  1. Great start!! My DDs (20 & 22) had the same reaction to wine when we were in Amsterdam and Paris a month ago. Looks like you all are having a wonderful time! Thanks for posting!
  2. And the jerk chicken is very tasty! Your drink pic is making me thirsty😉
  3. And another Platinum perk that I use is the Plat/Diamond line at Guest Services. That has been available on the five cruises I've been on since Restart. And now you get $25 per Platinum passenger for the casino, so remember to pick that up for some gambling on Carnival!
  4. I also remember popovers that were so good at SeaDay Brunch. Haven't seen those since the Restart. Sad face😔
  5. I'm looking at Saint Greg's website and the only items with an upcharge are the fresh pressed juices, peel n eat shrimp and lobster benedict.
  6. I'm looking at the brunch menu that is post 10 in this thread and it doesn't like the tower had a charge. I remember I used to be able to order lox, sliced onion and tomato (with capers, I think) through morning room service. Yum!!
  7. A friend of ours who was a professional musician (guitar) is taking a themed cruise on MSC around Feb 15, 2023 out of Miami, I think. Many bands are performing on this cruise plus he is participating (for extra money) in a jam session with some of these musicians that are on board. I'm very excited for him!
  8. That is a very good point and definitely something to consider before you purchase or use Carnival gift cards👍
  9. My parents stayed at my house and took care of my first born who was 6 months at the time while DH and I had 5 days in Hawaii. Awesome trip! If there is family you would trust, that's an option. I have to say the first born was miffed with me for half a day when I returned. Little stinker🥰She's now 22 and doesn't show signs of post trauma from the Hawaii trip experience. Congrats on your upcoming baby. Someone said it's like having your heart go walking around outside of your body 😊
  10. I'm Platinum and I accessed my stateroom around 11:15am. I quickly changed into my swimsuit and sandals and put my clothes that I wore at embarkation into a drawer. Not smart. I had informed a room attendant of my stateroom number and that I left my backpack in the closet. My actual stateroom attendant took my embarkation clothes out of the drawer and put it in a bag to be taken to lost and found. Fortunately I came back to the room around 1:30 and the clothes were returned. So lesson learned, if you change clothes put them in your backpack/luggage so the attendant doesn't think they were left by the previous cruiser. 😜
  11. Definitely check out Emeril's! I had a muffuletta sandwich big enough for two and it was delish! For bfast I had Banana Fosters crepes. So good!! I wish we would have skipped ChiBang and had more meals at Emeril's. Also, go to Big Chicken! Best chicken sandwich and we had bfast there as well. Super tasty!! There's gelato on Lido (near the shwarma station, kinda hidden) and Street Eats changes daily and is a tasty treat! Have a great cruise!!
  12. Like a previous poster stated, maybe the SC Governor will step in (like the Florida one did for Key West) and rule that cruise ships can port in Charleston. I hope so...
  13. Right! I know I'll be able to spend my gift card money on one of my five upcoming Carnival cruises, if need be.
  14. Closer than Jacksonville, FL for me so I'd be good to go!😃
  15. Shoot, I hope chia pudding is still available! One of my favs on SeaDay Brunch!
  16. I had 2 Alchemy bartenders recognize me from a cruise I took with my DH in January to a cruise I took with my mom in April. They asked me where my DH was and I said "someone needs to stay home and work". I appreciate all the hard work and remembering of names that the Carnival staff does.
  17. It's easier to add the tip to the receipt but I think I will carry singles with me for next cruise. I always tip out in cash (on top of pre-paid gratuities) to my room steward and MDR staff so why not tip my favorite bartenders in cash?😄
  18. Is it a "vaccination" like listed above or a therapeutic, like a flu shot? Could that be why people get confused about the "efficacy" of the Covid shots and boosters? I know I was confused when the "vaccine" was introduced.
  19. I would love to hear about your Pride cruise this October! If you do a review, please post a link here. Thanks!!
  20. I order gift cards through Allstate Insurance. You don't have to have insurance with Allstate (though we do) just establish an account. There is a thread here that regularly posts codes that add points to your account. Search CC for Allstate. Using said codes you can build points (plus once a day you can check into Allstate rewards and get 50 points) and when you have accumulated 1000 points (I know it sounds like a lot but the codes can be worth 2000 a time) you can purchase a Carnival gift card worth $1000 for $900. Let me know if you have more questions. I wish I would have known about this a couple years ago🤑
  21. On Pride out of Rome next October! Thanks for posting your review!
