  1. I'll be there. Popular ports are not going to get any less crowded. No need for me to draw a line in the sand of how premium my tastes will be. I will do what makes sense for me at the time.
  2. Wow, you mean the crew will perform any room service that is necessary? And to think I almost swore off cruising because they won't replace my towels multiple times per day.
  3. How dare you try to use fact or logic. The internet has helped me form an opinion and I'd rather ride off that
  4. Is this now going with the also popular "golden parachute argument?" Many execs are given a set compensation package for accepting a role + stock. Again, no one ever calls the heads of celebrities or athletes who don't perform the way they are expected. Many execs have the majority of their pay in stock. If they tank that, they are hurting themselves.
  5. I don't disagree with these points. However, there's economics to everything. Building new mega ships during high costs of everything is a tough sell when there is already ton of debt. While I prefer mega ships, not everyone does, and it isn't perfect for every financial goal. I think the Venezia is an interesting strategy. It certainly has caught my attention. I wonder how different themes and venues might stir up interest.
  6. Limiting exec pay is a cool thing to say on the internet to show how much you hate the man. CEOs and other executives don't deserve millions. However, we never mention musicians, athletes, and other celebrities doing the same. The truth is, limiting executive pay could be the most financially disastrous move to the company. Imagine trying to retract and retain the best talent by telling them they aren't going to be paid. They go elsewhere. No large company is having financial problems because executives are "paid too much" regardless of hip, woke, opinions. However, many companies are in poor financial situations because of poor leadership.
  7. And lots of people still think these ships are sailing with lots of vacancies
  8. I remember dealing with my first hardships in life
  9. I don't think pricing is entitled to an opinion. Value may be, but not pricing. Their point was that Carnival was cheaper without the discounts. Upon a quick glance, Galveston is not any cheaper on RCL by default, but your discounts may make it that way.
  10. Can't argue that point. However, people want laws and rules that don't impact them, but other people. Then when they are impacted, they don't want to pay the consequences. We have taught society that you can raise a scene and do what you want. Which weed is on a similar theme. It is widely accepted now because it was mean to enforce. It's also a medicinal superfood now.
  11. I may not know what I am talking about here. However, it certainly seems like seeing what is ahead of you is more premium that seeing what you left behind.
  12. We should stop having laws too since they are not all enforced.
  13. As much as I love cruising and want to do a very long run, 3 years seems like a very long commitment to such a thing.
  14. So customers can play detective and decide to come pre-angry. It also helps calculate how much in tips are collected and if the dispersal meets their accounting standards.
  15. Where is the data that this is cruise-related? Just because "journalists" can track 6000 people all on the same loop for a week doesn't make cruising a dangerous activity. If it was up to health "experts" who knows how much longer cruises would have been grounded. Surprise, it hasn't been a death trap. Cruising is actually doing more than any other leisure travel businesses I can think of to appease this unfounded fear.
  16. The odds are just like anything else. Just because the news loves to cling on "big scary boat," doesn't mean it's anymore likely.
  17. Revenue is always king. I'd side with the justification that it impacted sales.
  18. There are so many factors, it's hard to choose. For the last few, we went on price, age of ship, number of activities, itinerary. Sometimes, it's hard to explain, but you just know the right one. The food and service will be fine no matter what.
  19. You're doing it wrong. You're supposed to scream cutback.
  20. What part of the cabin is no longer being cleaned with the removal of the second turndown? Try again: https://www.cruisehive.com/royal-caribbean-cuts-back-on-housekeeping-service/95567 I agree that Royal has a much better loyalty program. The free drinks is definitely one of the best perks IMO. Still, Royal Caribbean is generally more expensive than Carnival if you want to compare apples to apples.
  21. Sometimes, it isn't even anything groundbreaking or innovative to stir up excitement. Sometimes, it's just nice to have variety.
  22. Billions of dollars of debt and 99% of people don't care about twice a day service.
  23. You should check again about Royal's "twice a day service"
