  1. No need to purchase in advance. Once on the ship, 2hen you create your account it will show both the Free Minutes or the Internet packages with your discounted prices already applied with option of Classic or Premium. Just click on which you want.
  2. Almost always I book aboard and then transfer to my agent and receive aprox. 9% additional OBC. Of course I am not expecting my agent to combine with a group sailing. Just curious if you find Group Rates lower than 9% - When I first started sailing the group rates I received were in the 5% range. I really haven't looked in years.
  3. Could you provide the source of your statement. I purchased 2 on Edge in December and the booking form clearly states where one signs - * To be eligible for the Onboad promotion of up to $500 OBC, I have 6 months to pick a ship and sailing date. * After 6 months I will no longer be able to take advantage of the onboard offer * If I don not pick a ship and sailing date within 6 months of booking , my deposit will be refunded.
  4. Touch down... that's our favorite place. I think they have been there for 50 years. I'm drooling. I actually didn't remember the name but know where it is on 46th Avenue and Judah.
  5. A good rule of thumb all other things being equal, if you are affected by motion sickness the center of the ship both floor number and forward aft will be the fulcrum point and least movement. The higher the floor and the more forward or aft will feel more Pitch movement. Roll (side to side movement) will be felt regardless of forward or aft but less pronounced on middle floors.
  6. You are correct. I was surprised that it was not available on Edge after dry dock. Not sure if it was ever enabled on her.
  7. Same down here. Was really late this year. I have yet to have one. My favorite is a place in the Sunset with an incredible Garlic Crab.
  8. I also got mine. About 7 days after many reported they started receiving theirs.
  9. It varies by cruise. Best to do a mock booking and click the button for the Always Included (be aware it no longer includes tips) also the OBC have been dramatically reduced). It will quickly show the cost For our Hawaii to Vancouver - 11 night - below is the Veranda price average per person with and without
  10. I would go ahead and book if you reasonably feel that you will be taking the cruise (over 50/50). If the price drops before final payment you can call in or call your agent and have them apply the price reduction (no charge). The cost of $200 to change the booking to a different is fare less expensive than paying the non-refundable fare. If the risk is high I would consider booking using a refundable fare and then cancel and rebook using the non-refundable fare closer to final payment date ( but you risk the price going up).
  11. I appreciate your comments. We will not be sailing Oceania for the first time until September. One of the main reason we are looking for different cruise lines is after 23 years with Celebrity we find much of the same as you describe in Luminae (their Suites Only Dining Room). I've found that it often depends on the Chef. We were on on cruise and every Fish and Chicken dish was like eating road kill. The MD would even go back and supervise the chef a couple nights and the Chicken was perfect but then returned to road kill. The second cruise of a B2B that chef left the ship and his replacement delivered every dish to perfection.
  12. In my last life (pre-retirement) I use to do Consulting in ERP Order Management Software and was managing an install at Dairygold in Seattle. I would fly in on Sunday nights and come home on Friday. I have some very fond memories of Seattle. My apartment on Ellis over looked Pier 66. Wonderful views and I never pulled my drapes. One morning I cam out of the shower only to discover a Cruise Ship parked in my living room. I had to crawl across the floor to pull my shades.
  13. Yes less than a 15 minute walk. Just don't get up to the City much since Iain retired. Having said that - Last year we did a B2B on Celebrity California Coastal and had 2 over nights in SF. On one we went home for lunch and change out some of our wardrobe but on the next we met friends for dinner. Sometime it's fun to play in your own back yard.
  14. I think it depends on the Travel Agent you are using. You can book direct with Oceania and then transfer it to your agent and either have them service your booking our use your agent to service your agent. I prefer to book with an agent knowledgeable in Oceania Product. Many of these agents will also provide additional perks or on-board credit to obtain and maintain your business. I find it easier to just call or email my agent when there is a problem and let them fix the problem.
  15. @DaKahuna thanks for pointing me here. Look forward to following along on @JamieLogical live. I don't think I would have seen it otherwise. Hope you both have wonderful cruise.
  16. Yes but probably need the Premium Package to use without lots of buffering.
  17. Sorry to hear. I'm sure there must be others. When Celebrity drops the ball like this it is a real kick in the face. Do you have the Zenith Desk phone number. If not email me and I will send to your or could just e-mail Andrea Shey at ashey@celbrity.com - As Director of Loyalty she will be the best person to address the issue.
  18. Interesting. I didn't realize the complete fleet had not yet been upgraded to StarLink.
  19. Yea... Looking forward to it. I really have enjoyed reading many of the Lives about NCL YC. I'll be interested in hearing of your experience. While I like the concept and the price, I'm still undecided if we will ever try them due to size of the ships and what I've read and seen on YouTube of the experience when one leaves the YC enclave. Can't wait to follow along.
  20. I was curious about that. After years of cruising we usually dine in Specialties on the first night. First night on most cruises we have done are always a disaster as both guest and crew get accustomed to requirements and lots of questions. Things always see so much better on day 2 onward.
  21. Hate to say it that after Iain retired we rarely get up to the City. I may just have to stop off at Whole Foods and see what they have. I was just there dropping off an Amazon package yesterday before I read you post. We were low on Ice Cream and I picked up some Haggen Dazs at Target. Maybe we are boring but was just Vanilla.
  22. Yes we will be on QM2. We now have 2 crossings booked. We will be taking her instead of flying prior to a Oceania Med Cruise and Celebrity TransAtlantic back. At current First Class Air it is almost a deal and so much more fun. While I'm very comfortable reading menus on my iPhone it makes it so much easier to take photos of them for my Live Posts if I have a real menu and can get the correct lighting to make a copy.
  23. Yes PlusGrade does work with each client and builds in certain priorities if client requests. This is how Celebrity's Status affects bidding - As a valued Captain’s Club member your bid gets a bonus boost based on your tier. So, you get more value than what you bid. Classic members get an extra 1% multiplier, Select members get a 2% multiplier, Elite members get a 3% multiplier, Elite Plus members get a 4% multiplier, and Zenith members get a 5% multiplier. So if all other things are equal -- If I bid $100 as a Zenith my bid is $105 (but only pay $100) and a person with Classic bid $100 would be $101. Thus the Zenith would be awarded the upgrade.
  24. Discounts are always good... You don't have to be REAL senior to qualify. AAA for example consider you a Senior at 50 and can use discounts at many hotels.
