  1. You are correct for many airlines. I have found that some airlines (mostly international carriers) open up bookings as early as 1 year prior to flight.
  2. Yours in 2024 reads slightly difference than mine - On mine if I don't pick a cruise within 6 months my $100 Book Later Deposit will be refunded. I did notice that in the bottom terms they have an error - On your terms you signed it says will be refunded in 1 year if not used and in the fine print they type the word "one" end o sentence but then put in number 6 months.
  3. Tips for the specialties is a separate pool. They do get an allocation from the daily tip. They receive their gratuities from both the 20% added to the bill and extra that are left.. I was told by a Maitr'D if you leave additional a tip in Specialty on your Room Key it goes to all the ships restaurant staff but if you leave cash it just goes to the Specialty Dining Room Pool not the individual waiter.
  4. Ken - You may want to go further down the page. You are only quoting the appetizers. Personally I rarely order an appetizer. In addition to what you listed - the menu on Day 1 has: Creamy Lobster Roll Grilled NY Steak Frites Seared Branzion Cobb Salad Luminae Signature Burger There is also a Children's Menu that you may find something on. Then of course there is desert
  5. Thanks for clarity. I certainly will never buy one with those terms. Interesting to see what it says on the next page under - By Signing below, I acknowledge and authorize:
  6. You are 100% correct. It is a good warning to all of us to read - even the fine print to make sure we know what is being offered. Back to the OP. Recently they no longer offer the 1 year to make a future booking and have only offering a 6 month period to book.
  7. Interesting. As usual Celebrity is consistently inconsistent. Mine which was from December 19th says When you make a Booking Now, or convert a Booking Later reservation to a confirmed booking you will have the option of booking under a Non-Refundable Fare or a Refundable Fare
  8. Could you provide a source for you statement. I know for a fact you can book either a Refundable or Non-Refundable. I've done it. Even when booking with an agent on the ship they will ask if you wish a Refundable or Non-Refundable deposit. The Refundable Fares are often $1,000 + more so not really relevant. I specifically did it as it was as ghost booking waiting for the new cruises to be released and knowing I would move it to a new non-refunable cruise.
  9. Would be interested in finding out where you heard or read that. I've heard it a few times and just went into my folder - I booked two and used one so far. I also have a copy of the Book Later Form - It say I have 6 month to book something and after that I can not take advantage of the offer. It then says if I do not choose a cruise within the 6 month period my deposit will be refunded.
  10. I got my points yesterday but still not showing up in the total.
  11. Looking forward to following along on another of your adventures. I feel a bit guilty when I hear of your and Charla's weather and temperature forecasts. Here in California I was thinking it was chilly today at 54F. I grew up in Mass and Upstate NY so know how the cold is but one forgets how cold it really gets. I'm another big fan of FlightAware and track my inbound flights. I also often Google the Airline and Flight and then check the flights about a week in advance to see how often they are delayed. I need to have a Live Fix... Can't wait to read more.
  12. Yes you create an account and then choose the CC Minute that will show as an option. The minutes can be used incrementally, just make sure you log off after each session or they will all be used up next time you log on.
  13. I will point out that a couple years ago Celebrity encouraged parents to bring their children to Specialty. Originally a child paid the same as an adult and now for example on my next cruise is $8.99 for a child. It is part of their strategy to attract younger families to Celebrity. Having said that, recently I was on a cruise and in came a couple with a 6 month old baby. Of course they sat them right next to us. I though to myself ---- -OH NO!. As expected the child started whimpering and to my surprise the Dad hopped up and took him out of the dining room. 20 minutes later he came back with the baby fast asleep and next time the child started whimpering the Mom jumped up and did the same. I forgot to say they were dining with one of their parents --- The third time during desert the Grandma got up. They were a really respectful family and we actually were all chatting while enjoying their close proximity. Remember - It's not the child because he is doing what he does it is the parent that I really commend for being respectful of other guests and their own family. In the ead everyone had a wonderful evening.
  14. Luckily in Royal Suites and above it is included. Also Elite and above get 1 scoop for free
  15. Best advise is to check with your Medical Provider - The requirements may vary by where you are from and where you have traveled to - Our Health Provider - Kaiser Permanent has a Travel service. You make an appointment and answer a questionnaire. A nurse practitioner goes over what is required and then talks about what she would recommend e.g. Tetanus (TDP Combination) and Hepatitis-B Example - the government of Thailand requires proof of vaccination against yellow fever from all travelers who are coming from countries that have a risk of contamination.
  16. Ahh good to hear. Iain is from Ayrshire. Burns' backyard. We often go hiking in Burns National Heritage Park when home an often go to the Burns Center for afternoon tea. A burns dinner is always a treat but often things like Haggis Stuffed Chicken is often served on New Years or Christmas dinner when we go out to eat. Being an American - a little goes a long way.
  17. My husband who is a Scot was interesting to find out if they served something like Chicken Stuffed with Haggis or other Haggis dish.
  18. Your Passport or other documentation if you don't have a passport. E-Docs are not require nor do I ever print them. You may want to print your luggage tags but this also is not required - just makes it easier.
  19. Check the 1/13 Apex on the cruise app. You should be able to select Daily Planner Tab and see what is on the current cruise. I don't believe beyond that anyone will know what will be. Just select the day and then browse the time of the shows and what's on.
  20. Once your friend creates her account all she will need is the Reservation number and she can add to her account. BTW - you can go in using the App and just go directly to Arrival Time and select the same time. She can come back later and complete all the information or just use the express pass with her arrival time and the will complete her reservation on checkin. Even when you pre-enter the data they still take pictures of you Passport and take your credit cards.
  21. Also I did a quick google about your computer question - We also offer computers for guest use in our on board libraries, which are internet-accessible for those with this plan. The Premium plan includes everything from the Essential Plan, but also allows music and video streaming, clearer video calls.
  22. While I don't believe there is a Bible in every room, they do have a wonderful library and I'm only guessing but I would think there might be a bible if not checked out. I'm sure you will have no trouble obtain playing cards by inquiring at the pursers desk. You also may find other's looking for bridge partners
  23. Reading this thread is always a delight. Maybe Celebrity is doing exactly the right thing for their business plan. Maximize revenue and attract the new generation of cruisers. Since the new generation can be excited by having a means to quickly hit Elite or move from Elite to Elite Plus they love the Loyalty plan. They are comfortable with the changes and don't feel they have lost things like OBC's, Free Gratuities and aren't comparing the prices of things like wine and drinks or even the price of the Package to a couple years ago. They know many of us that have been their Loyal Customers for 20+ years are aging out and will be going away. To me it is just an invitation to look back at all the memories I've had and move on - I still like the product but in the last year I can't say I love it. I hope their strategy works and I wish them and the new generation of cruise all the best. From my marketing background I just wonder what it will cost them to replace a 23 year exclusive Celebrity customer that sails in suites 3 or 4 months of the year. I have a feeling the next generation of cruisers will not be dedicated to a single cruise line and will jump ship at time like fees on a dog.
