  1. If it is not enforced, being required in meaningless. Even you have to see that.
  2. Isn't it nice when you ask for advice, and it all works out like it is supposed to.
  3. No, when I first posted the Yankees were not yet in Toronto and were going there by first flying to Buffalo, and then by bus. They are now in Chicago, and I am sure the reverse is also true where they bussed to Buffalo and then flew to Chicago. It works both ways. And I agree with you it would not only be major league baseball teams doing this.
  4. Yes. You can do it through Carnival. Or have your TA do it with the paperwork you send to him or her.
  5. Thank you. I have been trying to get the feel for the general passenger makeup on NCL. Your post is very helpful. I hope I find more passengers like you.
  6. It is really a shame that the tourist industry in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Estonia, etc. will all be so negatively affected by Russia's aggression in the Ukraine.
  7. No problem with that, but I thought it should come with the warning that things could change at any time and quickly.
  8. I agree that Peggy's Cove is way overrated. Also with the Mona Lisa, I remember having to deal with not only not being able to get close with the hundreds of tourists gathered there, but also it seemed all of them had selfie sticks held high above them. 😒
  9. Same reply I made to Chiefmate that I am glad you responded even though we have different ideas about cruises. From reading the Norwegian boards, I have become aware that more have your opinion than mine. I just wonder how many who feel like me I will find when we sail on the Prima the summer of 2023. Just wanted to add that I have now read reactions to my posts. And I see a poster who seems to like my posts in this thread, so I have some hope that although I will be in the minority, there will be some who feel like I do.
  10. Thank you for replying. We are different, and look for different things from cruises, but I respect your opinion.
  11. As soon as you have the confirmation that you bought the necessary 100 shares, you can apply.
  12. Our first cruise was in 2002, and started in Barcelona. That was a time when the cruise industry as part of the travel industry was still reeling from the events of 9/11/2001. Royal Caribbean gave us and the others who had bought transfers a tour of Barcelona that included the Sagrada Familia. DW and I were both mesmerized by the Gaudi architecture.
  13. Just remember that the rules can change at any time. Whatever is allowed or not allowed now could very well change. For instance there have been ships that sailed with masks recommended that ended up with masks required.
  14. Just wondering---all you loyal NCL cruisers who do not want to meet and dine with other people on your cruise, do you participate in roll calls and join private tours with these strangers from the roll call? I know for instance on a Princess Baltic cruise, I set up a private group tour in St. Petersburg, Russia. There ended up 10 of us all together, and we really bonded well. Just wondering, not being critical of anyone else's preferences.
  15. They really ought to extend when your final payment is due given the circumstances.
  16. I should also add even if they carried drugs approved by the FDA, they cannot possibly carry all of them. For instance, a prescription was called in recently for DW, and we received a phone call from the local Walgreens that it was not on hand, though they would get it soon (which they did). This would not be as easy for a ship at sea. I suppose that the poster who wants them to have FDA approved drugs would complain if his or her prescription drug was not among those available on the ship.
  17. There once was a book The Ugly Americans by IIRC Vance Packard. This is the kind of attitude the book bemoaned. And they do not carry "what they like". Rather they carry the medicines approved by the country they are flagged under. So, if you want to definitely have FDA approved medicines onboard, sail on a US flagged ship. I guess that lives you with the choice of the NCL Pride of America and various river cruises within the USA.
  18. Unfortunately, the way the stock market is going, it may very well get there or even lower.
  19. Yes, it is still available. Nothing has been done to negate it. It is a marketing tool, and it would be counterproductive to take it away.
  20. I am not at all surprised you forgot about the Little Mermaid. 😊
  21. And the same goes for US into Canada. I saw recently that major league baseball teams going to Toronto are flying into Buffalo and then taking buses to Toronto rather than flying to avoid the testing.
