  1. While you will get many responses to this question (it's somewhat of a hot button for some reason) keep in mind that in most ports all those porters do is roll your luggage over to a big cart (or pallet) which is then transferred to either a holding area or directly onto the ship BY SOMEONE ELSE! You would only be tipping the "front man".
  2. And even *with* medallion shipping costs you'll probably come out ahead!
  3. We never got a response from you as to whether the app is showing you at the correct tier level. ???
  4. I think this is their way to entice you to do more cruises....so you can get away from that color!
  5. That's what *everybody* has...it's just the name of the WiFi system that Princess uses. There is no other choice...
  6. That's *supposed* to be their "gold" color...not pretty, is it?
  7. You will most likely have some days where you have no internet...out in the middle of nowhere between SF and Hawaii...
  8. On many Princess ships over the past year...people are reporting that the WiFi is definitely no longer "The Best WiFi at Sea". Many itineraries have reported basically NO internet capability. Don't count on it...but ship location plays a big part in this. What ship and what itinerary are we talking about?
  9. Of course...getting the 50% off via the app is solely dependent upon the app recognizing the correct Captain's Circle tier.... Many have posted that it was not. They had to call Princess to get that resolved.
  10. I'm more in tune with the version by Three Dog Night...
  11. There would not be a link to a menu...only pictures that guests may have taken themselves. Plus...this could vary from ship to ship, itinerary to itinerary.
  12. Cannot help directly with your question...but sometimes a little detective work might point you towards an answer. Very often the "tour" operator (or hotel, whatever) will advertise via Tripadvisor and/or other type travel sites. You might take a look there and at least narrow it down.
  13. Wow! I think I would have complained to the Princess Excursion desk about that!
  14. The times that I have actually used the pax laundry it has not been loud at all...even *inside* the room. Sure...washers and dryers make a certain amount of noise but for the rooms I've seen there was only about 3 of each. They have cabin-style doors on them which stay normally shut so that cuts most of the noise. I personally would not have a problem booking across the hall from a pax self-laundry. I would probably avoid a cabin right next to one, sharing a wall. I *believe* you can select temperatures...but don't hold me to that! I've had very good luck with *my* shirts & such. My DW will not send any of her stuff, though.
  15. We have this excursion booked on an upcoming cruise. If you Google images for this, pretty much all you see are people that are either barefoot (predominately) or some type of sandals. A few have suggested "water shoes/slippers". Way back in the day when I used to scuba dive with my son, we would wear water shoes that are between the skin of your foot and the fins. They were very comfortable and protected your feet from sharp rocks. I'm just curious as to what others have typically worn (shoes) on this excursion? Any first-hand knowledge/recommendations?
  16. I can't say for absolute certainty...but once you have the cards, Princess considers them "same as cash" so I don't think you should have any issue. Actually...now that I think of it I have applied 7 or 8 on a single booking just within the last month.
  17. Just FYI...None of the cards I have been buying over the past couple of months have a PDF file with the email. There is a link in the email which takes you to an internet site where you can then print the "card". Of course, you could always "print" the card to a PDF file if you have that capability.
  18. I have always found that it will be MUCH quicker to just walk up to the bar. It is not unheard of to wait up to 20 minutes for a medallion order...maybe longer with a food order. Others will likely chime in and say "Oh no...I get mine in 5 minutes or less!" Well...how long does it take to walk up to a bar 50 feet away and just order?
  19. Thanks for coming back to clarify the situation and to put this one to bed!
  20. Slippers used with scuba diving are considered "water shoes" but are by no means waterproof. As @CruiseCrabssays above...you need these mainly for protection against sharp rocks...not to keep your feet dry!
  21. There's no place to such online or pre-cruise. As @EDDY0827says...go to the Captain's Circle Host *onboard* the ship and they will gladly tell you.
