  1. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/bNPUb8jSgAF43igM/?mibextid=WC7FNe Downtown Burlington, one day before the eclipse!
  2. I wonder what THAT is! Never seen the real stuff onboard, except in the tiny containers for room service
  3. We will be watching from our backyard! No state of emergency here, but the city is closing most of the major streets for most of the day, so good luck getting in or out!
  4. I haven’t heard the final stats for this year’s maple harvest, but last year’s was down from the year before. We will continue to bring our own when we sail 😊
  5. I live in Burlington, Vermont, which is in the path of the total solar eclipse on April 8. Our state of around 600,000 people is expecting to be invaded by 100,000-200,000 people over the next few days. 50,000-75,000 are expected to come to my city of 40,000. 😬 Many of them will be trying to travel home immediately following the event. Should be interesting!
  6. That’s what I’m seeing on their Instagram feed
  7. What is your correct loyalty status and what is it showing on your account?
  8. Is your loyalty status incorrect? Or are you just upset because your past cruises are not showing up?
  9. I think that would be a really old version
  10. Is that 135 passengers total or 135 world voyage passengers?
  11. @Riocca, wow! Certainly different from last year indeed! Enjoy your transoceanic - we sure did!
  12. Wish I had upgraded on my Antarctica cruise. The WiFi was miserable.
  13. I enjoyed most of my meals in the MDR with the exception of fish, which was generally overdone. I did have a really delicious grouper sandwich in the Patio one day. My DH had exactly the same spaghetti bolognese in the MDR and he paid for in Aqualina.
  14. Next, we were taken to a ranch outside of Buenos Aires. Those who could tolerate the mosquitoes, could take a carriage ride around the grounds and/or tour the original casa, now a museum, with its own private chapel. We were also greeted on arrival with delicious empanadas (beef or vegetarian), along with wine or soft drinks. Lunch was served at long tables and consisted of barbecued beef and chicken, accompanied by a variety of salads, beer, local wine, and soft drinks. Then we were entertained by dancers and singers (not pictured). Finally, we were treated to a gaucho demonstration of skill - a game involving spearing a hanging ring at a gallop. Perhaps not surprisingly, the owner of the ranch was the most accomplished! Everyone was ready for a snooze on the two hour drive to the airport! IMG_3912.mov
  15. We started our last day with a ship’s excursion with a panoramic tour of Buenos Aires, the highlight of which was a tour of this cemetery. It contains almost 5,000 mausoleums, including that of Eva “Evita” Peron. It’s a long tale as to how she ended up there, among the wealthy, elite who despised her (and who she despised in return). She is buried in her father’s tomb (he didn’t recognize her in life).
  16. A breakdown of the nationalities on this cruise!
  17. @uktog, so sorry for your travel home hassles! We thankfully made it back to Vermont without a glitch. I can’t comment too much about the entertainment onboard, as we mostly don’t attend the shows. But agree that music in the Den was too loud, as it always seems to be. We always choose to sit as far from the piano as possible. For the most part, we enjoyed the lectures, and the comedian was quite good. Yes, White Night was unfortunate, as was the weather on most of the cruise. If the weather had been better, all of those sea days would have been a bit more pleasant. Still, it was a “bucket list” itinerary and I’m glad I went!
  18. IMO, the food in the specialties isn’t all THAT much better than the MDR. Of course, I am not a red meat eater, so I can’t really comment about the quality of the steaks in Prime C.
  19. Fairly calm seas today and packing mostly done, so may actually be able to spend some time on deck this afternoon and have lunch on the Patio! The cloudy skies even seem to be clearing. Hallelujah!! 😀 Like many with a late flight tomorrow, we have a long excursion booked - a tour of Buenos Aires with a trip to a ranch with bbq lunch, a gaucho demonstration and airport drop off. Should be a nice end to the cruise.
  20. Oh no! Sounds like a potential nightmare! Best of luck to you!
  21. Agree. White Night is most likely going to be an indoor event, given the weather forecast
  22. Had a comedian performing in the Cabaret Lounge tonight - Mike Siegel. Very entertaining. He was supposed to join us in Ushuaia, but got held up, so will only be performing tonight and on our last night. Nice change of pace.
