  1. Greg, really interested in your thoughts on Spirit. We have sailed on more Spirit class than any other.
  2. During jury selection they ask very pointed questions of each potential juror, details on where you lived, occupation family etc. The defendant was smirking at me during this.
  3. Ours had significant issues. We were excused a LOT. Two drug dealers. Prosecution main witness customer of both. Her testimony was not sone on Friday and she went mia on a binge till Thursday. Basically recanted her original testimony. He got away with murder. Learned a lot about “street justice” and not cooperating with the “system”.
  4. We went to Bimini right after cruising opened up (2nd Mardi Gras sailing). Covid fears on the island (from cruisers invading 🤣 had the placed pretty well locked down. Did not get to do much. LONG pier.
  5. Enjoy your cruise we are getting on Mardi Gras tomorrow. Eastern 7 day. A ways back I was 2nd alternate for a murder trial. Someone dropped off jury and I was next in line. Sat thru entire trial and dismissed when deliberations began. What was supposedly to be 4 to 5 day trial turned into 17.
  6. Stuff happens when get to be close to 30 bill in the hole.
  7. There are doors to hallways that are closed (for all other than suites dianinds plats and suites. Big sign on door. Since you are plat, you can ignore and enter
  8. Depends on when you start boarding. Our last cruise on the horizon in November on the Horizon we had same time but when they began boarding Weddings (two) then Diamonds, Plats FTTF and suites there was a traffic jam of people that tried to board that should not have been there so we did not get on till about 11:20 (not a problem) our room was ready (Havana) but they were scrambling. Enjoy your cruise, we will be boarding Mardi Gras tomorrow.
  9. Early exercise balancing carryon and opening door, but worth the effort…
  10. Our experience is even when they state things like you post, you will stay be able to do drop off of items to your room. What time is your check in time?
  11. I posted in my recent review. Tried as much of new items as I could. Loved the Emeril selection home run from my perspective.
  12. Highly discounting cruises from aspecific homeport does show something. We cruised twice fron San Juan. Loved them.
  13. These are VERY popular rooms. we recently sailed Horizon (November of last year) and the group we were going with def wanted Havana rooms. Like you we started working out and went about 15 months (the November date we sailed). PVP or TA can do all the heavy lifting for you, but there is no smoke or mirrors, just plugging away.
  14. On a recent Journey cruise the diamond luncheon was held over 3 days…. Due to the number of people who qualified.
  15. They are packed to the gills…. We only go when others (yes, they qualify) going with us ask us to go. The ugly dog in the room as we know is most go for the free drinks. Obviously they are skimming this back, from my view, it does not appear to be making a dent. That said, we much enjoyed the old Diamond gathering with senior staff. Now it is a lunch (very nice lunch) that they come in a say hi and bolt for the door. The reason is…..wait for it…..because way to many people qualify. There is only two paths out of the maze, continue cutting back of the frills of whatever the festivity is of change the qualifications. I would vote for the latter.
  16. I think you had the right idea. This is not just one company doing things atypical of everybody else in the industry. It simply is the way it is. IF the op does not like it, do something else.
  17. I get it. I was actually looking forward to it but shied away from it when she described it. Maybe another time’
  18. Interesting post. I am not sure which cruise we were on but our waitress in the steakhouse basically talked me out of the wine pairings. She said people were unhappy with the amount of wine and the rigidity of the program.
  19. ….or if it is that important to you, do something else on your vacation. The US has a much different view on data privacy than the rest of the world. Whether you like it or not. That said, thanks for letting us know your thoughts….
