  1. LOL, I have. Kind of a Calzone without the top….right?😂 Do not want to go off track. I can send you the links proclaiming why I think what I do…but that is another topic.
  2. Thanks for the info, how about other ports, any issues?
  3. LOL, got it (Come to New Haven, the pizza capital of the world, maybe that would change you mind on at least that one). That said, my question was real (appreciate your candor), I really did wonder what would be meaningful enough.
  4. Which changes are the ones that people would cancel a cruise for? Inquiring minds want to know.
  5. The job they have done thru the pandemic to manage not going out of business is nothing short of amazing, despite attempts to minimize it. Went from a bleed rate of 1.5 BILLION a MONTH to 568 MILLION a month before the start up. Amazing job.
  6. Which is less busy? July and August? Why is that?
  7. Most def will be doing a live review (as long as wifi permits)
  8. Are you sure the rooms on the MG are smaller?
  9. Totally agree, there is more to do, such sa Bolt, a ropes course with a zip line, full basketball court, many more music venues, lots of different food choices teens would enjoy and lots more places to hang out.
  10. My first thought is that you cannot go wrong with whatever choice you make. If you are making the decision specifically on the the two Havana areas, then I would choose the Horizon. The MG Havana area exceeded expectations, but that bar was set pretty low when I saw (pre cruise and when I toured the area when we were on the mG before she did her first sailing). That said we loved it, just not as much as we did for the Havana area on Vista and Horizon (Panorama as well, just never sailer her). If on the other hand you are taking the entire ship into consideration, the MG wins hands down. There are so many differences this ship has in many areas, it is a def must do. I can elaborate if you want.
  11. Seems we are degrading on a trivial topic. Last post on the topic and then I will move on. To your point, it is not the access to staff (although the training time is way more than you would expect to get to a customer present position), their current dilemma that is now receding in getting trained staff visas to enter (thru) the U.S..
  12. Ports where they doo not have staff that does this on a regular basis are prone to issues with the embark and debark process. While it is really not a very complex process, the changes for Covid alone can make it tenuous. Without degrading into a discussion about specific states and the people who live there, we have found as example that boarding in New York and the clientele that sails from there is significantly different than Galveston (just another example). Add to that the timing of when you cruise (Carnival are the Fun ships and families and children and all the fun that comes with that make sailing this times of year dramatically different than November. There are times when sail where we choose a cabin location that maybe different because of the number of kids (to minimize the impact of their interaction with us while they enjoy their vacation (example would floors or location with less traffic). JMHO
  13. Maybe it has more to do with the cruisers than the ship…..
  14. Have sailed Vista class 5 times and the MG 3 times. Hands down, the MG.
  15. I have sailed on Havana cabins in both, on both classes of ships (5 times on Vista Class and once on the MG), While I agree and was disappointed when I saw the renderings as well as when we explored the MG before she sailed on a TA event, we kept out booking that we completed on the 6/25 sailing. I do have to say that the HV rooms on the MG exceeded by downplayed expectations. I would not hesitate to sail in this area again. It still has the most quiet area (sans Loft19) on the ship and the smaller pool still gets it done.
  16. My guess would be short staff. That said, 4 am seems reasonable
  17. When you find out what makes sense with this pandemic, please let me know.
  18. All cruise lines that build new ships (and even some that cannot) look for edges to entice cruisers to come to them. Whether it is a rock wall, a roller coaster, go cart track, or separate private rooms and dining, it is all for the same reason. What attracts you, might not attract me. It certainly is not shaming (in my view) that a line chooses during a comeback from the worst time in the history of the industry and not be bleeding edge. What you find lacking, I applaud them for, but that is just me. What we agree on, is sitting and watching the chop churn with drink in hand.
  19. Thanks for the feedback, I have been on 46 Carnival cruises and never had a cross employee, or one speak to me in a negative light
