@springaussie Any idea what Quantum is doing April 2025 , I can see a repo to Alaska.

Any idea where Quantum is going April 2025 ? It usually does a repo from Brisbane to Seattle but I can see one. Is it going to stay in Australia year round ?

Maybe the coffee shop is the famous Lelepa ?

There’s some good deals with Spectrum’s repo next April. Qantas has it , 8 night cruise,with 3 nights in Singapore and 3 nights in Shanghai including airfares from $3000 pp twin share. Mustn’t be selling well with the Chinese.

You would know better than anyone but from what I can work out OPT would be suitable for a port visit but not for an embarkation day and turn around. Ovation goes smoothly on a good day but an oasis with 6,000 passengers on a bad day wouldn’t be nice. There would be some unhappy people.

What was Lelepa again ? Sydney Port authority has advised the state,that a cruise terminal in Botany would interfere with the container terminal operations. So there goes a oasis class for Sydney ,I don’t know where else they could put one.

Wait to see what our government wants to do about another cruise terminal. Sydney is pretty congested. Its very possible they will use a berth at the container terminal which would easily take an oasis class.

Just rumours. I think the biggest drawback is what kind of fuel would it use? At the moment the only viable fuel for a new ship is L.N.G and I don’t know if it’s practical for a smaller ship.

I was on voyager just after the first refresh in Singapore, I think it was 2019 . All they really did was put in a heap of extra cabins and a water slide. For some reason it was cut short.There was masking tape hanging from the ceiling,some seats where recovered and others weren’t. Pore old girl needs a bit more love. I believe Royal had another attempt in Europe before it went back to work.

It looks like only the 2 ships for the 25-26 season in Australia. Quantam is going to dry dock in Singapore before repositioning to Brisbane. Only Ovation in Sydney which seems unusual.

Bit of a stupid question,I’m pretty good in that department. So you get a new sim and a phone number. Can you install it before you go and do you have to set up a new account on Uber like apps. I’ve always used global roaming , it’s getting a bit expensive but I don’t want to have to get to a destination and then have to set accounts up .

I’m on the Quantum repo from Singapore to Sydney and it doesn’t look like any ships in Singapore before it . There’s a celebrity from Singapore to Hong Kong that works and that’s it. I wouldn’t mind a cruise before it but doesn’t look good.

Well I’m reluctant to to go to Newcastle on my $2.50 opel discount.

I don’t know,probably Fiji air or Jetstar. A balcony works out to about $150 a night, that’s not to bad. That’s from a local agent. But the thing I find strange is Royal is offering airfares ,a bit out of character .

Royal Caribbean has probably been reading there governments economic forecasts. Actually , Royal’s sales department and the ccp have a lot in common. They both make you scratch your head trying to make sense out of it and nothing adds up.

How did you find the food?

I bet my last Diamond drink that Spectrum won’t be doing very well in Shanghai. The economy there is in free fall . Anyone with money has one foot on an airplane and the other on a banana skin.

I wonder where Allure is going after it’s dry dock? we must be due for a Oasis class in Asia Pacific by then.

There’s also the staff shortage and the extra strain on the crew associated with tendering . Royal has been trying to reduce tendering world wide lately.

I’m not on this cruise but I have a lot of friends that are and there seems a lot of conflicting stories about compensation for Eden being dropped. Some people are saying they got something and some are saying Royal are definitely not giving compensation. Has anyone got some compensation ,because I don’t know who to believe .
