  1. If you don't log off first, it just randomly boots one of the other devices. I don't know if anyone has established how it decides which one. Logging off first just gives you control over which device is disconnected. Whichever works best for your situation.
  2. Disney Adventures are geared to all ages. Just because it's "Disney" doesn't mean it's geared to just families with young children. Even without it being "Disney", as mentioned previously, Disney simply charters the full Ama ship. They have their own cruise managers. As I've mentioned in other threads, we've done 2 cruises with our family group that included kids. One with Ama (not via Disney) and the other Grand Circle). Between the 2 experiences (3.5 years apart) the kids were early teens to late teens. They all had a great time. In both cases, there were other families and family groups with kids younger and older. None of the kids in our group were ever "bored" and I didn't seen anything appearing like boredom from any other family's kids. But I think it's largely dependent on the kid. Can they entertain themselves? Are they interested in history? Architecture? or even just happy to explore other cities?
  3. As noted in my response previously, my experience was completely different. I've been on 3 Ama cruises, and 1 GC. 2 of the Ama ones were a B2B "Grand Danube" on AmaMagna. it was understandable that there wouldn't be any kids on those. But the other Ama was Rives and Castles, and not only did we bring kids in our family group, but there were many families and family groups, 2 of which were larger than ours. There were people of all ages on that one. The GC one also had multiple families, and people of all ages. Not as many or diverse as the Ama one, but still. And on both of those cruises, no one ever seemed bored.
  4. We really like both Ocean and River. We are Diamond+ on Royal Caribbean and have done a few river cruises. We have been branching out on RC doing things like the Arctic Circle, Iceland & Ireland, & Western Mediterranean. Panama Canal this spring and Greece next Fall. My wife & I just turned 55. Our first river cruise was in 2005 on Vantage (Budapest to Bucharest). My parents took my sister & I and our SOs. We were the youngest by far (like 30 years). The daily itinerary would list the number of steps (as in stairs) 🤣 I say it was far more interesting than fun. They catered to that demographic. Flash forward to 2018/19, and my parents wanted to take the grand kids on a trip. A lot of things were thrown around, and my sister and I came across river cruises via Disney Adventures. As we looked into that, realized that they charter AmaWaterways and it was cheaper to book that directly. So we booked Ama's Rivers and Castles from Nuremburg to Luxembourg for Summer 2019. Note that Disney charters the whole ship with their own cruise managers, so this was not Disney in any way. We were a family of 9, and there were many other families, including 2 family groups much larger than ours. We really liked Ama, so we booked Grand Danube on AmaMagna. Did that last Spring (2023). Had a great time (and AmaMagna is amazing). After booking that, my parents again wanted to take the grand kids on a Christmas Markets cruise. They are big fans of Grand Circle (my wife & I hate the cabins), and booked it before even asking. My daughter ended up not going, but even though my wife & I were not fans of the ship itself, the people were very nice and the overall the trip was good (December 2022). We have booked Ama again for spring 2025 for the Rhine from Basel to Amsterdam with our daughter and her fiancé. While we have really only been on 2 different cruise lines (Vantage ships were basically identical to GC's), we really like Ama. Their cabins are more like what you'd expect from an ocean cruise (at least compared to GC) and like the fact that there's different excursion options and different activity levels. Not to say that you won't find that on others.
  5. Did you unplug the network cable and power-cycle the TV? The newer interactive TV systems launch software via the network that doesn't support the input switching. You should get it to work if you unplug the network cable and unplug the TV and plug it back in again.
  6. pretty sure they will be told to go to 2 different elevators. One will go to 10 and the other 5. But if you're on 7 and want to go down 2 flights to 5, take the stairs 😉 What will be interesting to see is how it handles a mass of people wanting to go to basically all the floors, especially if there's a mass of people on multiple floors (like 4, 5, & 6 post-show). If you're on 4, and people want to go to 9, 10, & 11, would they all be directed to the same elevator and that will stop on 9 then 10, then 11? or if people on 4, 5 want to go to 9 & 10, will it start on 4, then stop at 5, then go to 9? or is it always a direct A to B thing?
  7. Beluga is what I thought of when I saw the Norwegian Epic for the first time. Compared to that, Icon is down right gorgeous! At least it's a single cohesive design and doesn't look like someone just dropped a 3 story motel above the bridge
  8. From the Bologna Autostazione, take bus 576 to Sant'Agata to visit the Automobili Lamborghini Museum (and factory). All though, looks like the factory tours are currently suspended until after May '24, don't know why.
  9. This (I clicked on this thread to post the same thing) 😆
  10. Specifically the Casino programs? No. But there was a thread about loyalty programs a few months ago. It apparently all started by people reading into something a Celebrity executive said in a webinar:
  11. That is the definition of those terms (no inquiring necessary 😁). Hopefully, they are using the terms correctly.
  12. Thank you for this! I would like to do this some day (my wife, let's just say, not as much as me😉).
  13. Suite benefits on Vision (Radiance, Voyager, & Freedom) class: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-are-the-benefits-of-the-suites-program Oasis, Quantum, & Icon follow the Royal Suite Class perks
  14. Our favorite is the Oasis class. We did Odyssey once. It's the only Quantum class we've done (technically it's a Quantum Ultra). I liked it fine, but my wife was not super crazy about it. That said, we are booked on her again in the fall for what was originally the Holy Land cruise, but is now the Greece and Turkey cruise. All things equal, I'd do Symphony. If Odyssey gets you to some different ports that you haven't been to before, that might be a reason to give it a shot. Even if you don't like it as much as an Oasis class, I doubt you'd have a bad time, and at least you'll know. 😉
  15. We stayed in one of the view/window ones on Symphony and really liked it. Noise was really not an issue, and liked the window seat. We really are not balcony users, so the lack of a balcony didn't bother us. We'd book one again. In fact, we had booked on Allure for her post-Amplification TA that was cancelled due to COVID. Maybe late fall 2025 we can try again 🙂
  16. As @Host Jazzbeau mentions, Disney uses Ama. It's a full charter with their own CM's, but sitll. Anyway, we did Ama's Rivers and Castles with 3 generations, our 3 kids were 10, 13, & 19. There we a number of families, including 2 groups larger than ours, and even a few kids younger than my 10 year old niece. I don't know how common or unusual that was, but the crew never let on that it was anything out of the ordinary, and they were great. Without attempting to compare, I would definitely recommend Ama. (Others mentioned may be great also, I just have no experience them)
  17. Early Welcome to the Big Ten! The championship game will be Big Ten vs. Big Ten in waiting. 😁 Sorry, but until next year, I have to root for Michigan by default.
  18. I would agree with the OP, but for other reasons. Having watched it a number of times in the evening, we watched it once when it was in the afternoon, and it was much more tame/reserved, and quite frankly kind of meh. The CD was obviously holding back because there were a lot more and younger kids in the audience, and that really affected the way the contestants answered also. That said, they need a larger rotation of questions. I swear it's the same questions every time, it's no longer a "must see" for us, and I doubt we'd ever go in the afternoon again. The other thing is that the prizes for the winner used to be much better. I think last time we watched it, they all 3 got the same bottle of sparkling wine, and on a Jewel B2B Arctic Circle then Iceland/Ireland (2021), I swear they didn't even have it on one of them, and on the other, no one got any prizes at all! They used to have a gift basket with a number of items, including things like 2 watch gifts sets in addition to the sparkling wine.
  19. In 2019 my family did the AmaWaterways Rivers and Castles (Nuremburg to Luxembourg) with 3 generations. At that time, my daughter was 19, my nephew 13, and niece 10. There were a number of families on this cruise, with a few kids younger than my niece. I know the kids in our family had a great time, and as far as I could tell, that was true for the other families as well. No one seemed bored at all. Many times we just hung out on our own sometimes playing cards. Saw the same from other families. And there's internet, so that's always self-entertaining. I would totally recommend As mentioned previously, Ama has a number of stops where there are active hiking and/or biking options. My sister's family did bikes at least once. In Trier, We left the ship early and walked over to the Roman Baths and Amphitheater on our own before meeting up with the walking tour near where they were starting. BTW, Ama is who Disney uses if you book a river cruise through their Adventures by Disney, but they charter the whole cruise and have their own Cruise Managers. In December of 2022, we did another 3 generation cruise, this time Christmas Markets with Grand Circle (my parents love GC - my wife & I, not so much) from Nuremburg to Vienna. This time my daughter did not go (graduated, new job, boyfriend). Sister's kids now 13 & 16. Again, other than not really liking GC myself, I think we all had a good time. My sister's kids enjoyed the Christmas markets, and usually did their own thing in the evenings, but sometimes watched the entertainment. (my wife & I didn't always watch either). On this one, there also some other families, but not as many as the Rivers and Castles one. My wife & I did the 2 week Grand Danube on Ama, that skewed older. I don't know if there were any 20-somethings. We recently booked Basel to Amsterdam on Ama for Spring of 25 with my daughter and her BF, and she has no concerns about them being bored or anything. Of the ones we've done, I would highly recommend the Rivers and Castles one for someone's first time, followed by the upper Danube (Nuremburg to Budapest), and probably the lower Danube last (cities visited are more depressed and the most recently recovering from communism).
  20. I never said they were on duty 24/7 or even actively preforming the task 24/7, but out in public, where non-service dogs are not allowed, the only reason they should be there is if they are, in fact, working or ready to work, at that time. Service dogs have down time, and their owners/handlers will have a command that they give to tell the dog they are "off duty". Even if they are not actively performing a task at that exact moment, they are still "on duty" until told otherwise. And many tasks a service dog can perform are passive. Seizers, diabetic alert (which btw, a stranger petting could really mess up the ability to detect the owner's blood suger), etc. Google "Can I pet a service dog" and the vast majority of responses are "no". The rest of the answers are "only if you ask first", but if the owners "never objected" as @George C indicated, then that would have been extremely distracting to the dog, if it were a true service dog. The owner would be constantly telling the dog that it was On/Off duty.
  21. Don't get me started on that. I am a huge supporter of legit service dogs, but this whole "emotional support" BS is just that.
  22. I would love to see them do this again, maybe in like 5 years, however, it does not appear that they got the response they anticipated, so I fear the likelihood is rather slim. 😞
  23. Then it wasn't a true service dog, and just some emotional support BS. A true service dog is a "working dog" and the owner would never allow anyone to pet it while it is working.
