  1. What's great about the Venezia is the Main Lido Deck is covered, so it's perfect for cold weather itineraries and embarkation ports. Unlike Celebrity and Royal Carnival and NCL has few ships with at least one indoor pool (Spirit Class is the exception)
  2. Where are you getting three ports? It's FIVE. Wardenmude, Stockholm,Copenhagen,Helsinki,Tallin.
  3. Thank you for your writeup. we'll be doing this cruise in February. Your Celebrity experience is EXACTLY what a Celebrity cruise is, so there was nothing out of the ordinary on your particular sailing. Celebrity is a 'Make your own Fun' cruise experience. As for ship size Royal doesn't currently have any ships in this tonnage, the closest would be the Quantum class which is a bit larger or the Radiance class which is smaller and the same size class as the Millennium Class on Celebrity. Seems like you've been sailing Oasis class and larger and thus the Solstice Class at 122,000 tons seems small to you, but it really isn't. I don't think sailing the new Edge Class is going to be much different for you since it really doesn't have any more of the features that you're seeking in a cruise vacation.
  4. Nearby Rostock is a lovely little town and actually I was quite impressed with the boardwalk (wide concrete pathways) at the beach in Wardenmude. Edit: photos of Wardenmude, Rostock.
  5. I was on the Apex in Retreat last December and specifically asked for part of one entree to be plated with another. Instead they brought out both. The photo below shows what was served when the request was Scallops on a bed of risotto. I was annoyed and thought in Luminae I would get the service I requested, which tbh wasn't that big of a deal and it was precisely to avoid food waste and clutter on the table. I was chastised for be annoyed about this. 🤷
  6. Paper Bags haven't been used for a long time. It's nice reusable cloth bags. You send them out and receive the cleaned clothes in them (wash & fold).
  7. The other thing I forgot to mention is once you reach Elite+ level (Comparable to Diamond+ on Royal) one of the additional benefits is complementary espresso based coffees and premium teas throughout the ship, throughout your cruise. So at Cafe Al Bacio and even in the Dining rooms you won't have to pay for premium coffee or teas (any alcohol added beverages are excluded). Again no special area dedicated to this.
  8. Depends on the layout of the ship. On Excel Class ships the locker rooms are most definitely NOT in the gym(It's nowhere near the gym) but in the spa. Having said that the locker rooms on Excel Class ships are accessible to ALL cruise passengers AND although it may not be apparent there's a complementary Co-ed sauna that free access to all passengers (From either the men's or women's locker rooms you use the REAR door to access the complementary co-ed sauna). There's also a complementary co-ed sauna on the Sunrise which is located outside the men's and women's locker rooms.
  9. Celebrity, unlike Royal, doesn't have a dedicated space for higher level Loyalty Club members; NONE of their ships have it. The only thing that's available is every morning there's a designated restaurant space, usually the Tuscan Restaurant but sometimes The Bistro on E-Class ships where Captain's Club Elite and above members can enjoy a continental breakfast that includes espresso based coffees, smoothies and fresh juices. It's a very nice setup but no hot breakfast food items are served, not even oatmeal. There's no additional charges for this or the previously mentioned beverages.
  10. The Venezia should satisfy the critics that complained the Vista Class was 'Boring and Bland' and actually liked the older Farcus designed ships that had some FUN,COLOR,STYLE ELEMENTS designed into them. So here's a ship that's has an updated decor, a THEME, and crazy, fun design elements (a real Venetian Gondola in the MDR!!!).
  11. There are full kids facilities, slides, ropes course. What makes you think there isn't?
  12. Obviously a misprint, probably used an existing template. There's no deck 15 and definitely won't be installing a rollercoaster on the Venezia.
  13. I was on the Beyond 10 days ago and the coffee in the buffet was every good.
  14. You should definitely call again. We received our email on October 25th for our November 21 Celebration sailing.
  15. So it does seem that it's a permanent change on the Beyond that there isn't a fixed early or late dining option available and all four MDRs are fully anytime dining. Thank you for reporting this!
  16. $219 is the standard price. Occasionally they offer it at a lower price which is why you see the $119 but $219 IS THE CORRECT PRICE.
  17. People should be aware that on the Beyond the SAME dining venues that are on the previous two E-Class ships may have different food choices and one shouldn't ASSUME that the muneus are the same across the fleet. I did just that and I was highly embarrassed at what I did. We dined at Cyprus Restaurant and for dessert without looking closely at the menu I asked to order the special Greek Yogurt with Honey dessert that's on the Cyprus Exclusives section on both the Edge and Apex. The assistant waiter took the order and a few minutes later she came back and tried to clarify what I wanted for dessert. I repeated that I wanted the special dessert of Greek Yogurt and honey. She walked away and a few minutes later the Main Waiter came over and asked me that the Assistant Waiter is new in her position and since English isn't her first language she was confused at what I wanted for dessert. I tried to explain to the waiter and asked him what exactly is the Cyprus exclusive dessert. He went on to describe it and it WASN'T Greek yogurt with honey, it was some sort of pastry. One of the Maitre 's heard the exchange and came over to explain that the menus on the Beyond are NOT the same as the Edge or Apex. I apologised profusely to all concerned. I did get the special pastry and it was very good!
  18. NO, it just functions like a MDR. Those restaurants GUARANTEED will stay free since Carnival decided not to build enough dining capacity in a standard MDR. If you look at Costa's Excel Class ships there's another main dining room which Carnival decided not to build.
  19. I'm assuming it's the 11/8 cruise. The TA ended weeks ago.
  20. Any experienced cruiser would have known that TAs have a higher passenger age demographic by the virtue that is a 14 night cruise with so many seadays. Not sure why anyone would think that a 14 night cruise with all those seadays would have lots young people on board.
