  1. Really enjoyed you well written review of your experience on your first Regent cruise.
  2. Well I guess we are forging full steam ahead. I just booked our 2nd Oceania cruise. Initially I booked Vista from Istanbul to Barcelona but that isn't until late 2025. We really wanted to try them out in between a B2B on Celebrity Solstice Sydney to Vancouver in April and a Combination Cunard/Celebrity Silhouette TA in October / November. After creating a spreadsheet with our current bookings I narrowed it down to either a Oceania Boston to Montreal and a Alaska Vancouver / LAX. To cut down on any more long haul flights we settled on the Alaska LAX one. My agent is currently on the Icon OTC but said he is also working from the ship. Hopefully he will be able to book it tomorrow.
  3. When you log into Celebrity using the web not the app - and select manage my reservation from your cruise, do you see this? It should show your initials on right and amount of OBC if you have any. I've pointed to Gift and Gears on my reservations -- showing on all 5 that I have. When I click it it takes to the Gifts and Gear - no pulldowns... just go to bottom of webpage
  4. Re: Laundry Packages - I am not certain but believe you can only book it via the Website. Go to Plan my Cruise - on very top choose Gift's and Gear - near the bottom you will find the laundry Services.
  5. @miched Interesting site - What I was trying to understand is how @fstuff1 new what the odds were on Celebrity Ships vs NCL. The subject included the odds - I'm not a gambler but enjoy statistics. To be honest I don't even know what a 7/5 JoB is. Best Video poker is triple play 7/5 JoB (96.1%) whereas NCL has 9/6 DDB (99%).
  6. But more annoying to others if not used with respect.
  7. Never done a River Cruise but I understand they often have solid full payment dates. I've recently booked a couple Oceania and Payment is due at 150 days except for their World Cruises. Cunard is at 120 days.
  8. Yes. Actually more than you would think. Honolulu to Sydney 19 Nights Edge / Solstice Sydney to Honolulu 18 Nights Edge / Solstice Panama Canal 16 night and 15 night Summit TransAtlantic 16 Nights Constellation TransAtlantic 15 Nights Equinox TransAtlantic 15 Nights Ascent
  9. I know there aren't a huge number of cruises in this category but: Is Celebrity shooting themselves in the foot. I guess they think they are now a Premium Line. NEW PAYMENT SCHEDULES FOR LONGER SAILINGS - FINAL PAYMENTS WILL BE DUE EARLIER on SAILINGS 15 NIGHTS or more or for GALAPAGOS Sailings Beginning January 30th, we are changing the payment schedules for 15-night and longer sailings as well as Galapagos sailings. All itineraries 15-night and longer (except Galapagos) final payment will change to 120 days to sailing – currently 90 days. All Galapagos itineraries final payment will change to 150 days to sailing – currently 120 days. Effective for July 2024 sailings and beyond. Bookings made prior to the new effective date will be protected by having their final payment terms adjusted to keep their original payment schedule.
  10. If I recall you do have to link somehow to be able to message. I don't recall but it is simple. You do not need to have an internet account to message. The downside is that it doesn't have a robust notifications and I think I recall it makes a very low pitch ping. It does work and if you check the app frequently may not be a problem. I know many that leave post it notes or even leave a message on the room phone. We have always had internet so just use iMessage
  11. Curious as to how you find out the odds on Video Poker or any Slot Machine? Just curious.
  12. To be honest I have never been on a Celebrity Cruise anywhere in the world that had either a huge number of children nor the majority over 80+ In fact I would dare to estimate that the demographics of 80+ is probably less than 10%. It really depends on what your expectations are on a cruise and what you enjoy doing. First off Mediterranean Cruises are VERY port intensive and generally you will only have 2 days at sea. All other days you will arrive in port Very Early and Depart 6-9PM. While on board they will have so much to do from Silent Disco, Late Night parties etc that those that are young and can live on little to no sleep will find many in their age group out and about to enjoy. On Med cruises you will find activities from Very Strenuous to kicked back laying on a beach. I think you will find many others in your age group by participating on Excursions like Kayaking, Bicycle Riding etc that would attract people of similar interest to you.
  13. Instead of being rude and personally attacking someone for their observations like I've seen here I will add my observations. They are of course the observation of a Double Zenith so I do have a little experience. As I said earlier, the demographics will vary by many factors and what someone else may observe on a different time of year or region. Since the OP is speaking about the Med in Late August to November - Here's my observation First off we will go with Month - August - September 50/50 Over and under 50 October and November - 60% over 50 and increasing as you get to TA's. Many of us that do TA's like to add on a Med prior to the crossing Ships - I've been observing that the E-Class have a tenancy to attract younger cruisers due to their desire of the latest and greatest. Many of the older and more seasoned travelers enjoy the smaller M and S, both due to lower cost and enjoy the size of the smaller ships. over and under 50 September 55 Over 50 October / November 50%
  14. I wanted to say... first I'm not a big gambler. I often use the Slots as a way of getting some off my OBC off the account. In my experience I have received point while playing OBC. I've played enough that somehow I hit Onyx level. You are correct that if you buy the Promo Slot Certificates they did not count toward points. On the other hand if you play the $5 free Slot they usually offer. You do not accrue points on the $5 but you do if you won and continue to play.
  15. If you maintain the booking number then you are often able to retain the perks you received at booking. With recent changes unless it was a forced change you loose the OBC and Tips. Also if in a suit instead of loosing the 10% deposit you can change a booking prior to final payment you only pay $100 pp to change to a different sailing.
  16. Not a problem at all. You will have a transit pass and can leave as soon as they call for walk offs or any time. I believe if you leave, you will not be allowed to re-board until general boarding commences around 11. The pier is a very short walk to Central Station.
  17. Not arguing - especially since I am unable to drink Alcohol and haven't had a beer since in College where we would pay a premium for Coors -- LOL - I was on the East Coast. I just posted the list as to what beers are normally available on Celebrity fleet. The Craft Social only on S-Class ships that offer the array of beers on the menu you posted. If you are disappointed with the pedestrian beers you may be disappointed with the offering on the other class ships. I could be totally wrong as a non-drinker I really haven't researched the beer offering.
  18. Like a number of others after many years we have decided that we are no longer a Celebrity Loyalist. I read with interest your review of Vista as we booked the Owner's Suite for her in late 2025. I enjoyed your perspective but it has in no way lowered our expectations. Of course we all enjoy a cruise in a different way. Many of the things that you note as a negative on Oceania are to us an advantage over Celebrity. After our last 4 cruises on E-Class ships in CS/RS combination on both B2B and all the recent changes, we look forward to many of the aspects you least enjoyed. For us the Up-sizing of Celebrity Ships to the E-Class size have lowered our enjoyment of Celebrity instead of enhancing it. Major area that have been negative to us has been Food Preparation in Luminae has been a real disappointment - meals seem to be prepared diner style as opposed to cooked to order that once was the standard. Another disappointment is the Specialty Dining. There isn't a single Specialty that is insulated from noise - especially Fine Cut. I'm sure many Love the E-Class ships and wish them the best. I've been enjoying the Oceania Thread - It's incredible how many frequent Celebrity Cruisers are showing up over there and giving very positive reviews. I'm sure we all need to find a fit and will be looking forward to sharing our experience - Probably in September - I think I will be booking another Oceania Cruise by Monday.
  19. Happy to see another of your fun Live VLog. "Dishonestly" think this should be a good read. Can't wait to see the wardrobe roll out.
  20. Experience on both Edge and Apex. On both we were in CS's and then won upgrades to RS. They did not make any modifications on Beyond or Ascent. I've not been on either yet and after our last experiences on Edge and Apex we will not be selecting E-Class again by choice. I just looked at a YouTube video on both Beyond and Ascent and they are exactly the same. as Edge and Apex.
  21. I've sailed often in the Med. As you suggested on shorter cruise at the peak of the summer months Mid-June to Early September you will find many younger families with many children. After school is back in season you will see fewer children. Another commonality of cruises is the longer the cruise the more senior population they attract. That is probably due to the fact that prices are lower and many are limited to the amount of vacation time available and maximum amount many still working can take at one time.
  22. Both on the App and Website you can click each restraunt and it will give the price. You will also on the Website look at the various x number of nights Specialty Dining Packages. This should help you calculate the best price for you.
  23. Thank you much. One more question please, since you have been in A2 cabins between the Visa Suites, To you hear any noise between the connecting cabins. From what I saw on a YouTube video - there is a connecting door between the two. Looking at the deckplan it looks like the connecting door is in the bedroom.
  24. I've found that sometime you can joging things back in place by Logging out of App - Hard Close App and then Logging back in. If this doesn't work - LogOut Uninstall App Reinstall App Log In Since you can see and log into it by the web portal would mean it is operational and you should be able to do things like book excursions on line. It is common for Celebrity to retain the reservation number when you make a change to a reservation as oppose to cancelling and rebooking.
