  1. Never seen Bud Light Draft on Celebrity. The only Place I've seen Beer on Tap is Craft Social on S-Class ships -- They have Moretti, Amstel Light, Affigem, Tiger and Newcastle Brown Ale
  2. Normally you have two options. Leave the ship as early as you wish using the Transit Pass You will have to leave at final call and before B2B Processing. With this option you will not be able to re-board until full boarding begins. When you return to the pier you go to a B2B desk where they will process you and give you your new sea pass. The other option is that you stay aboard and after final call you meet B2B's in a specific location and they escort your off the ship for immigration and B2B processing (around 9:15-9:30) then back on the ship. You can the either leave the ship using your new card or have free roam of the ship until general boarding. I say normally because in some countries you can not leave the ship after you board (e.g. Australia). Also some ports that I have been to like San Diego and Boston they have done immigration and B2B processing on the ship without having to go ashore.
  3. Thanks -- drapes would not be a problem as we would always have them pulled at night. We really aren't affected by the seas - unless we get tossed out of bed. Thanks for information about the lounge. Do you know how late music goes on in the Lounge? We are rather late people.
  4. Thanks -- Can understand that. Unfortunately Regatta doesn't have Oceania Suites. On the Regatta Class ships they only have Owner's Suite and Vista Suites.. The Owner's Suite is about 20% larger than the Vista. The Owner's Suites are Aft while the Vista's are forward. If the Owner's Suite on Marina was the size of that on M and V Class I could see paying the extra money for it but not on the R Class. Would love to hear from others if my assumptions are wrong.
  5. All rooms have binoculars - better quality in suites. To be honest the cheap ones they supply you might be better off using a coke bottle. If really interested you might bring your own. In my many cruises I've never used mine. There really isn't much to see except occasional ships at sea. If doing Alaska and the inland passage way you might enjoy a pair.
  6. With due respect you are showing the Beer Menu for the upscale beer selections. There are still quit a number of beers available at the Classic Beverage Package Bud, Bud Light, Dos Equis Coors, Anstel Light, Heineken and Miller Light. Most be what most would order at their home bar.
  7. Really looking forward to following along. Congrats on you dedicated health program, it is worth it in the end. I also used that program and really helped to make choices and portion control sizes to enjoy what I wanted and still loose or maintain my weight.
  8. We are late diners and normally would not be going to dinner until 8:45 - 9:00 - Will getting a table for 2 be difficult at that time? We love a nice leisurely dinner and love that the dining room gets more quiet as the meal progresses.
  9. John - I asked him but of course screwed up your description.... I said do you ask for a 99 to refer to a soft serve with a chocolate coating. He replied NO.... a 99 is Soft Serve with a Cadbury Chocolate Flake stuck in it. Showing his age he said, "when I was a kid they didn't have Soft Serve - They had a scoop of Italian Ice Cream with a Cadbury Flake stuck in it. Ayrshire they had a large Italian Community and many of the Ice Cream shops were owned by Italian's.
  10. Would appreciate recommendations on choosing a Vista Suite - Deck 6 or Deck 7 - From the deck plans which are probably not to scale - Deck 6 looks to have a larger deck but 7 looks like room is potentially a little deeper. I would presume the Bridge above Deck 7 would be quiet???
  11. I know what you have in mind. A soft Ice creamed dipped in hot chocolate making a hard cover. Yum... I would call that dipped.
  12. LOL -- My husband is a Scotland there are are so many words in both that pop up all the time. Hand Dipped is somewhat a regional description and is often referred to in other regions as Hand Scooped (because one uses scoop). I will never forget the look on Iain's face when a friend asked him to make some Peanut and Jelly Sandwiches. With a confused look, he replied - How do you make one? Our British friends here will understand - in Scotland Jelly is what we Americans call Jello You can imagine what he envisioned.
  13. We are still in discussions about the Vancouver to LA. I think we are getting closer and just in discussion on type of cabin. We hit Double Zenith on our next Celebrity cruise in April - They have devalued the Zenith program so much for Suite travelers they are useless. All the perks of Zenith are part of the mandatory inclusion of perks with Suites. Thus after 23 years we are looking elsewhere and finding Oceania very promising. The one perk we will enjoy is at Double Zenith we get a free 7 day Aqua Class Caribbean cruise or equivalent credit which we will apply to one of our last booked cruises. Definitely know now we will never hit Triple.
  14. Sounds perfect. We will be staying in an AirBnb we have used for a couple years in Lymington and in no rush to get there before checkin time if someone it there the night before.
  15. LOL.. I've never known a thread on CC that doesn't at least occasionally go off topic. That is what I like about CC. It isn't like someone that isn't interest can't skip over the posts that don't interest them.
  16. Oh....yea.... We have a local Pizza place with the best boutique pizza's I've ever had. They are expensive and on the small size BUT.... Our first pizza was a 4 Cheese and Heirloom Tomato Pizza - no tomato sauce that are common to pizza. We almost had a knife fight over the last piece. They have such attention detail. Crust that doesn't even sag when you pick up and they brush Olive Oil on the crust right out of oven that gives it a nice flavor and shine. I'm salivating -
  17. Possibly their new target audience are filling the ships. Their bookings are strong and RCL stock prices are close to an all time high, so the market must have confidence in the RCL product. The main attraction to us on Celebrity Suite and above is they are a true Suite (two rooms with a door to the bedroom). In my humble opinion the Sky Suite is just a marketing ploy with Retreat and Luminae thrown in.
  18. I think Oceania may be a refuge for discontent Celebrity cruisers.
  19. I've traveled internationally all my work life and very comfortable shopping air on my own and really don't need transfers or hotels. I of course compare the price the Oceania prices to what I can book on my own and have not found their pricing advantageous for us. I'm sure others enjoy one stop shopping and not interested in doing it themselves. I on the other hand, like control of my travel and enjoy the planning process. I think I enjoy the planning anticipation as much as the cruise.
  20. Thanks... I have been doing lots of research. We have even been considering trying out a Veranda, something we have never done on Celebrity. Gasp.... I've read so many posts that on Oceania one receives much the same dining experience regardless of cabin type. Even though we have always sailed in suites doesn't mean we aren't open to consider a different option and sail a bit more.
  21. As a new Cunard cruiser am curious about disembarkation works. Most lines I have sailed ask guests to be out of their cabin by a specific time e.g 8:00 AM regardless of disembarkation time. Walk offs begin at 7:00 and those with later time have breakfast or hang out in public areas. Sounds like on Cunard people leave things in their room when they go to breakfast?
  22. In the past 8-9 months they have eliminated most of the photographers. They no longer have the unlimited photo packages and have shifted to a new business model. They now have 1 or more green screens setup. You pose and then later decide which background you want added. The then sell them on a per picture basis. At least that's the experience I've seen on my last 6 E-Class cruises. As mentioned above you can also make an appointment for a Studio Shoot.
  23. If you have Celebrity NR OBC you can book it now and use your credit online and pick up the sales price. If refundable really doesn't matter as your Refundable OBC if not used is credit back to your original form of payment or you can withdrawal it at front desk last day of cruise.
  24. Definitely saw that on the first YouTube video I watched. The prices I've seen are about that of a SS. We booked an Owner's Suite, which is an incredible suite at 2,000 feet. I'm embarrassed to say the cost was less than a recent Celebrity Suite on Celebrity. We are more excited but it is not until 2025. Will really be an interesting non-like-for-like comparison as we are doing 3 Cruises Cunard QM2 Queens Grill, Oceania Vista in the OS Istanbul to Barcelona and finished off with Equinox Lisbon to Rio and Buenos Aires in a RS. On Cunard I would say a Queens Grill is between a SS and CS.
