  1. Looking at the Cruise Director Denny Anderson, I had the Privlage to work with him on the Norwegian Sea back in 2005 I believe. I was on the cruise directors staff during i belive my second contract. Would have loved to work onboard the Norway.
  2. Aft Haven Suites are awesome! that would be our prefered cabin when cruising the Haven! Balcony is an amzing space not to mention on the BA+ ships they have a second full bathroom.
  3. We have sailed the Haven Multiple times and our most recent was on the Escape in January. Once we got done with our check in documents, they were already doing general boarding and was asked to wait for a butler, we politly explained we know where we were going and they smiled and said welcome aboard and we went on our own. Now, have no issue when returning from a port day utilizing the front gangway and depending on the time there is a Butler waiting to escort you from the gangway to the crew elevators so you can bypass the general elevaters which are always crowded.
  4. Love all the pictures, We are on the Seascape in September first MSC cruise, doing a YC Interior. I noticed that in your post with all the leadership on the Ship, Pedro Serra was listed as cruise director, but look like the cruise directors name is Ted. Do you know if Pedro is on board?
  5. So I agree with everything said! I have sailed and worked onboard NCL all the way back to the Sea, Dream, Crown days ( Even worked onboard the Marco Polo when NCL owned Orient Lines). Entertainment I believe is the biggest area I have seen decline in the past few years. The one thing that used to be great was each ship had a Production cast that performed 3 different shows(the best was when NCL had the Jean Ann Ryan Company) throughout a 7 day cruise. Then the remaining nights would be filled with guest entertainers such as Vocalists, Comedians, Prop comedy etc..These entertainers would stay onboard for a week to sometimes a few months. This was perfect as if you cruise 3 or 4 times a year on the same ship at least you would have different guests entertainers. I understand the reasoning on budget cuts and removing high priced shows such as Blue Man Group, Jersey Boys etc. but its a little bit of a let down. I sailed RCCL Symphony of the seas about a year and a half ago and I much prefer NCL but RCCL entertainment on the Oasis Class ships was very impressive.
  6. Honestly within 30 days prices wont drop that much. Depending on the cabin you are looking for the only cabins that will drop is the inside and oceanview. This is becasue alot of people will bid for upgrades from inside to balcony. Then they release all the inside cabins available usually at a pretty good discount. What is the date and ship?>
  7. Been cruising since I was 9 years old and have stayed in almost every category of stateroom from inside to The Haven 2 bedroom (Can't bite the bullet on the DOS yet lol). I will say as we typically only cruise in the Haven with NCL the best room for the money would be the forward facing Haven Suit on the BA and BA+ ships. You get the separate bedroom, living room, a large bathroom and you are at the front of the ship so you are only a short elevator ride to and from the Haven. The downside as anyone who has stayed in this suite is the Balcony. It is tiny lo. Now our Favorite when not involving the price is the Aft Facing Haven Suite! All of the above you get plus a second bathroom as well as the huge balcony. We had this on the Joy last April and was absolutely amazing. Now it is a hike to get to the Haven but after all the drinks and the food it was always a good idea to walk off some of those calories. We cruise with 3 other friends that were not in the Haven and we enjoyed evenings on the balcony playing cards having drinks as well as enjoy late night room service snacks. Now we are trying MSC for the First time in September, Yacht club interior as the price was just to good to pass up. We will see if we ever go back to NCL Haven suites due to prices getting a little out of control.
  8. On the Joy in January and drinks in the hot tub were ok, but no drinks inside the pool area. We were able to sit on the ledges on the outside of the pool and that was fine. NCL had pool monitors (not lifeguards) in the pool area on sea days.
  9. I agree, all the Haven cruises we have done, we have always had good bar service on the sundeck and by the Haven pool. Also, we have no issue walking the 30 seconds to the Haven Bar to grab drinks. I wish Vibe had a small splash pool, because Haven prices have gotten so crazy that wife and I are trying MSC yacht club next cruise in September. Our next NCL cruise will most likely not be in the Haven, so we may opt for Vibe Beach club.
  10. Have Cruised the Breakaway several times out of new orleans. One of our favorite ports to sail out of but our least favorite cruise terminal lol.
  11. We sailed over Easter last year on the Joy out of Miami. The ship was packed but more of families then college spring breakers. We still had a great cruise
  12. We cruised out of 10 January 6th sailing on the Escape. Typically NCL sails out of 10 but things do change sometimes.
  13. Recommend taking an afternoon at the port and go to one of the restaurants that has outside seating and watch the ships sail out. was awesome! also has a good happy hour lol $2 draft beer lol
  14. Honestly, if it would make you feel better, just show up a little early. New Orleans Terminal is horrible. By about 1:30 the terminal should be much better then say 9:30am. New orleans is the worst cruise terminal in my opinion
  15. We stayed at the Best Western Cocoa Beach in January. Now not very warm but was right by the pier and we had an ocean front room which had great views of the beach. Free parking as well and had plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Also if you like to get up early you can watch the Ships line up and pass by heading back into port Canaveral.
  16. Would love for it to be ready by our September 28th sailing on the Seascape, but who knows. If not ready, it is just a terminal lol.
  17. I was actually researching the same thing! We have an inside YC on the Seascape for September of this year. We usually sail in the Haven on NCL but the price for the YC inside was so good we are giving them a try ($3200 all in). I am now looking at booking MSC on the Seashore in Feb 2025 and looked at several categories. Here are the prices Standard Balcony Aurea level with my 10% discount is all in $2109 with the drink package and $100 OBC Jr. Suite with my 10% discount all in was $2310 with drink package and $200 onboard credit. The Grand Suite Aurea (not YC) all in was $2919 with drink package and $200 on board credit The MSC Deluxe YC suite ( no inside available) all in was $5334 with $200 OBC Now, the question for you would be would you utilize the YC that often. Now my wife and I when sailing in the Haven love being there. We would trade off the Balcony for inside YC any day of the week. But since there is no Inside available am I willing to pay almost another $2500 to go from The Grand Suite Aurea to the YC? The answer would be no. We could basically book 2 Grand Suite Aurea for the price of 1 MSC deluxe YC suites. Again, Love the Haven and Sure we will love the YC as well in September, but one of the reasons we are trying the YC is because the inside YC suite is more then half the price cheaper than the cheapest Haven Suite. We are go with the flow people and have cruised all the major lines but our last 5 have been NCL Haven and 1 RCCL Symphony of the seas (standard balcony). Interesting to hear others thoughts.
  18. Cruised Have Several Times and loved it. But Price points have us tying MSC YC. MSC has inside YC suites, since my wife and I really never spend any time in the cabin unless sleeping or getting dressed we opted for the YC inside Suite. For $3200 all in we think this is a great deal. We would always sail Haven but pretty much can get 2 cruises in the YC for the price of one in the Haven. Also the DSC on NCL in the Haven is $25 per day, YC is almost half that. YC includes stocked mini bar as well. We shall see how we like it in September on the Seascape.
  19. Yea, we loved the Joys. Escape was nice but felt a little cramped at times on Sea Days. Trying MSC YC in September, excited to see the Seascapes YC pool Deck.
  20. Sailed the Joy last April and then the Escape in January. I will say, the Joy felt a lot less crowded. Racetrack was fun and as far as lines go you can reserve a time. Joy's Haven Sundeck was also both port and starboard side, but i think that has changed expanding the Vibe Beach club. Spice H2O has alot more shade then the escape as well. Pool deck is a little weird due to it being retrofitted from an asian market to US market. Don't pass on the BBQ restaurant, we went twice during our cruise and it was great food, large portions and some great music (Mostly old school rock and Country) Be aware of the Drop down waterslide, absolutely no jewelry and nothing metal on your bathing suits. But again a lot of fun
  21. I have stayed in the Forward facing Haven, and the walk to the Haven isn't that bad. You are already forward so its simply an elevator ride to the Haven. The extra room is great only down side really is the tiny balcony. Now if I am staying outside the Haven now its always the Aft facing Haven suite. Now it is a long walk to the Haven but the Balcony is Huge, bedroom and living room plus the aft has a 2nd full bathroom! Was amazing on the Joy.
  22. You should be good the morning after, still should be able to get an early arrival time
  23. We live in Bathing suits during the day and at night my wife usually wears sundresses or something a little more formal for the formal night. We will need to bring a garment bag this go around but its not very big. I am assuming suitcases can fit under the bed and the garment bag hangs in the closet.
  24. Anyone have any updates on the terminal? We sail on the Seascape in September hoping it will be completed by then.
  25. Again, I look at the Total cost of the cruise. Wife and I always get a drink package no matter what the cruise line. I will say RCCL is the highest I think I ever paid. I believe it was almost $1200 for the both of us.
