  1. Well I finally learned my lesson and while recently in Naples, FL I took the advice of the ageless Dolly Parton who says, if it’s baggin, saggin or draggin…get it nipped, tucked and sucked. Oceania here I come!
  2. People who cruise say just 1x/year or every few years are not going anywhere, they will gladly pay what they feel is a good value for their vacation time. May shop around to find it, but they are not going to care if they only get one spiny or cold water lobster, they won't care if they pay 10 bucks for room service or whatever the drink package costs. Good on them, they are out to have a fun time and they will. There are FAR more people like that then there are here on CC
  3. Don't you not understand that if there were no tipping on a cruise ship you would be paying a higher base fare ? Yeppers, I understand. This is why I'd have NO problem if X increased their fares and included EVERYTHING for everyone. I'd still be shopping around for the fare that best suits me though, and I love X but they are not the only ship on the ocean.
  4. used consistently for 30 years is going to lose its sparkle. This is exactly what my ex told me...
  5. At 63 yo I'll be on my first O cruise in May. I look forward to being the "youngen on board" and I look forward to being able to run to my room faster that everyone else for my 9:30pm bed time.
  6. “Ambush” style of new charges! got drama?!
  7. Looking to book Constellation from Tampa in Feb and want to try Aqua Class. Is it worth the cost. Totally 100% subjective and I think you'll get as many yes as no Also it includes a drink package which I hope works in Blu. It will
  8. Didn't I already answer that question? Yes there are USB ports but only on one side of the bed and also on the dressing table but you have to run a long cord across the room and have the room steward tape it down for you so nobody trips over it.
  9. I was in the EV, they had them but they were useless
  10. Glad to hear that you booked another cruise on X. There must be a reason that you did so, because the list of what you posted here is like a scary novel, not that I agree, because on my TA this past fall NONE of what you mention here did I encounter. All that being said, I just booked a cruise on O for May 2023.
  11. I never begrudge or resent paying tips to the crew. As for "any increase in gratuities" it is not OK with me because it simply means the cruise lines are forcing us to pay what should be better wages for the crew. A double edge sword because I for one will not take that out on the crew, so therein is the dilemma, stiff the crew to get back at corporate, I just can't do that.
  12. Good question but before you jump ship, peruse the boards of a few other lines, there is a growing common thread. I’m finding that for my $$ I just shop around and find what seems best for me knowing nothing is going to be 100% perfect on the lines that I will consider.
  13. Not a silly question to me, I’ve been looking myself. I’m going to call Juan at Oceania in a little while as I’ve got a few other questions for him as well. I’ll post here after I speak with him.
  14. Rich: would you be in favor of X going truly all inclusive, where the only upcharge would be the difference in what one pays for the type of room/suite they select, otherwise everything is the same for every passenger?
  15. NSSC: I’m just curious if you happened to have done a comparison of a similar cruise on another line; # of days, cabin type, itinerary etc and if so what might have been the cost difference.
  16. As a non-drinking couple, I am glad O makes purchasing optional. That said, I'd not be very pleased if they did something like this to me pre-cruise if I had already paid in advance and in good faith. If I was not able to back out of it, I'd just suck it up and say lesson learned (still not be pleased) and I am also in the still tip the crew camp. They just put the OP in a really suck and unfair situation.
  17. While I never looked at the menus on the app pre-cruise because it didn't matter to me. I do know in Luminae they offered the "classics" everyday but I honestly can't remember how many entree or app offerings they had available each day. I seem to recall it was three but perhaps four? Either way, I was always able to find something I enjoyed and did try to mix it up day to day. Though I will say I had creme brulee as dessert more often than not. All I know is that whatever I ordered and ate was delicious.
  18. Well if nothing else, it’s certainly providing a good entertainment value for free
  19. Thank you very much, we’ll start checking for when sign up opens. My husband is Chinese and would love to do the Red Ginger class if it’s still being offered.
  20. You took photos of a person in medical distress?? Nuff said...
  21. Do you know how soon prior to the cruise they open sign-ups?
