  1. No, I had an Aqua Class Balcony and the same view as DaKahuna who had a suite if my memory serves me correctly.
  2. Yes, we did use the old locks this year. It was pretty interesting!
  3. I really miss Sushi on Five on the EDGE Class ships. The new, more elegant seafood joint is no comparison. Tried it twice, horrible both times.
  4. FWIW, I often see issues like this happening if guests wait until the very last moment of the final day to settle accounts in cash. Try to do this during the daytime or even a day earlier if possible. You could use NOVA Credit or Amex Global Transfer to get a real U.S. credit card and TD has a U.S. banking arm that that you can open a checking account with.
  5. I have no problem with the model that they charge the same for one cabin, no matter if one or two people occupy it. Hotels do the same thing. However since cruise fares also include food, it should be at least 30% less as the missing second person won't consume anything. Until now, I was waiting for a proper casino offer, but I only get useless cruises ex Florida. Flying to the U.S. costs me US$7000 so I rather spend $400 to fly to Singapore or Hong Kong and pay for the cruise itself.
  6. I tried that, but no luck. I guess the workaround is the easiest. The prices aren't all that unreasonable on a paid basis.
  7. Never purchased any of these things since my first cruise. A non-alc beverage package was the highest. I must be the least profitable customer aside from my casino adventures, but thanks to those, each of my 13 cruises was free. 😄
  8. Zero whatsoever. If I count up the lies that Celebrity has told me and the times they cheated over the years, I'm in the dozens. Will do it this way!
  9. They have zero ancillary income with my cabin either way as E+. Free coffee house items and free beverages during the evening (stocked up in the cabin). That being said, I think this blocking is discrimination. Do you think I should just book for two? Nothing they can really do about it I figure.
  10. I'm currently looking at a variety of Asia cruises from Singapore (Spice Route, Hong Kong, and Bali), and the same issue pops up for each of them: Some cabins are either not available for single-passenger bookings. and on others the rate is 400% on the inside/oceanview cabin. The problem disappears when when I search for two passengers and the price is actually quite good. At first I thought this was an IT bug but I called and the agent said "The company wants to keep the cabins for two guests." Now, I don't know why it is a Celebrity's business if a passenger wants to travel on his own but no agent or supervisor found a workaround. Quite frankly, I'm getting more and more annoyed about this. Would you simply book a second passenger, and then that person is a no-show? Or I call a week before and say the second guest got sick. Assuming they would also refund that person's port taxes. I highly doubt they will come around and say "you're not allowed to sail alone", Interested if anyone ran into the same problem, followed a similar solution, or if there are any issues with my plan you could think of.
  11. Buying an Invicta is never a prudent decision. There are much better brands for lower-end watches as far as quality is concerned. Seiko comes to mind.
  12. I wouldn’t mind that at all because this would make me Diamond Plus with C&A rather than just Diamond. 🙂
  13. More like the cruise line should be divided at this point. Integrate the Edge Class ships into Royal and give/sell all others to Carnival.
  14. Update: The CC will be discontinued as per 1/1/2024 based on customer demand. These surveys work wonders! Regards, Laura
  15. Totally, given the garbage they include in the Classic package. That being said, paying $26-27++ (you should always get that price anyway utilizing a CC or BCC rebate) is still a better deal than paying for any Alc beverage package, especially with the Spa Cafe and their fresh juices.
  16. You can buy this for 25-30 euros at the pier when you get off the tender. Ship to Oia Pier, Bus up the hill, bus to Fira. The way down is up to you. When I did this the line at the cable car was super long, and i took the stairs by walking. Seeing these poor donkeys once again broke my heart but the pathway was also quite slippery and soiled with their droppings and urine so beware.
  17. I've read the first page, including the OP's post and this (13) but there have been similar reports in various social media groups and as expected you had all kinds of responses. A few people who agreed and provided documentation of a similar horrible experience. Then the typical apologists who'd even applaud when X starts serving a dog's turd on a paper tray. I did three AQ sailing in the past three months and food was vastly different on each trip: Millennium, Panama Canal: BLU was ok, food often underseasoned, Oceanview good quality Solstice, Alaska: Awful, both BLU as well as Oceanview, though Oceanview was the best choice APEX, Norway: BLU good quality and service, Oceanview good quality, Mast Grill: LETHAL I believe that Celebrity tries to put on their A-game on the Edge Class ships, but the others are being neglected and fed to the dogs. RIP!
  18. When I try to book a Celebrity Cruise through URComped then I get this: House Customer Check I have not booked a trip directly with Celebrity Cruises (not using URComped) that sailed in the last 12 months I do not have a confirmed upcoming trip with Celebrity Cruises that was not booked through URComped.
  19. There are some conditions when it comes to URcomped. Usually having a play history or current status with Celebrity/BCC would render you ineligible. Most definitely if you have a cruise booked for the future (no matter if comped or revenue).
  20. Not really. I eat breakfast and one hot meal per day. Maybe a snack along the way. Usually, I book hotels through the Centurion concierge or Virtuoso, so there is always a decent credit and breakfast included. I would rather have a moderate amount of high-quality food than an unlimited supply of Mast Grill burgers, one of which being enough to kill you.
  21. Nice. January is only 3-4 service downgrades away. Happy times await! 😉
  22. If they have an ample selection at Oceanview Cafe in the evenings, I'm fine. Actually, on the last trip, I went to OVC most evenings, not in the mood for a sit-down dinner each day.
