  1. Honestly, get over it and handle it… The vast majority have had their “holds” released; perhaps they made a mistake. Maybe they made a mistake, so have them fix it. You posting on here saying “watch the holds” is overkill. They don’t need you to tell them to watch their charges on their credit cards and you “loving and dying” by every post seems suspicious. instead of asking, has this happened to anyone else, you shoot out the gate with x,y,z..
  2. Honestly, it doesn't matter, they couldn't easily go after the sister companies due to common ownership. FTUTPA is Florida unfair and deceptive trade practices act and this screams violation. If the sales agents are pushing it, that company qualifies and if they have any common ownership, which I'm sure they do, they could bring all of the companies into the mix.
  3. This is exactly why Florida came out with FDUTPA, you could easily lead a class action and teach MSC a lesson…. Mark my words, one day soon, MSC will do this to the wrong person and sue on behalf of everyone in the last 4 years and it will be a ***** storm for MSC.
  4. We just got off the Seascape, we were in cabin 18019, which was a Grand Deluxe YC suite... Compared to our last yacht club experience, we were disappointed with the service. I will try to break things down by category. FYI - we went as a group and had 5 rooms. Terminal - This was a cluster, although not MSC's fault. We arrived to the port around 10:30 and security had already closed off direct access to everyone going to the port through the tunnel. So, we had to go all the way down to the end of the port, turn around, and then merge in with the folks taking the normal route to the terminal. Once at parking lot C, there weren't any signs saying where to go for the yacht club. Also, once you find the yacht club tent, on the east side, it wasn't anything special, but we were escorted to the ship fairly quickly. Room - Don't have any complaints about the room. The room was clean when we arrived and was spacious. Couldn't used another outlet, but at this point I'm nit picking. Room Steward- Amazing, this guy was extremally nice and did everything we asked. Granted, we only asked for extra water, diet coke and nuts, we were loaded up with all three. Butler - Horrible, I wouldn't even consider that we had a butler. We saw him on the first day and then maybe once or twice the rest of the trip. We didn't receive our bottle or liquor, nor were we informed about it. However, the good news is this was not the case for all rooms. Out of our group, 3/5 had bad butlers, some worse than others. However, 2/5 were amazing and we we all made sure to tip him since he was doing extra work. Yacht Club Restaurant - The food was great, but the service was horrible, so slowwwwww. The drinks from the bar took 45 min and food came out slow. Once you got the food thought, it was great. Spoke to the YC manager, who said the whole ship is understaffed and they are just looking for warm bodies to hire. YC Pool deck - This was some of the best food on the ship. Arnold, was great and gave amazing service, however, he only has 10 days left on his contract. His sister is getting married and he is going home to help plan, etc. When he wasn't at the pool deck, drinks were hard to come by unless you went to get them yourself. Elevators - HORRIBLE, the worst of all cruise lines. During busy times you will hit the call button and it will say "unable to allocate elevator"... Also, when you are escorted off the ship by a butler, you are taking the same elevators and they cannot call an elevator directly, so you don't receive priority like on NCL. Shows - The comedy show was amazing, but some of the other shows were boring. Gone are the days of the michael jackson dance show, cirque or the amazing shows. Venchi - Best news on the ship..... While the YC concierge said venchi wasn't included, John Hope and others there would give us free venchi for being in the yacht club. We tipped him the first day and he always ran to us when we walked up. There is a lot more, but I'll answer any questions or provide more detail if anyone desires.

  6. Currently scheduled to sail on the Seascape leaving this Sunday in the Yacht Club. We booked the cruise through the casino department and the dang e-ticket packet is like 30 pages. Do we really need to print them to board? Thanks!
  7. Not sure, but in the event they do, RUN! We love MSC and are cruising in the YC this sunday on the Seascape, however, as many mistakes as they make and as bad as MSC customer service is, air fare is the last thing I would entrust MSC with handling...
  8. We cruise with friends and family on the same ship leaving next week, 3/12... Looking forward to the review.

  10. I got excited when I read the title... Went on the Encore and the show was so boring we walked out after the 2nd song...
  11. Using a credit card to pay for a cruise doesn't mean you cannot afford to go on a cruise. However, charging $100 to the credit card and then getting charged finance charges, as you stated in your original post, does logically lead someone to believe they may need to rethink their finances. Yes, I will give you that if it did take 1/2 billing cycles to get a refund, that would be aggravating. However, all you have to do is pay the $100 as you normally would and then you get it back. If you cannot go without $100 for a month, well that brings me back to my original point, may be time to rethink your finances. If you spent 5k on the cruise and they were holding it hostage for a few months, that would be a different story. Getting all fired up over having to possibly wait for a $100 refund seems like overkill. I think that is the point people are trying to make here. Well, that and is MSC is what it is.... Regardless, you will have a good time on your cruise.
  12. First off, the refund is typically processed in a week. Secondly, if you are having to pay finance charges on a $100 beverage package, you probably should rethink your decision to go on a cruise.
  13. Piece of Ship…. Letting you know the ship is falling apart and you get to take a piece home after the sailing, if it doesn’t sink entirely.
  14. I was looking at the same sailing and noticed the same thing.. Its currently working now, but it does screw up often.. It comes and goes, but when it screws up if you hit continue, you can often see the price breakdown on the last page
  15. We are going March 12th on the seascape. We booked through a third party called ur comped, but received the upgrade bid emails last time we cruised with MSC, in 2020. Currently, only the Royal suite is available for an upgrade and when I inquired about just buying it, they wanted 8k more, and I passed. Figured I could probably bid and get it cheaper. They fully comped our YC suite for the first two, only charging for our child.

  18. We booked through the casino, which we got upgrades before... Perhaps they are waiting to see if the royal suite in YC gets filled. That is the room I would like to bid on, we are currently in the YC. Thanks..
  19. Can someone paste the upgrade website? We sail in a month and we still haven't received any upgrade email...
  20. We went on the Encore over thanksgiving, we have three kids so we got the u limited arcade for $199 for a 7 day cruise. The card allows 3 swipes on non-prize games. The kids loved the arcade and it was worth the money for us. now the kids were asking if they could do the same in MSC, but these games are crazy.
  21. Ugh, that is ridiculous.... Thank you! We have 3 kids and even with the buy $80 get $140, $3 to $5 for arcade games is crazy.
  22. Do you know the average price for the arcade games?
