  1. I've used both Roku and Firestick on almost all ships on Celebrity. Nothing has really changed in the past couple years. I find Firestick more adaptable if you need to spoof your location to watch your content. Firestick has a number of VPN's built in. No VPN is available via Roku.
  2. In my opinion the Glass Wall and Door is a major failure (not just the door). The bedroom get's rather dark as long as your partner doesn't open or peek through the drapery. If you even peak through or go out on the patio you will bath the bedroom with bright light. This will give you an idea - the panel are frosted but in my opinion do not block any light.
  3. One option the OP might use is their Free Internet Minutes by Status in CC. These minutes do not have to be used continuously and if they remember to log off every time they finish reading messages and e-mails can last the complete cruise.
  4. I've done a couple recently and they were approved and applied within 48 hours. I would suggest re-submitting using the online submission.
  5. Not sure how that would work on a TransAtlantic using the ships satellite connection. Some carriers offer a Internet at Sea but can be limited and expensive.
  6. I stayed in 2130 in the grouping below the OVC. Starting about 6AM it feels and sounds like a subway passing every 10 to 15 minutes. When I inspected I found it was directly below the dis washing area and they pull these heavy carts full of dishes out . It goes until 10 then resumes at lunch and dinner times. Would NEVER stay in that area again.
  7. They do sell addition connections. Check your cruise Planner and you can see the cost. CC discounts will be applied and it will show your price when you setup your account. Generally CC discounts are higher than what you get per-cruise.
  8. You can buy Internet for a 24 Hour continuous and 1 hour continuous period. Not sure of the current price but expensive. About a year ago these were the prices not sure if they have changed.
  9. 1- Are we able to ask for a lounge chair and a higher table for the outside balcony so it is easier to eat breakfast on? Recently it has been reported that his is no longer and option . 2- We do not care for some menu's in Luminae, we know we are also able to dine in Blu and are later eaters but does Luminae serve items from the Blu menu? Does Luminae offer Caesar salad and French onion soup? Are we able to get ice cream in Luminae? YOu didn't indicate which ship you will be on. E-Class more restricted but generally you can order from MDR menu and the MD may allow ordering from BLU with 24 hour noitce. Lumina has all the Classic menu items including Ceasar Salad and French Onion Soup. Yes they have Ice Cream but is limited to Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry and what flavor may be used on other deserts that evening. 3- I noticed there is no lobster tails served on our six night cruise, did they take away lobster on less than 7 night cruises? That has been reported on less than 7 night cruises. 4- During days in port, does the Retreat Bar stay open? Yes
  10. I can understand. We enjoy dressing up in Black Tie and Tux so not really a problem for us. The main reason we chose Cunard was that the price during a sale came in pretty close to Business Class Airfare from SFO to Europe. We figured we could enjoy a new experience and try Cunard for our first cruise with them. We ended up booking for 2025 also to Join Oceania Vista which will then match up with a Celebrity Lisbon to Buenos Aires. This one may be an unfair comparison as we were able to book the Owner's Suite on Vista.
  11. Thanks -- in the next 3 months we will be doing an Ocania, Cunard and a Celebrity. Should be interesting. Cunard will be in Queens Grill and not an Upper Suite as they were sold out but I understand it could compare to a Sky Suite.
  12. Just tell the Restaurant manager when you check in. They will accommodate your request. Unlike Cunard your table will vary each evening according do availability but they will make sure you have one with chairs. Your waiter will take care of you regardless of where you are seated.
  13. I would have ot agree that Luminae is superior on M and S class ships. May just be a personal experience spending 6 weeks on E-Class ships this year. Our personal favorite of the Specialty is Murano. I'm not a big fan of Le Petit Chef.
  14. No but the train is only 20-30 minutes to AMS and about 40 minutes to Amsterdam. LOL - or were you pulling my leg Joan about a Subway Sandwich.
  15. That wouldn't surprise me... I was just looking at my Silhouette November TA. Lots o Sea Days. They are now selling a Tour of the MDR kitchen with lunch And Pizza Making Class
  16. Never hear of that on Celebrity. They often have opportunities to eat with an officer. Also Officers often enjoy being invited to dine with you at a specialty (at your cost). Celebrity often have Lunch With the Captain and / or Senior Officer for Upper Suites and Zenith Members.
  17. Actually most reputable VPN companies encrypt all information that is going over the VPN connection. Per NordVPN - VPNs like NordVPN encrypt all your online traffic to scramble the data and keep it private. NordVPN uses the highest encryption standard available to VPNs today: 256-bit AES encryption.
  18. Re: Cabanas - Located on the Lawn Club. Per Celebrity Site Prices are as low as $249 per day and go up from there. Extra perks during your rental may include selections from a beverage menu, fruit skewers or fruit plates, and water. These will all vary between the ships. I believe they have a special on port days.
  19. Much will depend on which S-Class ship you are on. The only two ships that went through Revolution are Equinox and Silhouette. There was an accident in the ship yard and Equinox didn't complete the Revolution and only has part of the Retreat Sundeck - No Hot Tubs. - lower level is still Basketball courts. As for other question - very little shade. They do have a number of loungers that allow shade but they are grabbed quickly. Most like this I think there is a restroom Silhouette on deck 15 adjacent to the hot tubs. There are no bar as such. The deck crew get drinks from a back room
  20. Rotterdam is very similar to Amsterdam. In my view Rotterdam is probably more cab and Uber friendly. We were on a B2B and one disembarked in Rotterdam the other Amsterdam. Rotterdam is also very convenient to grab a Subway to Central Station and trains about every 15-20 minutes to Schiphol and Amsterdam
  21. Curious about when one receives their boarding time. We will be sailing in QG. New to Cunard. Never mind I should have Googled First - From 21 days prior to embarkation Complete online check-in via My Cunard and print your boarding pass and luggage labels Plan your travel to your ship's terminal to arrive at the time specified on your boarding pass
  22. I've never had the basic package but I have read many report that those wish Classic can do email, phone calls etc but if you are planning on doing uploading to Instagram and FB it can be problematic. Even with Starlink the ship throttles connections Premium about 4.5 MPS Download 2.5 Upload. Classic is more like 2 Download and less than 1 MPS upload (about old dial up speeds) A strategy may be to try the Classic and if it doesn't work upgrade. Upgrading just takes a couple click or stopping by the Internet Cafe.
