  1. Jelayne recounted correctly. There's many shaded nooks around and about the Retreat sundeck. There are a few umbrellas that dot the larger sunning areas.
  2. I'm enjoying your trip report and thank you for your time spent on posting. If you can answer a question you may have overlooked;were there any changes made to Michael's Club?
  3. Yes, you can get as many bars of soap you need.
  4. The free weights area is especially challenging with everything crammed into a very small space. I usually take the dumbbells I want and go to the level right below.
  5. What have they been saying about the current sailing? Any comments/confirmation about the elimination of set early/late MDR dining?
  6. On ANY cruiseship you should be doing that at the Casino Cashier, not Guest Relations. That's not what they are there for.
  7. Here's a photo of my husband and I this past June in the Steakhouse on the Pride in Europe. Husband had dark jeans on, I had lightweight khaki-type slacks.
  8. When did this happen? Recently or YEARS ago? Currently there's absolutely no requirement for a jacket and tie ANYWHERE on ANY Carnival ship.Period.
  9. In GENERAL comped casino bookings aren't eligible for Move Up. The qualifier is there since it's been reported that some people have been able to, but the rule is no. You can call BCC to see what it costs to upgrade.
  10. Today is the first revenue cruise after the travel agent FAM tours and the 10/26 sailing. If the dining situation is the same for this sailing you can be assured it's a permanent change.
  11. Don't you realize they did just that for the October 26th sailing?
  12. I remember your review on that and was happy to see some yummy cheeses at the Oceanview Cafe on the Beyond. Brie, Camembert, Manchego, and this really yummy one with cranberries!
  13. One can say the same thing about people's love of certain Carnival CDs. I also don't understand the infatuation with Carnival's Comedy shows and piano bars. Every Carnival cruise has crazy lines for the Comedy shows. I'm Diamond with Carnival and have never attended a comedy show on any Carnival ship.
  14. Yes, unless you can get pre-cruise reservations at the time that you want. Otherwise you just go when you want to dine, and find out if they can seat you right away, or else have to wait a bit and receive a buzzer. As I said earlier though pre-cruise reservations are only 40% of the capacity at each reservation timeframe, so just because you can't get pre-cruise reservations at the time you want doesn't necessarily mean you won't be accommodated when you walk up at a given time.
  15. I've explained what's been happening. You don't believe me?
  16. It was explained that currently the website isn't setup for the Beyond's different dining set up from the rest of the fleet.
  17. Yes, you can do paid upgrades. Sometimes they allow you to combine certificates for a cabin class upgrade. They can ask all these questions when they call the number on the certificate. They will be responsible for taxes and port charges of about $255 total and additional gratuities.
  18. There isn't a Jazz Club. What there is on some Edge Class ships is a show in The Club (the multi purpose nite club) that's loosely around a Jazz theme and includes performances by the singers, dancers and gymnasts. Celebrity ships don't have dedicated entertainment spaces like Carnival or Royal ships. Guest entertainment like comedians and pianists will perform in the main theater.
  19. What's great about the existing cabins is they added USB ports to the night stands and also upgraded large flat panel TVs mounted on the wall. The Spirit Class TVs are so small you can barely see anything.
  20. The Spirit Class, Vista Class, and Excel Class definitely have regular drinking fountains.
