  1. Hey Roy good to see you on RCI. I am D+ as of last cruise on Symphony in jr suite getting 42 points (triple). You are brave dealing with Bermuda. I had two reservations for ADV but canceled the Bermuda one and kept the New Eng/Canada one for late Aug. Dealing with ArrCan feels easier than dealing with Bermuda. And no $40 either. I am looking forward to your story and photos and Safe drive to NJ and heat wave.
  2. Yes and yes. Walgreens is good for now but I bought emed as backups. may the testing soon just go away I hope.
  3. Which is why a few years ago I ditched MDR and opted for WJ or specialty dining. I do not always get the descriptions they have on menus and then disappointed with amounts of veggies too.
  4. Wow I did Wonderland on Symphony and it was just okay and not worth the money. But great to do once for photos.
  5. Yea I love watching type A folks trying to survive cruising and those with energetic kids are a hoot. Some folks take “getting your money’s worth” too serious. Ships like air planes are great for people watching.
  6. I understand your point of view. most MDR do escort the first night. Perhaps they were short staffed that day. in regards to dessert, I have for last 6 years just waited a little while and then walked to WJ to select my own dessert so I can see what it looks like and try some others too. For the most part,I only do MDR once then just specialty or WJ. I no longer enjoy MDR like I did 15 or so years ago as I now just want to eat and read and leave.
  7. Yes I agree. Only so much tracing can be done because people are on the move.
  8. Hmm I guess I have more surprises coming.
  9. They wear masks as well. Again for mild symptoms I won’t volunteer and get isolated when most likely other mild cases swirling. and crew I believe will also for mild cases keep working. on Wonder my steward was ill last couple days and perhaps was ill but kept working.
  10. well they can't blame the Wonder OTS as she will be up in Port Canaveral. Guess FLA is too busy for it's own good and need to send a few ships to Tampa or other places.
  11. my time dining was a mess on Symphony as well 2 weeks ago. Most folks in line gest 6;45 was too late. But they were using the dining room after the 5:15 early diners. to me My time dining is not being handle the way it was intended when NCL created a few years ago. But I also notice that each night the buffet got busier and busier. I say this all the time, buffet is the place to go and less air conditioning too.
  12. will follow along as well. I did Wonder in FLA early April. so I am interested if Cinque Terre via train vs bus. And also underground tours in Naples - who knew they had them. Waiting to follow along
  13. oh okay. I think that area is part of Earthquake area too. But can you see russia from them islands. sorry for joke ya know via SP - ha ha
  14. aw I hope to do Iceland next year on the new NCL Prima. Not sure if I will ever get to Antarctica. I will have to look up Dutch harbor
  15. agree but then some of them have large debt to repay. I think masking on ships inside should be mandatory for a few more months too. Sure wish I could turn back the clock a few years when sailing was enjoyable. Right now some are doing it while then can and others are venturing out to see how it goes, and then a lot of us are just watching and waiting. toodles
  16. these days it is hard to decide to travel to Europe for precruise land portions because of having to test and how and where to do it. Then if you are positive, zoom you are in isolation. I feel for those who decided to venture out and then got covid.
  17. never said travel was a requirement. Travel does need to be safer, and ships could keep numbers down for a few more months and planes could ask folks to continue to wear masks. Things are on the rise because protocols have loosened up and it is having results that make folks rethink their plans. Meanwhile lots of folks on TA on various cruise lines now are dealing with over seas isolation. Once the airlines removed mask mandates, then ease up on flying back into USA. I know I have kept trips to departing from USA ports.
  18. well I mean mostly on balcony if you have one and you could leave for a few minutes and tell the steward you will be back in an hour. Your kind zig an zag around a tiny bit but with a mask
  19. that is why I keep looking at my 2018 and 2019 European cruises to Norway and Baltics and then to Canaries. so glad I did them and hope to get back.
  20. Oh wow you have never done AK. I have sailed 4 times. It is a wonderful place and each port has so much to do. You must go and any cruiseline is good like HAL or yes RCI. Even NCL on Bliss with huge observation lounge. If you go sail first from Seattle. Then go back and sail from Vancouver 1 way and do land tour. hurry now times is a wasting. Of course you will have to sit the dog down and explain
  21. Yes I would have the same dumb luck too. I know we all have to try to be honest as best we can, but I think avoiding Europe right now is best to avoid getting stuck and not being allowed to come home to my own country. Just would be awful feeling not to mention hearing the words “we told you so”
  22. Thanks for photos and now between you and Twangster I now must visit the park during my Aug cruise on Quantum and 3rd to Sitka.
  23. I would hope you get to return to the ship’s departure port to make your way home rather than requesting you leave ship. just stay in cabin until returning to port
  24. I agree given that COVID is everywhere and on planes that now allow no masks. It is like in my opinion one can’t use their gas stove indoors because of fire dangers outside. bit of a stretch but point is COVID is really everywhere and asking folks to stay away from flying and not returning home is a bit too much drama.
