  1. Thanks ! Thankfully we also have our flights on SW with points, so no problem if we cancel. Intriguing offer. mac_tlc
  2. You should be able to “share” the FCC across all guests. Here is a screenshot of what the TA would see as an option when they apply the FCC to the reservation. Early on in Covid days, when there were a ton of FCC’s, they were only applicable for the listed guest. Later on, can’t remember when exactly, they allowed sharing across other guests on the reservation. You should be fine. mac_tlc
  3. What date? We are booked on the 8/16 sailing and would think long and hard about taking such an offer. Being retired, time is not as much of an issue. My daughter is a teacher so I understand those time constraints. Good luck with whatever you choose. mac_tlc
  4. We have two SV’s on Edge next month. We will be requesting — and responding accordingly. mac_tlc
  5. I believe I first learned of the glory that is cabin 1100 from Beachammo’s posts here. Whenever we sailed Radiance class, I tried to grab it! My condolences to the family during this very difficult time. mac_tlc
  6. I’m following along, and undoubtedly it will trigger wonderful memories of our Fjord cruise last year. Hope you have great weather! This was our weather in Flam last year!
  7. If Celebrity uses the same area as Royal uses for Suite guests, take a hard left after you go through security. It’s nothing compared to Port Everglades Terminal 25. mac_lc
  8. Beyond or Ascent. The Sunset Bar areas on those two ships are one of the best improvements over Edge/Apex. mac_tlc
  9. Abby, It has been fun following you these past two weeks. So far, Beyond is our favorite X ship and we look forward to being on her this Thanksgiving. Look forward to your Apex adventure. Our trip to Norway last year is our most memorable yet !!! mac_tlc
  10. I agree. In a similar fashion, I flew out of Bradley Airport in CT yesterday. Early flight, thought about an Egg McMuffin at McDonalds until I saw the price. What is now typically $4.99 that used to be $2.99 was $10. mac_tlc
  11. I understand it well. I believe you have confused Celebrity’s Go Green with my off-topic experience on Royal with their once a day stateroom service. Ok, now back to our regularly scheduled programming. Sorry for the sidetrack but….. oh, never mind.😜. mac_tlc
  12. As I suspected might occur, the thread has deviated from the discussion of Celebrity’s Go Green program to my experience on Royal last year with their change to once-a-day stateroom service . You are correct on GoGreen, we have used it a lot and have not had any degradation of service with it. mac_tlc
  13. Not sure what the “incentive” was. When we booked the cruise, the service level was “twice a day”. And there is no option to go to twice a day service once Royal changes to one a day. Ironically, when they offered twice a day, someone could always request once a day— but the opposite is not true. mac_tlc
  14. At some point, a lot of little inconveniences add up to a lessened experience. Many of these changes by all cruise lines, but certainly by Royal and X, have pushed responsibility to the passenger. X’s failed butler experiment was a clear example. We had an aft cabin, sorry I’m not walking a cup to the elevators every time the tiny garbage can is filled because it only gets emptied once a day due to a service level change initiated by the cruise line with no advance notice, no fare decrease and no gratuity change. mac_tlc
  15. We were asked and choose mornings. So the room was done late morning. Towels were used then, and usually exchanged — except for the washcloths which seemed to be forgotten often. By the next morning, they were all used at least twice and began to pile up. Possibly a towel or two occasionally from the Solarium? Not sure what the presence of a washer/dryer in our home has to do with service on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. The trash can was tiny, any time we happen to grab a coffee and go back to the room with it, which happened almost every day, those two cups filled half of it. Maybe some of the unnecessary printed art auction materials took up some space, along with a few tissues. The bathroom can was even smaller and was also full. We do a light breakfast by room service usually so there is a tray. Maybe a couple of used iced tea or milk glasses from the Windjammer and/or Cafe Promenade made there way back to the room too at some point. My point is, they lessened the service level, did not lower the fare or, more importantly, the gratuities that paid for that service, and there was a definite impact on our enjoyment of that service. Thankfully the trip was to Norway and the itinerary made up for any shortcomings on the ship. mac_tlc
  16. We have also started looking elsewhere, but there are some decent suite prices to be found on X. Not as low as Covid-era, but better than a year ago. We have a SS on Beyond in December for less than $390 pppd. Xcel in 2026 was the same when we booked it. Not now. We are looking at Equinox TA or Silly Repo next Spring. Both are relatively decent. We are E+, but that is irrelevant unless the price is competitive. All lines have done the same thing. Royal's suites are obscene, especially Icon (How about over $20K for an Owners Suite for 2?) and Wonder. Silversea recently raised prices a lot. We were looking at an SS for a Spring TA. It was $8500 for two a few months back, now its $14,000. We booked the Oceania Vista TA for Fall 2025 in a PH2 for $9100 for 2, now its $11,600. MSC Yacht Club prices have increased in the past six months. Probably as a result of all the other cruise line jumpers. I guess my point it that it isn't just X with the price increases. Some decent prices can be found but it takes some hunting nowadays. mac_tlc
  17. We have done Go Green on almost all cruises since they introduced it. We have noticed no difference. Room still visited twice a day. Seemed like free points to us. Our cruise on the Jewel of the Seas last year was our first Royal since they cut back on service to once a day. It was awful. And they didn't lower the price or the gratuities. That was truly paying more for less. Terrible. Piles of wet towels in bathroom, overflowing trash cans, room service items occupying almost all counter space. mac_tlc
  18. The only time we were in a JS and had the opportunity to eat at CK we had the Diamond Lounge (now Crown Lounge) concierge check and make a reservation for us. We did not know what our plans were for the week on Day 1, so we went to the lounge on the first night when the concierge was there. mac_tlc
  19. Was it the Dutch Pancake House you went to in Aruba? We discovered it on our trip in February. After visiting Pancakes Amsterdam more times than I care to admit when we were in Amsterdam, it was a great find! A couple of pictures for those who may be interested!
  20. Isn't 8 days on 4/4/26 about the right duration ??😉 mac_tlc
  21. Sorry about the October 2024 Med cruise but lets make some lemonade outta those lemons!!!! mac_tlc P.S. Congrats on the new home and the grandkids. They are the best!
  22. Absolutely stunning pictures and a great description of a self-guided tour! Thank you for sharing. mac_tlc
  23. Thanks for update on Nova & Rozi! We are on the Beyond Thanksgiving week so I hope they are back by then. If they have their typical two months off, they could definitely be back by then. You never know if they will come back to the same ship. Rozi was originally slated for the Ascent, but they couldn't have all the top Luminae servers go at once so he ended up back on Beyond. We really enjoy Eden. It's our favorite specialty on E-class. mac_tlc
  24. Our first HAL cruise will be this one ! Looking forward to our aft Vista Suite for all those sea days. It is convenient getting to Hawaii by only flying to San Diego. We will fly in three days early and enjoy the area a bit. mac_tlc
  25. Here’s hoping that is with us on the 4/4/2026 Silhouette with @Stem to Stern and others 😜. I am also seriously eyeing the 4/28/25 Silhouette repo to NJ. mac_tlc
