Book a cruise to Greenland and end up in.....Norway?
Oceansaway17 replied to Bramcruiser's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
yes I agree. the weather is going to be bad in Greenland and the ship will be safer in Norway which is a very nice place to visit. I suppose they could have taken the ship to Scotland as well. Try for Greenland next year but perhaps not the same month -
Everything.. Norwegian Viva/Prima class #2
Oceansaway17 replied to FreestyleNovice's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
More information will come in September. This per the Future cruise lady last week on Breakaway. They are planning a blitz of info. I saw a lot of slides on the new ships of what is to come and it really does look like are trying to be a bit more adult and relaxing and upscale. -
Everything.. Norwegian Viva/Prima class #2
Oceansaway17 replied to FreestyleNovice's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
while on the Breakaway last week they had a presentation on the new ships and the most fascinating thing was how the seats in the theater will disappear under the floor and then the new floor can be for dancing. Also the ship will have a lot more room on the Waterfront as well as more pools. -
NCL Epic closing spice H20 and the sports deck
Oceansaway17 replied to grillysgillies's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
yes I agree. Just was on the Breakaway and during the night parties the smoke from stack was strong. Also I feel the Water grotto should be covered a bit more as the sun makes it too hot to even walk around the tiles. I found the place to be empty a lot except for the parties. Guess this is why Bliss and Encore removed the area and put in the track. -
Why does HAL seem to cost a lot less than Princess?
Oceansaway17 replied to zhuangcorp's topic in Holland America Line
yes I agree. I only sailed on one ship - Caribbean Princess and I was turned off by the lumpy ugly blue carpet on the Balcony off all places. That and just overall little things including the price. I find HAL to be reasonable for solo folks. Princess is just as expensive as Disney. -
well considering since 9/11 how airplanes still make us take shoes off at security and liquids no more than 3 ounces. Also friends and family still can't go to the gate to say goodbye, I would say not really will cruising ever be the same too. But who knows in this crazy world

wow on the same ship for 4 weeks, I would be got bored with repeat show. Will you see CATS all three weeks? ha ha. meow
-
okay but it sounded like after a few cruises you were not having luck on board. Calling was just a suggestion and I believe calling early in day would be best
-
well I have sailed on three Oasis class ships this year and each cruise I was able to get in on standby for a 2nd viewing. Always room in the back to stand or sit. Same thing with most shows. Folks always in the back. Comedy club and BIG production shows can fill up otherwise just wing it and most likely will be good.

Royal Caribbean - This is completely unfair!
Oceansaway17 replied to soremekun's topic in Royal Caribbean International
ha ha this is the best answer to a silly thread. -
Are buffets open all the time
Oceansaway17 replied to notatubaplayer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
and RCI is quite strict about closing time. I just came off of an NCL ship and they are a lot more lenient if folks are coming in close to closing time. They will keep food hot and not chase folks away. -
The CATS holy wars thread...
Oceansaway17 replied to bgoff60's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Both have a story that some folks do not catch onto early on. So then they lose interests. But Cats has a lot of fun songs and costumes. -
could you not call the crown and anchor phone number and have them look up your history. I was overlooked in 2019 and last fall while on Anthen, the LA emailed Miami and set up the mailing for me. so I think try contacting Miami.

Timing of Noise on Boardwalk Balcony Cabins?
Oceansaway17 replied to Takemetoaspa's topic in Royal Caribbean International
also depends on how busy Playmakers is and if you are in lower decks. I had issues on the Wonder in April as Playmakers music was still rather loud and 1am. but on Allure they do not have playmakers. I fine if a large group is drinking heavily, the bar stays open as well all know ships make a lot of money on alcohol which then makes for more roudyness too -
yup agree I will take Bayonne over NYC or Brooklyn any time. Glad someone else besides me like Bayonne. Yes the infrastructure could use upgrading and the was my point all along.
-
me thinks it was the other way around folks disagreed with my wanting another garage at Liberty. Who would have thought this would have annoyed folks. oh guess the NY folks who do not like Liberty.

Nicest beach for swimming Coco Cay
Oceansaway17 replied to minnie00's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Ya took the words right out of my mouth. no seaweed, no shells, no sand in your bathing suit and the pool is a nice easy walk in. I do like wandering over the south beach area and trying to see if ever an NCL ship is next door at the other island. And then I like to look over at the over-water-bungalows and think are they really enjoying it for the HIGH price they paid. -
So disappointed with Royal Caribbean
Oceansaway17 replied to soremekun's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I am with you as I do not like those three things either. I would still go to see CATS out of respect for the performers who trained and practiced hard. Folks need to ease up on CATS and try and like it. -

Oceansaway17 replied to soremekun's topic in Royal Caribbean International
oh dear you really have an opinion. But really you would rather walk on broken glass or hot coals. I mean just get up and leave. I do feel bad for all the folks in the show who read all these negative remarks about Cats. oh well. I am sure there are folks in hospitals or war torn countries that would love the chance to see this show. Just saying - put in some perspective not trying to be mean. -
that ship is older than Oasis and Emma Cruises did a nice video on You Tube. Wow really impressed with that ferry. I think a lot of great minds have the same idea around the same time and whoever gets it done first gets the credit. But to me that ferry had a narrow and nicer promenade than any Oasis or Voyager ship.

aw that was nice of you to include your wife.. Hope she is not brittle.

Dining and Show Reservations
Oceansaway17 replied to Carlo16's topic in Royal Caribbean International
oh dear well look it up on line. There is a time between testing positive with proper paperwork and then applying for the certificate as well. I think the whole time line is about 2 weeks but I could be wrong. do some research and hope all goes well for you but I think if you test positive and cannot get recovery, then the cruise line should give you FCC for future. -
my you certainly like to argue. I have my opinions and yes I am fussy about my car. Good day. done with you

Dining and Show Reservations
Oceansaway17 replied to Carlo16's topic in Royal Caribbean International
well do not worry as they are now allowing standby lines and you can get into see shows in the main theatre. The Aqua show you can also enjoy even standing in the back and the ice show I have never seen 100% full. I have done Wonder, Symphony, and Allure this year and I went to ice show several times. Once to record and once to just watch. Only issues are the comedy club fills up. But the two comedians also perform their show towards the end of the week very late and you can also get into that. Sometimes it is the last day. hope this helps. Do not sweat the reservation issues.
