Just wanted to say I hope to see you on board. We are enroute from Long Island after morning drama with Lyft. 1st driver cancelled, 2nd driver cancelled while were sitting in his SUV. The issue? Unlike taxis and car services Ride share driver's are prohibited by law to pick-up a return fare when out of state.. Ride share drivers don't know where they are going until they arrive at passenger pick-up spot. After some very heated arguments we negotiated a direct cash payment. We're paying a fair price, $150. The driver would have only gotten $60:from Lyft. Almost 2 hours going to cruiseport.

Unlike Celebrity or Royal you can't make advanced whole cruise dinner reservations on Your time dining. You can only make a reservation when you're ready to dine. In other words you can't go into the phone app on day 1at 5pm and make a reservation for 7pm.Generally speaking wait times are around 10-20 minutes on nights other than Elegant Nights where the waits can be from 30-60 minutes. The great thing about the phone app is it will tell you the approximate wait times before you actually have to commit to a reservation ( wait times sometimes aren't the most accurate and you can cancel a table request at any time) and that can be done anywhere on the ship. If you generally come from your cabin after dressing you can always check the wait times while you're getting ready and judge when you need to put in a table request. There's a button on the app that if you want want to eat with others you can choose that.

There's NEVER an issue with getting headphones so there's no need to worry and just go and have fun!

As the saying goes, different strokes for different folks. For me I've never seen the appeal of sitting at a bar and having a drink. Didn't do it when I was younger, and there's absolutely no appeal for me now either. Having experienced both Retreat experiences on the Apex and the Reflection, I much prefer the Airport private lounge model vs the Gentleman's Club model. I have no issues sitting at a club chair and having a server come take my drink order vs sitting on a barstool at an actual bar in Michael's Club. Even in that venue on the Reflection we sat in club chairs setup for two, so for us it's no different in the revised Retreat Lounge concept. By the same token I have never enjoyed sitting at the Martini Bar on any Celebrity ship and prefer sitting in a club chair away from the bar

I can concede that two of the three attributes is not necessarily the E-Classes forte but will push back that the E-Class isn't 'Refined'. If your definition of refined is more of an Old World traditional atmosphere I can see why you would prefer the S-Class but that doesn't mean a contemporary environment can't be refined;the two aren't mutually exclusive.

What you're experiencing is purposeful. Celebrity has always been a 'make your own fun' cruiseline. It's not necessarily about the older demographic but about the type of vacation experience Celebrity wants to aspire to. It's more of an upscale land based resort hotel like you would find in Miami Beach. Think Fountainbleu.

Although I haven't been on the Beyond until next week what I've seen is it's exactly the same as the previous two ships.

Of course you can submit a bag of laundry the 1st night. Just remember you'll just need to notify the cabin attendant who will be very,very busy greeting all the new guests. Don't be surprised if you don't receive it back the next day.

My sense is it will be a hybrid of what they did with the Luminosa; they will become part of the Carnival fleet BUT WITHOUT any Carnival branded onboard venues, thus saving renovation costs. They will use the existing venues as is (except for certain amenities that were China market specific - not sure a hotpot restaurant is going to get many reservations from Carnival cruisers). Only my guestimate. 🤷

Love the backstory! You're close on my screen name. Kwok is my middle name and part of my Chinese name(Kwok Fai is my Chinese name,which translates to Brilliance of the country). It means country in Cantonese . When I was in High school I worked at a local discount store with my other high school friends. I worked in the small appliances section and of course we sold crockpots. My friends knew my middle name and coined the jokename 'kwokpot'. No one calls me that but it makes for a fun online screen name.

The cabanas are in the same location; however, they changed the access and opening from the passageway to the pooldeck so now the access and views are from the pooldeck.
