  1. During the restart, mostly because of the double points promo, we booked a JS weekend on Freedom Fall '21 and a JS weekend on Navigator Fall '22 as fillers between other bigger/longer trips. Anyway, we choose Navigator for '22 since we've never been out of LA or been to any of the ports before, just like you. That said, we did not like the Navigator itinerary at all. If we had it all to do over again, we'd pick Freedom again.
  2. Along the lines of what you were saying about a bar or nightclub during the day, I'd say Dazzles. Nice view out the back. Plus, there is the Card Room, Deck 14 by the aft elevators. No view.
  3. We were in 1092 last Summer for 24 nights. We only heard noise occasionally. Never loud enough to be bothersome, never when we were trying to go to sleep, and never woke us up. I believe that it is immediately under the doorway between the inside and outside dining area. As such, there's really not much immediately above it
  4. No, but from what I understand, due to Texas liquor tax laws, selections can be limited until you enter international waters. It does not affect whether the DBP is active or not. The limitations in selections affect everyone, not just packages. We will find out how limited in 11 days.
  5. Good points. However, I don't have anything I use for travel that has a ground anyway😁
  6. I don't recall if they are technically C, E, or F, but never had any issue with the following. The first is E/F and the second is C, they all work. I travel with these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058EG0KC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 And a couple of these; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YDF8GCT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 And one of these. Bought this one many years ago. There are version that have USB-C PD ports on them now. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IUTIUEA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  7. I know AmaMagna does. My wife and I almost always sat at one for dinner. I can't remember whether or not AmaDante did, but we were a party of 9, so I wasn't really looking for 2 tops.
  8. We had JS 1092 on Jewel and our friends had 1094, both under WJ in Summer '22. Neither of us were bothered by noises. Not to say there was none, as there was some occasional noises, but it was only occasional and short lived and we were watching TV or doing other things at the time anyway. Nothing that prevented us from falling asleep and nothing that came close to waking us up. Other people have reported their experience being so bad that they were given an empty second room just for sleeping. I think it just really comes down to the person.
  9. Pretty sure that this is the answer. Post #9 above.
  10. This thread has 6 pages of drinks you could try. We have a cruise in a few weeks and will have the DBP for the first time (Star class), so I've been adding them to a Google Sheet. 🙂 If I'm counting correctly, it's currently up to 56 different drinks! But from past cruises, and very limited branching out, my favorite is the already mentioned BBC, my wife would say Portside Punch.
  11. Travel with these. Anything with a transformer in it will be fine. Your laptop has the transformer built in. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058EG0KC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
  12. It's a Pickleball court. I Googled for a some sort of media announcement, but first result was actually a full web page devoted to it on Ama's site: https://www.amawaterways.com/explore/wellness/pickleball
  13. We did the 3 night pre-cruise with Ama in Prague. We loved it. We'd definitely go back. Regardless of how you end up doing it, you should have a great time. If you didn't see it, the first post of my review thread for AmaMagna's Grand Danube covers our Prague pre-cruise:
  14. It was part of the original Amplification plans, but like I've said before, it will be interesting to see what they change from the original plan when it comes time to reschedule it. I've said similar about the Robotic Bar that @Ourusualbeach is saying about Portside. I think it's run it's course, and I believe that it's entirely possible that the go a different route. If so, my guess would be the Pesky Parrot, like Utopia will have in that same location. Here's the original press release: https://www.royalcaribbeanpresscenter.com/press-release/1403/new-amplified-adventures-on-royal-caribbeans-allure-of-the-seas-to-make-a-summer-splash-in-europe/
  15. Regardless of my opinion of it, it was part of the amplification that got postponed, and as close as we were to the amplification dry dock date before it was postponed, you'd have to believe that it was already manufactured (probably still in parts) and just waiting for installation. It's probably in a storage yard somewhere.
  16. Yea! Let's argue about the pizza quality in two threads at the same time. This one was started last Thursday, and has 12 pages already. It was also linked in second post in this thread. Please. let's kill this one, or at least have the mods merge it.
  17. What ship is that on? Symphony? It's not Allure like the OP asked about. Your pictures have the Abyss slide, which Allure does not have. I posted a link to a YT video from Symphony's Hiro. I know that show has a 3D flyer (high wire person). I tried looking up Allure shows, and don't see a similar act as part of their show in the YT videos posted (I'll find out in about a month), so that's why I asked if they might be adding one. I am not sure what other ships might have 3D flyer (aerialist).
  18. Are they possibly adding to the water show. Something like this (at timestamp) from Symphony:
  19. I wonder this all the time also. Even if they are well behaved, Even if they don't disturb anyone else, Even if they have a great time in the moment. I don't think a kid will remember until maybe the age of 5, maybe 4. I really don't think there's a point for the kid's sake, and there's really no relief for the parents. Yes, there's the kid's club thing, but it's got ending hours, and if you are bringing them and sending them there all day or evening, again, I also don't see the point. It's not for the kids. We never took our daughter on vacation until she was 4 or 5. Even so, she barely remembers her first trip or two. Possibly tiny fractions of things, but not a true "memory". We purposefully waited until she was 5 to take her to Disney. Agreed, not everyone has grandparents or a nanny. Growing up, my parents hired a live-in babysitter when they went on vacation. But I've also heard of kids staying with a trusted family friends or a friend's family. @sjb317, Yes, an 18 month old can enjoy it at the time, but they'll never remember it when they are older.
  20. Radiance class,. but basically for the itineraries more than the ship itself. Absolutely nothing wrong with the ship. But given the same itinerary, we'd choose an Oasis class over Radiance every time. Arctic Circle, Iceland & Ireland, Panama Canal (next spring), etc..
  21. Pretty sure the USB ports are USB-A. You can use a USB-A to USB-C cable We travel with a bunch of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058EG0KC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 And a couple of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YDF8GCT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 And one of these. Bought this one many years ago. There are version that have USB-C PD ports on them now. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IUTIUEA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  22. No. Not required nor requested. Wear what you want. In my review from a few months ago, I posted a section on dress. For reference, there were 59 passengers the first week and 107 the second week. Unlike @CastleCritic, I did see sport coats at the Captains Dinner. DressI think the average age on the first week was lower than the second week, and this seemed to be reflected in dress as well. We are both 54, and I think we were right in the middle the first week. The second week, I think we were on the lower side. I feel that in general, people the second week dressed up slightly more than the first week. Less jeans, sweatshirts, that sort of thing. This was a slight difference, not drastic. The first week for the Captain's dinner, I put on my sport coat and tie, and I think I was one of three sport coats, and maybe the only tie. Seemed like what I've seen in recent years on Royal Caribbean for "Formal" night. Anything goes (ok, not that bad), but some people like to dress up. Next week, just my designated dress shirt, and I was probably in the minority.
  23. Not sure if CC will do anything about your post. You're not allowed to mention specific travel agents/agencies. However, the one you mention is not affiliated directly with AmaWaterways, and is not "booking direct". From what it sounds like, if you don't have one, they will recommend one. The one you mention should be nothing more than that. The fact that they "transferred you" seems a bit curious though. The travel agent I used was a local person recommended to my wife. She was about useless. She didn't do anything other than act as a middle man for making the actual reservation and collecting the money. This post reminded me that I should shop around for someone else to make our 2025 plans. It would be nice if you could book direct.
  24. We booked in Jun of '21 for Mar/Apr '23, almost 2 years out. That time of year, the weather was not as nice, and that was reflected in the price. For just the cruise itself, in an AB (what we actually booked) we paid $762.59 per person per night for the first week and $689.33 for the second. Both weeks had a early booking discount 5%, and the second week a 10% B2B discount. Also $100 per person discount on both for being a repeat Ama cruiser. The 3 night pre and 4 night post both came out to $300 per person per night, which brings the average for the full trip down a bit. This was a bit of a splurge, but figured it was AmaMagna. If we had it to do over again, we'd still do it. It was amazing to experience.
