  1. Always grateful for BBC news on board. The Artist's Loft sounds interesting. Are there classes for the Stitch/needlepoint? Haven't done any of that in decades, but open to it for sure. What do you mean "by collecting Big O points"
  2. We are booked on our 1st Marina cruise and are very excited about it. It's a long cruise, 42 days, with quite a few sea days included. I know that there will be times when we just want to relax in our stateroom and I've been wondering what kind of television programming Oceania has on their ships, especially the Marina. I know some cruiselines have a few news channels and a couple other stations that usually play old shows. Princess has a large amount of free movies, Celebrity has almost none. Appreciate anyone who can provide info on what Oceania does.
  3. Thank you both for the hint about the PH rooms on deck 7. Just booked 7128 for our cruise!! I found a picture of the balcony and it looks awesome!!! Can't wait to try Oceania.
  4. Just leave it like every other day.
  5. Happy for you that it only lasted an hour, hope that continues. It was constant for me until I stopped taking it and even for a day or so afterward. Yes, drink lots of water!!
  6. Thank you for your comments. We will certainly look beyond the ports. I really don't care about shopping or cafes and DO want to see some of the beauty that I know is there. We spent 10 days in Peru a few years back and it was wonderful. I'm excited about this trip and we have pretty much decided it is a go for us!!
  7. I normally just check emails, FB, CC etc.so should be good. So does streaming actually work with this internet after you purchase it?
  8. Thank you for this. We have wanted to try Oceania for a long time and it looks like this will be the time.
  9. New to Oceania here but considering a Marina cruise in late 2024 to South America, 42 days in total. The difference in price between a Penthouse and Concierge Level Veranda is significant and trying to determine if worth it. I know the Penthouse is about 1/2 again larger than Concierge Veranda, and that's not really important to us because it's still a "room" but what else makes it worth your while to spend the extra $$. Is there a specific area of staterooms on the Marina where internet access is better? Bow/Aft/Middle? If in a Concierge is it very difficult to book the specialties after Penthouse's have had their chance? Are butlers all that helpful? We've had them many times on Celebrity and didn't really utilize their services much. Are some "Concierge" rooms better than others? Same with Penthouse? Any help you can provide is appreciated while we try to make up our mind on what room to book.
  10. Well that's not good. Are there some areas/staterooms on the ship that seem to have better internet access/connectivity?
  11. Well the OP was in a Celebrity Suite so I don't think that's true. Also, a few weeks ago there was a thread about a couple that was in a Royal Suite and wound up in an OV too....
  12. Yep, that's the "upside" of it for sure!!!😀
  13. It seemed to me that "sweet" things tasted more normal while eating them, like popsicles, fruit etc. and the Jolly Ranchers worked the same.....as long as each lasted.... the nasty taste came back almost immediately after finishing one.... hence my consuming nearly an entire bag of them. I also brushed my teeth at least a half dozen times a day to get the rid of the taste for a few minutes.
  14. No way it's only 6%........... that may have been in a trial but now that it's out for regular use that number has to be higher, I know at least a half dozen people who have tried it and ALL reported that godawful taste.
  15. Amen to that.... I opted for sugar free Jolly Ranchers...went through an entire bag... thankfully had no rebound.
  16. I took Paxlovid after a recent bout with Covid. I'm sure it helped me recover and have not had a rebound but the godawful taste it left in my mouth for the entire time I was on it and for many days afterward has made me wonder if I would do so again. I know I would wait until Day 4 before making the decision. I would rather have had the "no taste" symptom that Covid can cause then this horrible taste. It IS one of the possible side effects, supposedly only 6% get it but every person I know that has taken it has experienced this symptom...... nasty is everyone's description.
  17. Depending on where your cruises are you may not have to leave the ship at all. Our B2B in May was out of Southampton and all we had to do was meet in the theatre, go through the health questionnaire and then pick up our new sea pass cards and we were free to roam the ship or get off the ship if we wanted to enjoy the day at that port. We had to move rooms and the new one was ready by 9:30. If in the USA you will have to leave the ship for a short time before returning.
  18. Where did you read/see this? I just looked at the Oceania website and it still states testing is required.
  19. We did this with EMED tests, so easy to do, cost about $25.00. Just much easier than booking a test at Walgreen's or CVS and not knowing if you're going to have to pay for it or if your insurance will cover it. We brought tests with us on our last trip so we could test before our flight back to the US, thankfully that's not required anymore. Will also bring with us on our next trip to Italy because we will have to test before boarding our ship. Rather not have to search around Pisa looking for a testing site.
  20. $25.00 for an emed test..... so easy and no stress about cost.
  21. We used EMED tests for our sailing. They are accepted by Celebrity/Royal all cruiselines as far as I know. They do cost around $25 each. Can be ordered on line.
  22. The proctored tests are easy to use and at $20 to $25 well worth not worrying about whether CVS or Walgreen's or whoever decides to start charging far more than that 2-3 days ahead of sailing.
