  1. I understand the situation, YET, go prepared with a few menu items you want to be served in the MDR and request the night before... more often than not you can get it. I have rarely enjoyed or chosen items from the vegan/vegetarian menu since sailing with X over ten (10) years ago and rarely have issues with letting the chef know what I want... without any apologies. Have all the meals been excellent, no, but I got what I asked for and how I wanted it. As such, I recommend being pro-active on meal preferences/desires and ask to speak with the Chef who can help, as well.... Despite what is on the menu, I have found that there is no reason to not have decent to excellent meals on X if the menu items are not what we expect or want for our "special" diets. bon appetit and bon voyage
  2. Well, would they not have to walk or wait at the elevator to get there??? Besides, personally, I think the selections are better and the best when the pastry chef makes special things for vegans and place them at Al Bacio when I Am aboard... bon voyage
  3. Okay, I would presume that it is still in the oven baking and waiting for your request... bon appetit and bon voyage
  4. b2 - I have had a few of those types, but it gave me and a few others a leg up as we felt we knew just a wee bit more than the presenter... ... and we were some of the whisky snobs aboard... LOL and fortunately the better bartenders knew it and treated us well and then some i.e. no charge for the 'better' Macallan from time to time... Envision this: a group of men 57+ hoovering around the bar saving seats for each other so we can have our happy hour with the better offerings of bourbon, scotch and a few blends... LOL Slange Var and bon voyage
  5. gb8 it is not you. I do Resort Casual day and night on my sailings as my preferred dress code, even when renting an Alcove, while a few of my guests choose to wear shorts or bathing suits, which to me in the short run is not that revolting!!! Just not at dinner, please... LOL But that is just me and I get a lot of grief about being so 'formal' when I Am not, while on my vacation... I tell my friends "you dress you rather I would wear something similar or not"... LOL bon voyage
  6. It is a "fully inclusive" course... The enjoyment, learning or lack thereof is dependent on the person who is the leader. The tasting will include a history of the distiller, the various types available and a tasting of several different varieties available. You will be tasting various ones with and without water to experience the difference in taste and made aware of how to best drink it or not according to your taste and desire. Premium drink package has only covered one (1) of the up to six (6) different ones available on-board. But that may have changed since last year. I do a tasting on every X sailing I take and this year I will also do the Jack Daniel's tasing. Cheers and bon voyage
  7. KD - I Am very happy to hear about your complete remission as I Am sure you and your family are as well.. continued good health. While I Am not familiar with NCL's insurance coverage, I can only posit that if it is 'similar' to third party policies, while pre-existing conditions are covered, yet a change in protocols to manage the conditions can trigger a denial. Please re-read the coverages and exclusions related to 'pre-existing conditions' and I think it will spell out how these and similar situations will be handled. A caveat with insurance IME is "... if it is not specifically included, then it is excluded." unfortunately. In health and many more bon voyages
  8. gp not to worry, on this forum, this is what the 'experienced' posters and readers do to help protect those of us who understand that some coverage may be needed regardless cost of sailing... and have questions about the who, what, when, where and how much to consider. bon voyage
  9. I see what the issue is with the "screen shots" provided, you did not click through to a final price in order to determine if in fact there is a bag fee AND if so, what that fee is for the international flights, as far as I can tell. Plus it is for Basic Economy (based on what I read you posted) which is known not to include much of anything but a seat assigned at check in. Once you click through then you can readily see what the "potential" final purchase price AND compare cost of purchasing a basic economy ticket (with add-ons) vs a lowest bucket fare with all included. IMO that is how you can determine the value, to you, and if it is worth the purchase for you. Then you will have better grounds to comment on what fares are for your desired trip and ask about how to get lower fares which I believe is the question not asked directly or initially. bon voyage
  10. rnd - should be no issues. Only L&S had specific restrictions, as I recall. YET, you may want to call X to confirm the T&C's of your particular FCD. bon voyage
  11. tf - There are one (1) category upgrades for within the port hole and general verandah categories and NOT to/within suites. Or, do I need to say that I have received upgrades. I understand that upgrades are not available to those of us who sail in suites, though. bon voyage
  12. That was not the tenor of the question, the question is about currency to tip in when on an European sailing... bon voyage
  13. It does depend on the cask, too.. yet I do understand and I do use ice with the 25, too.... Cheers and bon voyage
  14. Actually, it need not be confusing.... Some of us travel to our cruise port with just a carryon in the cheapest seat offered by an airline. Some of us look at the cheapest cost of the seat plus addons and decide if it is worth it or not. Some of us know that we do not care for all of the 'add-ons' for the cheapest seats and opt for the lowest 'mostly' inclusive fare available at the time we book for minimal up-charges. Some of us know that we do not care for either seat type or service offered in coach on many airlines and opt to upgrade, rather that be full payment, points or ???? Those of us who have paid baggage fees, do so as overall it was the most economical way to get to and fro our destination. If the 'total cost' of any air travel is too costly to/fro certain destination, in your opinion, then you will need to be very, very selective as to when and how you want to travel for cost purposes and that is understandable by many of us as not everyone wants or can afford full fare coach, P(+), Business or FC.... At any rate enjoy and bon voyage
  15. To my way of thinking, based on the response, is wait until you board and then you will know for sure! If there are any issues you will be able to address them there based on 1) what you understand the policy is; or 2) what you want the policy to be, or 3) just go with the flow and not worry about it. Cheers and bon voyage
  16. I always and mean always, pending on the age of the bottle have either one (1) or two (2) cubes of ice in my Macallan's... LOL Cheers and bon voyage
  17. z - I use Macallan as the chaser for my tea.... LOL Cheers and bon voyage
  18. Well, just as long as I can continue to order and receive my Afternoon Tea w/ a Macallan shot at Café Al Bacio on my BP, that is all which matters to me... LOL Cheers and bon voyage
  19. 1) join your sailings Roll Call here on CC; 2) dl the app to see the 'potential menus' on your sailing; 3) after dropping carry on luggage in your cabin, go to Sunset Bar for sail away; and, 4) prepare to have a wonderful time of it all... I Am sure that others will chime in here and provide great input, too... Welcome and bon voyage
  20. I do not get these emails and only realize them when they are posted here.... LOL Which is great as those who choose to get them can spend more time posting about them as opposed to opting out, go wonder. Time to go pack!!! bon voyage
  21. Anything other than TA OBC, website once you log into your CP, will be there... bon voyage
  22. In many instances AI is the most economical, yet to do a comparison, you need to go to X's website and pull up the a la carte daily pricing add it up and compare... Good luck, welcome and bon voyage
  23. I think a check on the app may be in order to order lobster... bon appetit and bon voyage
  24. I Am sorry that the expected cabin categories are not appearing as desired, yet, since it is 'basically' a no charge sailing, I would think it would be fine. Can one bid up for cabins? I do get it, that if one plays a great deal while sailing they would come to expect better cabins and locations... Seeing that the BCC is independent of X, what could BCC do to get more and better cabins for the real high rollers? I will, possibly, become a part of BCC during our next sailing.... bon voyage
