I know... The other itinerary worked out better for us. Plus I get to try out the M class. I tend to think that I will like the M class more.

We are doing Bali, Mayalasia, Singapore. We did not notice any difference in the cost of airfare going to Bali. It is a longer flight though.

The entertainment is at best B grade shows on Celebrity. I would not miss them. This weekend we saw Shin Lim. Typical entertainment that I would actually go see.

It is just when you get a 2 to 4 hour change and you are on a tight schedule, it is unworkable. On our last American trip we were on a flight and had to be home for others coming into our home city. They added 3 hours to our travel plans. Yes we have booked two trips on American and they both/ALL were modified substantially. My idea of fun is not spending all day in an airport. Other airlines changed schedules and I do fly other airlines. It is just with American that my changes have been so LARGE. I get that American is cancelling flights so that their schedule is more stable and they have less last minute cancellations, but it is excessive IMHO. I suppose that if I do book American I must make sure that they have a bunch of flights going to the destination as I know that one or more of them will get cancelled and they will move me to another flight. Their schedules are merely placeholders and are not anything close to reality. I just got a bunch of 10 minute schedule changes for my other flights on other airlines. Do you think I care about these? No.

Would you use American when your flight schedule changes by 4 hours? You are correct. I am not 4 hour flexible. And I will not take a flight that is not nonstop when I can drive there faster... The new airline has a bunch more nonstop flights going there...

I am flying in a day or so earlier for the flight out. But I have an international connecting flight that I will not be late to. A 4 hour time change is too much. On the flight back a 4 hour time change causes me to have to reschedule for another day. Flights are disappearing from the American schedule. I had to cancel two American flights this morning. A 2 hour time change is not significant. A 4 hour time change is!

Lately American has been changing my flight schedules so much that I have to rebook with another airline. For example I book a 10 AM flight and they reschedule for 2 PM. Are others running into this issue? This is the second time that this has been done to me.

A watch with a 24 hour clock. Or your phone. My IPhone changes lighting when it is dark outside.

Could be... But perhaps they picked Equinox for another reason due to the quality of the captain and staff. They have yet to do a trial that is an improvement...

Equinox... I understand not changing, but booking a new cruise on a test cruise is just not for me.

My best guess is that they have already determined that it will increase revenue. They are doing an onboard test to see how well it is tolerated and how many complain.

How would such a test even be relevant? Most of the hard core gamblers, vapers, and smokers are sailing on other lines... No one knew about this policy change until recently...

For an Apple to Apple comparison you would also have to compare itinerary. For example Oceania will port on the Amalfi coast. For Celebrity it is 2 hours there and 2 hours back bus ride wasting 4 hours of time. For a port day why spend half of your time on a bus? Of course you must also compare the food. I have not seen a Celebrity vs Oceania food comparison where Celebrity wins.

In case you have not been paying attention Celebrity has been doing this for the last 6 months or better. Regaining their senses? One can only hope... But they have been tone deaf for quite a while now. The almighty dollar runs all of their decisions.

Did you get a response back from Celebrity? I am still 0 for 3 on actually getting a response back. I am in Celebrity steerage 🙂

OR ToHellWithThee@Sea we want much much younger cruisers. Ones that can't tell the difference between a IV and a balcony. Preferrably ones that actually have a job 🙂🙂
