  1. Discounts are always good... You don't have to be REAL senior to qualify. AAA for example consider you a Senior at 50 and can use discounts at many hotels.
  2. Fantastic. Do it. It is one of those hidden treats. There are only about 8-10 slots and is great fun. We did one in Murano Kitchen and one in the old Olympic Kitchen. While we all did mess up along the way, our lunch was professionally made. It is a fun event.
  3. They have done similar on E-Class ships. They have a sail away party on the Retreat Deck. Also Summit - even though they had the helipad open for the Fjords of Greenland they had a event at Retreat Sun Deck with Officers, Hot Chocolate and Hot Toddies. Lots of blankets.
  4. The safety videos are also available on all stateroom TV's or if you go to the muster they will give you a quick one in person.
  5. It really depends on whether their is a Priest on the ship. In the OLD DAYS many cruise lines comped rooms for officiants, but I don't believe they no longer do. Of course I could be wrong. I've been on many cruises where where they have had Christmas Mass, Hanukah and non-denominational services. I don't know who can officiate at what type of service but I believe on a Passover Service I remember reading that a passenger lead the service who was not a Rabi.
  6. It will ---You just need the magic decoder ring - Celebrity IT is not known for being intuitive. Under your cruise click Select a Different Cruise Under Upcoming Cruise Choose View All At very bottom choose "Don't see your cruise - Let's add it At the very bottom above the picture of a ship - Choose Browse our Ships Select Ship and then select the current cruise.
  7. Sorry to hear ..... I can only imagine. I guess you never tried Kelly's Munchkin Chairs in the retreat. I was about the only one that could fit in one since I'm referred to as NAA (No A$$ At All). They were a real failure - they eventually replaced them fleet wide and moved them to Kids Camp at Sea
  8. There was always something special of the Swensen's on Hyde Street. It still feels like an Ice Cream Parlor from the early 50's.
  9. LOL--- I even asked Iain who lived in SF for 20 years and he had never heard of them also. Also saw they have one in Campbell at Pruneridge. I guess I'll just wait and try in in September on our first Oceania Cruise. Like many other things we travel the world but we never enjoy the things in our backyard.
  10. The time difference of standing on line at 6:30 as oppose to just getting on the end of the line when Walk Off's are called is maximum of 15 minutes, probably 10. If that 10 minutes makes a difference definitely get in line. Suites usually begin around 7:15.
  11. I'm also 6ft and have never had a problem with height. It's the hardness of them and things like sofa's in Retreat with legs in the front 4 inches higher than the rear. You sit down and your legs almost go flying in the air, let alone trying to get up out of them.
  12. Fantastic. Sounds like you will be having your initiation on your next cruise. You can invite as many of your friends as you like or can have it for just the two of you. We only had one guest for our event. Hope they have enough Zenith's aboard for your first Zenith Lunch and reception.
  13. Would suggest you look on the Celebrity App for the current cruise. It will list all the entertainment by day and the time of each set.
  14. The real test will be to hear if they chairs and sofa's that are comfortable and utilitarian. Hopefully they cut ties with Kelly Hoppen.
  15. I've heard they were available on the App but also have never found them there -- but again I never looked there either.
  16. When you say Hostess - was that in a suite ? Suites normally meet in Retreat and when ready they escort down in groups (usually one retreat escort per elevator load) and they walk us down to the tender which is sitting empty) They usually have a number of Hosts an Butlers that assist. If later than the first tender they escort you down when they get a call a tender is available and escort us to a separate lane for tagging off the ship.
  17. No. Walk Off's form a line and there is no priority. All walk off's are usually off the ship in 5-10 minutes. The only priority you have is to go to the CC lounge and they will escort you when ready. The Disembarkation process works with the following order. Walk Off's Suites Captain's Club (they may actually use stickers according to when you arrive depending on number of guests) General disembarkation by luggage tag number.
  18. They almost always have one going out of San Francisco. It is one of my favorite sail away's. On occasion due to wave conditions they have had to cancel. I was on one cruise they cancelled it and were advised that just outside the Gate we would be hitting 25 Ft. waves. It was challenging even holding onto the rails to walk down the ship. Hallways were lined with bags.
  19. It often varies by port and by Ship Class. On Edge recently and due to the large passenger load they used sticker in all tender ports as well as docked ports with shuttles into town. This was done to avoid a mad rush. Unfortunately I heard tales of people waiting as much as 2 hours to get off the ship (without any priority). The ship was at capacity.
  20. Yes they do but expensive. Last time I saw it posted it was undiscounted at $67 for a continuous 24 hours (expires 24 hours after subscription)
  21. Yes and the OP was wondering why. If you can't add anything constructive possibly you should just move on instead of being condescending.
  22. Hate to say it but have lived in the SF Bay Area for almost 50 years and had never heard of it before reading about it here. I did find they have one shop in the Mission District and another At Fisherman's Wharf. We have a second home in San Francisco on Russian Hill about 1block from the Original Swensen's Ice Cream (opened in 1948). Fantastic and often stop by for a cone when one a walk. I did find they have one shop in the Mission District and another At Fisherman's Wharf (close to Russian Hill) and would not go out of my way to try them.
  23. Thanks for the well written review. Really enjoyed reading it.
  24. I love Glass Half Full type people.
  25. Would be interesting to run tests at the same location and compare results. Not knowing how you ran your test, I suspect that if the tests are being run from your rooms it may be due to the distance of the room to the Access Points (router extensions). Also if testing use the same speed test programs. I find different programs show different results.
