  1. He's great! I've been on several ships with him at the helm. He's works out at the gym all the time, usually late afternoon around 4 when I'm there.
  2. I don't recall any Carnival ship having those types of water dispensers and the only cruiseline that I'm aware that have them is Virgin.
  3. You are in for a treat! The food beats ANYTHING Carnival has, including The Mardi Gras. Just no nightly Comedy Club or Piano Bar.
  4. Exactly. It's a cruiseship with thousands of passengers, not a gastronomy restaurant with 25 tables and 50 covers a night.

  6. Thanks for a great review. I no longer have the patience to do an extensive review like yours so I thank you for all your efforts. BTW my parents were in 9172 so they were near your parents. If you saw an elderly Asian couple that was them.
  7. I'm curious if this was in response to my post and/or if you had noticed this prior to seeing my post about it?
  8. The September TP on the Luminosa has been selling quite well for a 30 day journey so I highly doubt they would cancel it.
  9. I would agree the amps of the USB ports bedside are lower than the ones in the box. The one in the phone was useless, too underpowered to charge at all.
  10. Great review and there was nothing I had a differing opinion with. This particular sailing did indeed have an older average passenger age than our other recent Celebrity sailings.
  11. I would agree the Beyond corridor is the most intimidating. There's a section in the middle that at first glance seems (at least to me) to be the end with a mirrored wall but it's an optical illusion. I did get used to it eventually. It made for a great backdrop for a Halloween photo of my husband in his Star Trek Captain's uniform.
  12. Junior suite = sky suites Diamond = Elite
  13. What times did you generally go to eat? We've been going around 7pm. I do see in this cruise lita of people coming at 8pm.
  14. *Photos of the Sunset Bar. It's a huge space, with multiple seating areas and levels. On the Port side there's a ramp off of the main pathway to the actual bar that goes to lower level seating areas, with further steps that lead to the outdoor seating area of the Oceanview Cafe. The Starboard side leads to the Rooftop Garden Grill and the Garden itself. The Sunset Bar itself is covered with a solid roof overhang. There have been reports that it still gets sun. What people don't understand is that there's no way to control the angle of the sun and how and when it's going to hit the bar. If designers compensate for every sun angle you'll have a bar and seating areas that's covered 24/7.
  15. *The infamous brownie that used to be exclusive to Eden Cafe is now also available at Cafe Al Bacio. It's yummy yummy but doesn't look exactly the same as on the Apex and Edge. Those brownies had a extra baked top layer. These on the Beyond don't have that extra browned top layer. Decadent nonetheless.
  16. The wait times in the MDRs have been either non-existent or under 10 minutes. Yesterday was the last Chic Night and although my parents had zero wait at Cyprus and had good service Blu was another matter. Although we didn't wait for a table at 7pm service was extremely slow. They were all working very hard but it took the sommelier 30 minutes to get to our table. It took 75 minutes to have one appetizer and entree. We skipped dessert and coffee because we wanted to get to the theater to get seats for the show.
  17. The Elite Happy hour is no longer at one place but at all bars except Magic Carpet and all restaurants. Your travel companion can't order any complimentary drinks, but your drink benefit is unlimited from 5-7. Yes, you'll get a discount when purchasing wifi packages. The Elite breakfast does include juices and smoothies. It's either held in the Tuscan Restaurant or The Bistro. I don't have the times at the moment. The free thermal suite doesn't apply on Edge class ships nor is there a discount for spa access. No sidewalk sales of inexpensive items on any Edge Class ship. They do occasionally discount items at the end of each particular season.
  18. No self laundry rooms on Excel class ships.
  19. I thought they all had great voices. Some numbers were better than others. I wish they sang the whole Bohemian Rhapsody, their voices were great on all the Queen songs. Their choreography is a little hokey.
  20. Currently on the Beyond. We are Elite+ and my husband is Sapphire with BCC. We didn't get any emails about the preview cruises. I don't think your assumption that those are the qualifications are correct.
