  1. I've used the Upgrade using Plus Grade on Celebrity and awarded upgrades about 8 times. As many pointed out, one really need to understand the current price and the value of an upgrade. Most of the time they include room categories that are sold out and use the Upgrade program to fill these cancellations. The bid amounts will vary according to the level room you already have. Like the OP I have found times when the bid amounts being offered were far higher than what could be obtained on the open market by upgrading for full price of the upgrade. Know you prices and bid accordingly. Also with the bidding program you can change your bid or cancel anytime up until an upgrade has been awarded. Recently the prices of a Royal Suite on my cruise dropped to $350 more than what I had paid for my Celebrity Suite. I have to point out that after final payment the price of my Celebrity Suite had dropped by $8,000. I had my agent upgrade for the $350 but in doing so I had to forfeit a on-board booking credit of $800. The minimum bid started at $2,000 pp. To me upgrading by upgrading my room instead of using the auction made sense.
  2. The luggage tags do not become available until about 30 days prior to the sailing. They will be included in your Cruise Documents and also on the Reservation list a link will activate right above the Check-In Link.
  3. They don't always have them and is decided by the Captain and CC Host. Most of the time when they open them for sail away is a port with an interesting Bridge, Statue or view. Possibly due to the ports they decided there would be little interest.
  4. Yes you can use unlimited number of devices but only one at a time per account. When you log on via a second device it will ask you if you want to disconnect the other connection. Just select yes.
  5. I think you will find it IS NOT A HELIPAD. As a Pilot I can tell you Helipads always have a regulatory marking on them - You will see this on ALL other ships with a Helipads. What you have shown would only be used for a Winch. I've been on many E-Class and they have NEVER had invites to that small pad.
  6. On that particular window if a cabin category is sold out it will say so Example of a Beyond sailing with only Retreat unsold - if you click Retreat it will only show one cabin. Meaning only cabin on ship unsold. If when you click the link and nothing shows up --- means that the ship is totally sold out. https://www.celebritycruises.com/booking-cruise/selectRoom/stateroomCategory?pID=BY10D058&sDT=2024-03-22&sCD=BY&sCT=CO&roomQuantity=1&category=D
  7. Easiest way is to log into your account. Choose Plan my Cruise and you will see your OBC. This will only be the NR that come with a booking. TA Refundable will not show up until on the cruise.
  8. There are often sales around most U.S. holidays. Best strategy is to book now prior to all being sold out. If a sale comes along - Cancel and immediately book at new rate. When you cancel using OBC the money goes back in less than 1 minute and chance of loosing it is very small even when an excursion is sold our. On one cruise a Huge Sale came up and I cancelled 6 and rebooked.
  9. Are Menus delivered to all Queens Suites every day or is this something I should ask the Butler to do?
  10. Should be really easy for you. As I understand it - Aqua Class Cabins and Sky Suites have the TV's mounted on tilting mounts so easy access. In the upper suites they are mounted flat inside indented frames. Can always be a challenge getting my hand in the small space to get an HDMI plugged in.
  11. I think the two are different. The OP isn't wanting an extension to potentially cancel a cruise which would invoke the penalty, but looking to just pay a day late. The extension in my knowledge would have no affect on the cancellation period.
  12. Please read on Celebrity Site under FAQ Travel Documentation - Celebrity agents will not and can not give advise on this and will refer you to Visa Central - https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/travel-documents
  13. I'm the ultimate hacker and very familiar with the TV's on the Celebrity Fleet. I was on Solstice last year and will be on her again in April. Yes they have USB and 2-3 HDMI depending on ship and cabin class. I always use the HDMI input but know that the USB does have the ability to use a media player to view images and I presume video. I've posted this video a number of times that show how you access the ports using the rooms remote. Universal Remotes no longer work.
  14. E-Class ships do not have a helipad. For air evacuation they use the Patio area in the Aft of the ship.
  15. For some reason occasionally that randomly happens. I think it's a CC orientation glitch as I only see it happen on CC. The way to fix is to rotate the photo 4 times and then the orientation is fixed. Then delete the photo in the first 10 minutes after posting and uploading again. I often do the rotation for all photos prior to upload.
  16. I can understand the OP's desire to have the charge applied after cc billing date. Paying early while sill showing pending will be included in her January bill. By pushing off by 1 day she will get almost 2 months float, as oppose to paying by the January due date. While I have never done it. I understand you can call Celebrity and have them extend your due date by a couple days. Worth a call.
  17. I think you might be able to do it but would probably be treated like a new booking and cancellation penalty under the tiered penalty policy. I've done upgrades which is ok as long as the new fare is at least $1 more than the existing one without penalty after final. I have never read of anyone that downgraded so just speculation on my part.
  18. Oh.. yes... Now wonder our Grand Kids love us so much. Spoil them rotten and fill them with sugar before sending them home.
  19. Helipad sail aways don't always work as expected. We decided to do the one out of Port Liberty.. The ship was delayed due to a medical emergency and they finally had to ask us to leave as it was unknown when we would set sail.
  20. One way that some used on our last cruise. One group matched up each Non-CC guest with a CC Guest (call it wife swapping) the were able to all go ashore together.
  21. I know that when we were on Edge in December they definitely checked for stickers. I had mine on my hat and was stopped and asked if I had one and I pointed to my hat.
  22. I'm lucky being in California the magic hour is only 9:01 PM here. I guess I really don't have to worry. I looked up the number of upper suites and is a relatively small number
  23. They usually announce a change like that at least a month in advance and give an effective date. If I did see an announcement like you I would be inclined to prepay prior to the effective date.
  24. We are always invited to Helipad Sail Always as a Zenith / Suite Passenger. We rarely accept the invite --- notable exception arrival in NYC and sail in past the Statue of Liberty. My observations have been that it is up to the Captain and Port Arrival times but Generally Suites and Zenith's get an invite. On Different days I've seen Aqua and Concierge Passengers being invited. As others have indicated, for Panama Canal and often the Glaciers the Helipad is open to all passenger but they may limit the number allowed at a time.
