  1. Looks like the same continuous wooden slat benches that's in the new Celebrity terminal in Port Everglades.
  2. How's the sound in there? The Port Canaveral terminal is so cavernous that the sound is terrible. You can't here any announcements.
  3. You may have not liked the new location but an standard Oceanview is an upgrade to a porthole cabin.
  4. Thanks for your follow-up. That bar is the same even on the new Beyond. Why they don't have one that can flip up like most other cruiselines is Beyond (pun intended) me. 😉
  5. I thought it was just fine. It was a casino booking and the room assigned to us, so we didn't ask to change to a higher deck.
  6. I'm surprised you didn't get an A group at 10:30. Of course for Diamonds the boarding group is moot now.
  7. Here maiden voyage was March, 2019 so it sailed for about one year until the pandemic shutdown. It was exclusively for the Chinese market so you'll be hard-pressed to find anything about it during it's first year of cruises. She started up sailing again from Turkey this past May, so for all intents and purposes she's had passengers for less than two years.
  8. I'm not sure what you're expecting considering the circumstances. The prior reviews are basically irrelevant since it was Costa's Chinese division so when Carnival sails the ship it's going to be 180 degrees different. I think the relevant research and decision making process is to view the handful of excellent videos of the vessel to understand what Costa did differently with the Vista Class ship and also continue to read up on what additions and changes Carnival will be making. One of the very major changes is how the lido deck is layed out. Cruiseships designed for the Europeans and Asian markets tend to have main pool decks that are and/or can be covered for year round use. Besides the Spirit Class that's a different ship design philosophy for Carnival. As someone mentioned it does somewhat make for a more enclosed feeling but whether that's good or bad is a personal preference.
  9. The Meraviglia's layout reminds me more of Royal's Quantum Class.
  10. It all points to the same thing. Previously the casino bar was ONLY crowded because it was a smoking spot. You do away with smoking, no one is going to hang there since there's plenty of other nicer places to hang and drink, so the casino bars are dead. Therefore, no point in having the bar there if noone is going to hang out there, so it's better to have more slot machines since the casinos are always busy on Carnival ships.
  11. Private sundeck like Retreat on Celebrity and Aurea Sundeck on MSC, but agree without a hottub it lessens the appeal.
  12. I'm curious what time you chose and what boarding group were you given. As a Diamond I don't see why you would need a boarding group. Diamonds are the First to board, so even if you were to check in after boarding has already commenced as a Diamond you should be able just to board after checking in. I checked in to our Celebration Cruise on Monday and chose 11:00 as check-in time. Was given a B group boarding.
  13. EXACTLY. People were specially going to the casino bar to smoke and not place one cent into gambling.
  14. In 2019 after a late spring/early summer Northern Europe cruise on Royal from Southampton we hired a car a did a road trip from Southampton heading north visiting The Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon, Liverpool, The Lakes District, York, and then ditching the car in Leeds to take the train to London for an additional three nights before flying back home. We had my mom and dad with us and it was quite an adventure! My dad lost his wallet, probably somewhere on the ship or Southampton Cruise terminal and we had car trouble in the Lakes District where we drove over a small boulder and wreaked the axel (Luckily the car was drivable to the nearest car rental office, albeit with the steering wheel at a 25 degree angle, and they had a substitute replacement car for us!). The Lakes District was the most memorable part of the trip.
  15. Just to be clear, some of the MDR exclusive specialty items on the Beyond ARE NOT the same as the Apex or Edge, they were updated specifically for the Beyond.
  16. I see now you don't have that choice! Strange.
  17. Some people have a hard time with that, lol🙄
  18. Doesn't your app show a menu button right under 'Find on Deck' like the screenshot below? These screenshots are for my Apex cruise in July, so an April sailing shouldn't be too early.
  19. Yes facial recognition is being used, and the process is exactly as you describe.
  20. That was our experience on the Apex and Reflection. Wine and Spirits were't included.
  21. Great videos! The ship looks like If Oasis and Prima had a baby.
  22. On some of the newer and/or Revolutionized ships there's a bar called Craft Social that's considered a Sports bar. Yes, something new-ish on Celebrity!
  23. What exact type of feedback are you looking for? What do you want to know about this cabin?
  24. Are you booked on a cruise? If so, you can go into the mobile phone app and actually look at the menus.
  25. They haven't finished naming the new additions. 100% there will be an Asian restaurant.
