  1. I do believe the couple from the original article did have kids, which is probably why the question of what to do when they are in college was asked.
  2. Our cruise this summer includes Brugge on a Monday. I know from experience that many museums in Europe close on Mondays. Does anyone know if museums, primarily art museums as DW is a retired art teacher, are open or closed on Mondays in the summer? TIA
  3. Thanks, I do now realize it is in the wrong Europe forum. Because our cruise continues on to Norway and Iceland, I was thinking of this forum. My bad, I shall post in that other forum.
  4. I know many museums in Europe close on Mondays. We will be in Brugge this summer on a cruise on a Monday. Does anyone know if the museums, especiall art museums as DW is a retired art teacher, will be open or closed on Mondays in the summer. TIA.
  5. OOPs, to late to edit, that of course should be IF so (not IS so)
  6. So maybe they should pay for more entertainers in order to take away all that free time for passengers to check for overcharges. 🤦‍♂️ The bean counters are going to have to carefully evaluate that.
  7. Thanks. I expressed myself poorly when I asked the question about tender tickets for those on an excursion. I of course meant to confirm that one does not need to do anything to get those tickets if booked on an NCL excursion.
  8. Definitely learned something from this thread that the tender tickets become available the day before. Would I be correct in assuming that if one books one of NCL's excursions, tickets are automatically provided?
  9. IIRC, we had a similar after 4 PM with a 4:05 flight going from Dover to Heathrow via Canterbury. I worried about making our flight, but it all worked out well. And the excursion was well worth the extra we paid for it. We were going to do the Southampton to Heathrow via Stonehenge in 2020, but alas of course the cruise never happened.
  10. It sounds like from this post and the one previous to it, that if HAL wants to survive they better get a whole lot of new customers as they are turning off their present customers. It's really a shame one has to spend so much of his or her vacation time checking their onboard account for overcharges. 😒
  11. Thanks, maybe you have had less chances to be overcharged as you drank less than Hank and Hank's wife. And I assume no undercharges 😉 And it does sound like getting the shorex overcharges fixed takes more of an effort than getting the overcharges fixed on drinks.
  12. We also thoroughly enjoyed a British Isles cruise on Princess, but it was on the very small (less than 700 passengers) and no longer in the fleet, Ocean Princess. The smallness of the ship made it a unique experience allowing you to really meet fellow passengers and even crew members.
  13. Just out of curiosity, did you find yourself overcharged at times for drinks or per the excursion credit like Hank did?
  14. The OP specifically said EVERY mistake was an OVERCHARGE.
  15. You could spend some of that OBC. 🤣
  16. Well the rest of us will miss having a second voice commenting on the cruise and the port experiences.
  17. I hope you are right, but as Hank has pointed out numerous times all the errors seem to be overcharges. That just does not sound random.
  18. Could those overcharges be part of the corporate strategy to whittle down the massive debt that Carnival Corporation is saddled with? Not everyone is going to be as diligent as you in finding them and then taking the time to have them corrected. Since it would be silly to assume this is only happening to you, are there massive lines of passengers demanding that overcharges be taken off their accounts?
  19. I once bought OBC the same way for a HAL cruise and was also worried about not using it all. Would AMEX claw back the reward? Then DW told me she wanted the most expensive excursion about Anne of Green Gables, and I no longer had to worry about spending it all. But, one way some have said you can get around this is if you have a different card, use that other card for your onboard spending.
  20. If you have an online account for either, look at the bottom of your homepage. There should be a few offers plus see all 100. Click on see all 100. You do not need to go through the entire 100 since there will also be subcategories. One of the subcategories is travel. Click on that, and it will either be there or not be there.
  21. Checked, and I don't have it on my card. We are past final payment, but I was considering buying OBC, and then using a different card while onboard.
  22. And you can also reward them by writing them up as crew members who made your cruise special. This helps them get promotions.
  23. Yes, the idea once you settle on a cruise is to enjoy it, not to see if it is better or worse than any other cruise or cruise line you have sailed.
