  1. I've only gone to one, our first cruise with MSC on Seaside. I even dragged my husband, and he was pretty impressed with the cake with the Cruise Critic logo, the drinks and presence of officers. Then everyone got a group picture of the event. Simple touches, but definitely left an impression.
  2. Is it me, or does that guy in the trunk have a striking resemblance to Lee Harvey Oswald?
  3. We're also a couple months out on Seascape and I'd be lying if I said we didn't have concerns after reading all these negative posts. I would also be more than happy to have someone check for YC id if they ever decide to go that route.
  4. Just curious. I know other cruise lines do. You would think, with the nice Meet and Mingle get togethers that they host, someone might actually be reading the boards as well?
  5. I was just looking at the Seascape deck plans to try to get an idea of what's directly above us. We're in 19003 for a B2B in September and hoping that far forward location right next to the Owner's Suite is helpful. We were on Seaside a few years ago in 18009 and honestly some early mornings would hear dragging of chairs, but we knew exactly what it was and it never really bothered us. It certainly didn't stop us from booking deck 19 on Seascape. (I'm really looking forward to that walk-in closet!)
  6. Good info. I didn't know about his. My husband and I will be on Seascape in September for 2 weeks and over the past couple of days I've been going thru the storage bins with summer cruise clothes, starting to make lists, etc. I just decided yesterday that I'm not going to agonize over wrinkles anymore while packing. If anything looks particularly bad, I'm just going to send it to be pressed. Also plan on doing some things we've never done on a 7-day in the YC. Pizza delivery, book specialty dining a couple of nights, maybe I'll book a massage. I've never even set foot in the spa area on either MSC ship we've sailed on. We've done 2 YC cruises and not once have we done a specialty restaurant because we didn't want to miss out on anything in the YC dining room. We've never used our Diamond perk, etc.
  7. Not the OP, but we've been to Nachi many times. It never gets crowded because they only allow a certain number of guests per day. We always book online prior to our cruise, but one time while sailing on a RC ship we made friends with a couple on board and they were able to get an online reservation the night before we docked in Cozumel. It really is a nice beach day. Highly recommend.
  8. We love Nachi Cocom! We always grab a taxi and head there whenever we're in Cozumel. For our upcoming cruise in September, we're doing something different and booked an excursion so we could tour a little bit of the town. Now I'm having second thoughts because we really do love Nachi. In all of our YC cruises, I don't think we've ever gone up to the One Pool in the evening. Sounds like we'll have to start. Is the bar open up there in the evenings, even if there's nothing going on?
  9. Do it! I had both knees replaced in 2022. Just celebrated the one year anniversary of my right on 6/27 and I had my left one done 4 months later in October. I could have easily gone on a cruise at the 4 month point. As others have pointed out, just be very good about physical therapy, and that means the at home exercises too. Don't get discouraged, you will see big changes around the 4-5 week point. (sleeping better, easier getting out of a chair, etc.) Good luck to you!
  10. Thanks! We've been below the pool deck before and heard some noise at times, but by no means did it ruin our cruise. We're looking forward to our grand on deck 19 and I'm excited for that walk-in closet.
  11. Exactly. My husband's been using a CPAP for years and always packs his extension cord. Not really a big deal because it's what we're used to, but adding an outlet next to the bed would be a nice feature.
  12. Oh no. I was aware we'd hear some early morning noise from the pool deck above, but that sounds pretty bad. Which stateroom are you in?
  13. I should have been more clear. It would have been nice for them to add outlets next to the bed for people with a CPAP.
  14. Interesting! We have the Neptune suite with the extra large balcony on deck 4 (aft and starboard) for an east bound TA in April on Nieuw Statendam. Hadn't thought about balconies being closed, but it did happen to us once on a deck 2 cove balcony on a Carnival ship. There are 2 deck 7 Neptunes left on the Starboard side. Wonder if I should move?
  15. Thanks for the info. I can't remember what cruise line had a built in nightlight in the bathroom, maybe it was Celebrity. Anyway, that was nice and was hoping maybe being a newer ship, maybe?? Although, newer ship and they didn't bother to put outlets next to the bed, so a nightlight would have probably been a big splurge. I'll pack some tea lights.
  16. Does anyone know if the bathrooms on Seascape have nightlights? We'll be in 19003. Started working on updating my packing lists and wondering if I need to bring tea lights. thx.
  17. So they're magnetic stick-on, so you can just put them on the walls? Are the bathroom walls magnetic as well? This is a great tip, thank you!
  18. Do the Neptune Suites on Nieuw Statendam have this feature?
  19. Was just discussing tipping on board with my DH. Not that we plan on doing this, but do you think any of the cabin stewards, butlers accept online tips? When I go to my hair salon, all the stylists have Venmo QR codes on their cards. It's such an accepted thing nowadays, just wondering if anyone's heard of being used on a cruise ship.
  20. Say what you want about Carnival, but they are good at handling "situations." We last sailed with them back in 2012 and were on board during Hurricane Sandy. Our cruise was extended a day and they did an excellent job of keeping everyone informed. On board you'd never know anything was different (other than the rough seas lol). All bars and dining venues were operating as usual, activities were planned, they printed out a daily for Day 8. It was just another sea day.
