ArriveCAN app required for Canada
Oceansaway17 replied to Arizona Wildcat's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I have not misunderstood at all. I believe the app has to be done before you board the ship since ship stops in Victoria. They will not let you board without it. then again rules changing so much how can we keep up -

C&A Top tier party - worth attending ?
Oceansaway17 replied to kw1816's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes it is worth it because Capt Rob H is on board and he is very nice. One the 6th cruise in April he lingered and came out to chat with folks in boardwalk area. -

safe timing for return flight
Oceansaway17 replied to LIVERBALLS's topic in Royal Caribbean International
any around the world it is always best to plan for flights after 12 noon. Just a good rule and it is what most cruiselines suggest as well. -
well I have said for quite a while that Johhny Rockets is a mess of a place to eat. Milkshakes were terrible and the last burger I had was very overcooked and tasteless. As for the frozen yogurt, I think it is to keep track of kids not working the machine and getting tghe stuff all over the floor. Oh and the machine does needs refilling a lot as well. I am glad to be served these days if for no other reason than to keep kids and perhaps some adults from mishandling. I am on the ADV OTS in mid Sept so I hope things go well. But honestly I have done Wonder, Symphony, and Allure this year and on each of them something is off or not quite to my liking. Just might be what cruising is all about. Never saw the Broadway show because of covid issues or supply chain. Meals in MDR are iffy as well as cold air conditioning. And we all know how bad the MY TIME dining is for a lot of folks in that it starts at 6:45 pm. I mean for some folks that is perhaps late and not what I call my time. oh well, still like cruising but like the rest of the world, I have lowered my expectations just a bit.

ArriveCAN app required for Canada
Oceansaway17 replied to Arizona Wildcat's topic in Celebrity Cruises
BTW I just did my edocs for Quantum OTS (RCI) and no mention of ARRive Can. Oh boy wonder how boarding at the end of August will go. And I still think ARRiveCan is bunch of nonsense unless they do not trust the cruise lines information that is provided. -

interesting. I am not sure if Prima or the next one is getting the disappearing seats in the theater to make room for a dance floor. saw a presentation while on the Breakaway. Prima will be an exciting ship that is for sure and the next one too.

ArriveCAN app required for Canada
Oceansaway17 replied to Arizona Wildcat's topic in Celebrity Cruises
well a lot of folks are used to doing checkin for cruising on line and printing out the information Perhaps he or she wanted to also do this for ArriveCan but is sounds like the app is the best thing I have to do this in later August for Alaska and then again in 3 weeks for East coast Canada. I wonder if some information will copy over or will the 2nd trip require me to start over with covid and passport information. sure wish Canada would stop all this crap anyways. Pity folks who do not have a smartphone. Then again I guess they could use a tablet. -
Icon of the Seas Blocks Are In The House!
Oceansaway17 replied to Lloyd555's topic in Royal Caribbean International
yes I agree this would be nice. I think all ships should have areas in front and back to watch the sea as well as down low along the side. I never was a fan of pushing folks up to the top and cramming everyone because the fancy suites have the front. The newer NCL ships have what is called Waterfront along the sides with places to sit and some restaurants. I wish I knew if Icon is having Aqua theater, or Two 70, or a Northstar or a solarium of some kind. Time to also reinvent the Promenade to not look so much like a mall. time will tell. Hope they put a Jamie Olivers on the ship too. -
well Voyager got switched a couple of time. It was removed from Baltics in 2023 and replaced with Serenade which then also got canceled for 2023 cruise as well. Now again Voyager is swapped out. Gee perhaps she should be sent back to Australia for better luck. I do not why they had to cancel Serenade either. For the Baltics they should have kept the Denmark and Norway 7 days as those were really unique 7 days. But nope, without Russia, cruiselines do not want to give Denmark or Eastern Norway and chance. oh well.

Better "Beach Day" vs Better "Stay Onboard Day" ?
Oceansaway17 replied to LMaxwell's topic in Holland America Line
not sure but I bet if you look up on the web site perhaps you might find it. I will always be glad I took that tour and got a lot of photos upstairs. I got bored with the lady talking too much downstairs and no one else on the bus went up but me. When I showed my photos of the John Glenn exhibit, folks were sorry they did not go up. I mentioned to the tour guide to let folks go up next time before the over chatty lady downstairs drone on and on about ship wrecks. -

cruise line. I remember stopping at a church too. The museum was called the Turks and Caicos Museum. Downstairs the lady talked a lot and very little time for upstairs. I made sure the bus waited for me to go up for 3 mins to take a lot of photos. -

I had a nice tour in Grand Turk that included a museum where upstairs was exhibits on John Glenn. Grankd Turk is where his capsule was taken after being picked up floating. Around the port is a few landmarks in remembrance of this. -

Yes I liked and smashed up VW bug in the promenade as well as the musical steps leading up to the WJ. I also love the show called "FLIGHT"
