  1. We hit it off 2 yrs ago with a YC Couple who told us about their 11% off from a TA. It works but as said above you get what you pay for. No Frills for that discount. You call the “at home” working agent with the booking info, it gets booked and takes weeks to get a confirmation number and call them to pay in full -90 days. So, most of the work is done by the cruiser. Still a good deal, 11% + 5% (Voyagers Club). The 11% is off the price, not an OBC.
  2. A 7 night cruise gets 8 days x $17 or $136.00. Very convenient and well worth not having to wait for a offsite shuttle in the hot Fl weather.
  3. The most important aspect of the browse internet to us is the viewing of our Doorbell and outside house cameras when away. The browse included internet has zero problems with home camera notifications and we can speak with anyone ringing the doorbell. Every other internet access is secondary to us when vacationing. We have been very satisfied with the included YC internet.
  4. The first 3 YC Cruises we really enjoyed the special Butler touches like escorting us to meals, making reservations, taking us off the ship at ports but after that each successive cruise we weened off the Butler services because we enjoyed being more independent. On the Meraviglia we were one of twelve cabins and wanted the newbies to get most of the attention. The Junior Butler aka Room Steward was diligent in his/her duties and we interacted multiple times a day. The YC is a quiet refuge when needed conducive for relaxing with zero stress, long lines, noisy little darlings, etc. We feel it is well worth the extra money even without the Butler service.
  5. We melt our choc ships down, takes minutes in the pan. Smooth the melted dark choc out on wax paper, add roasted almonds and cool. Cut up into bars. Amazing dark chocolate snacks.
  6. In April on the Divina there was a Bar area by the pool on Deck 15 serving Gelato and soft serve. I inquired about the cost. The Bartender (Happy from Africa) said for YC Guests it was all complimentary but a charge for others. The ship makes the Gelato and Soft Serve. On the Meraviglia the Gelato is made and sold by a concession (contracted) company and everyone pays. The Gelato was not cheap.
  7. Ziggy Lisowski was at the top of the chain as the Hotel Director. The best guy ever, caring, professional and humble, old school greatness. He retired 1.5 years ago and lives with his wife and family in Poland. He is on linkedin if you want to communicate with him.
  8. Great decision on MSCs part. Kudos for eliminating the stress and hassle and expense and time taken to get the pre cruise Covid Test. Things will quickly return to normal.
  9. Arthur was excellent as YC Maitre'd but equally as good or better was Luis, Le Musé Maitre'd from Portugal. Case in Point, MSC has some top notch personnel on every ship.
  10. My wife's fav part of cruising is dressing up so she brings a formal/semi formal dress for each night. I normally wear a long sleeve shirt and a jacket with no tie for dinner. Part of the mystic of cruising is experiencing what you do not do at home. And the great part is you can do your thing dress wise as long as it is not too outrageous.
  11. Drop off the family and bags at the tent, terminal 10 Drive across the street to the multi story lot, park inside to protect the car. Walk across the street to YC Tent. Amazingly easy and convenient. After the cruise, debark early early and you will be out in minutes, homebound. Add one day to your parking, 7 night cruise is 8 days parking at $17 per day. PC is just the best scenario for cruising conveniences.
  12. Never received invites to the Specialty Dining. Normally ask the Butler or YC Concierge to book us or walk by Butchers Cut and made a reservation and never received a charge. The system should know the status levels of cruisers and it seems to work, i have never specifically mentioned I am a Diamond Member. If by chance I was charged erroneously, I would notify the YC Concierge for the removal. All bases are covered.
  13. They make the announcement to go to your stations for an hour. We take the stairs. Once you get to the entrance, card scanned and its over. There are many Muster Stations on the floor and there is no stampede. quick and easy.
  14. It is a very simple organized process. Watch the short video. Dial a 4 digit # Walk the stairway to Deck 7 (depending on ship) Get cruise card scanned Free to walk around. took no longer than 10 mins. Very simple process.
  15. After driving to MIA for years, putting up with horrific traffic from Stuart Fl to the port, paying up to $14 to take Carpool lanes and paying $25+ per day to park, PC was a blessing. Best kept secret of all. We are hooked on the convenience of PC and even though the MSC PC itineraries are repetitive we still will continue. The parking at the Terminal 10 garage is sublime. Drop wife off with luggage, park the car inside and protected, walk over to meet her and proceed up the escalator to check-in.
  16. 100% easier and convenient than Miami.
  17. So glad the word is spreading positively about MSC cruises in the USA. A great product for a reasonable price.
  18. My suits have been ruined but of course not notice until you get home. So, this really isnt a perk on a cruise ship. And fighting with the powers to be for a tear in a shirt is not worth the stress, especially with a yr or two yr old piece of clothing. They claim it is valueless. So, best bet if free or pay, NO laundry on a ship. i now bring 5 very very light 50 UV rated shirts for DAY/BEACH wear. No sun screen needed and they wash in the sink and dry in no time. The days of shlepping 7 long sleeve shirts, suits, tux plus accessories are OVER. My point? Nothing to even wash or dry clean with the new casual dress clothes.
  19. Everytime we have sent clothes for dry cleaning or washing and ironing there is a calamity. Iron burns, over bleached, buttons melted or missing. We decided years ago whether gratuitous or not we will never do wash or dry cleaning on a cruise ship. So, that perk would be of no benefit to us just as the YC free liquor is no benefit to us since we only drink water or tea. Very content with the MSC Diamond perks!
  20. I would expect MSC to follow suit because if not they will lose cruisers to RCL. Bet the change happens soon.
  21. We get the choc ships, great dinner for two, 2 pictures, gifts. Cannot imagine what more they can give us? I spoke to the HD in April and he asked if I was satisfied with the loyalty program, 30,000 + points. I said it was amazing and there is no reason to enhance it. There is nothing more we would want that is realistic. We only cruise in the YC which has its own amenities that enough is enough. He undoubtedly passed my comments on. Once you reach 10,000 points its over. You get great amenities as long as you cruise once every 3 yrs as mentioned above. i just don't want to see the loyalty program get watered down with benefits reduced. The Captains Club benefits were watered down. Zeniths have no access to the Retreat Lounge. Only suite guests.
  22. I have inquired about the possibility and was told nothing is in the pipeline. The Diamond Level gives some great perks and will we continue our patronage even with our over 10K qualification points.
  23. The TV stations are abysmal on the Divina so other than the mandatory muster film there is nothing worthwhile watching. All the current news and weather, etc can be checked on the internet. If we want ambient noise we use Pandora.
