  1. Very nice and balanced review. Glad you enjoyed your cruise, many here believe the EClass is designed with your demographic in mind.
  2. I’ve not taken that particular excursion but I can tell you that any time spent in Tuscany is time well spent!
  3. You forgot your opening line: do not let the PH “snobs” make you envious
  4. Well IMO they do have a great product. I did a 14 day TA on Edge in October/November and I loved the ship and had a great experience! Now it’s just hard to justify spending almost the same amount of money on a 7 day Med cruise when I can spend $4k less on Oceania, with frankly better port stops.
  5. PH snobs!?! Your drama teacher would be proud!
  6. Totally agree here, Celebrity prices are really making me look elsewhere. Going to give Oceania a try in May, somewhat similar itinerary for a 7 day Mediterranean is $4200 less for a similar suite. Was a no brainer, so we shall see.
  7. I thought the EDGE was stunning in every way
  8. On EDGE in Oct/Nov they were 7:30 & 9:30
  9. Please don't sigh! I have to say, I recently did the Celebrity Edge, Edge Villa Suite solo on a 14-day TA. It was truly a splurge for my 60th birthday, booked in Dec. 2019 (when I turned 60) for what was to be a May 2020 cruise, but COVID had other ideas, so I celebrated my 60th this year, at 2019 prices in 2022 in the EV, not to shabby. Anyway, I'd honestly not stay in the EV again, oh it was a lovely very large 2 level suite, but I was hardly in my room. Off the ship all day at the 5 port stops and then even on all of the 8 sea days, maybe 2 or 3 times I spent any semi-significant time in the suite, otherwise I did make use of the Retreat areas, but the rest of the ship was so so nice, that is where I spent almost all of my time. For my first Oceania cruise this coming May, while port intensive, I imagine when on the ship, again most of our (my hubby is joining me on this cruise) time will be out and about enjoying all the Vista looks like it has to offer. The upper suites, while really lovely, but for our style of cruising, they just don't make sense to put all that extra $$ into something we will not take full advantage of. So I guess what I am saying is been there, done that, glad I did but don't need to again.
  10. Love seeing this, thank you for taking the time to post it. We too will be Oceania first timers in May 2023 and very much like seeing other new O cruiser experiences. Curious to know what other line(s) have you sailed? For us, we will be graduating from Celebrity.
  11. I felt the same on the Edge in Oct/Nov. Thankfully I was just uisng OBC, that is until after my second visit I cancelled everything after and had the OBC refunded. The staff were, IMO, the most phony sales like I have dealt with and don't even get me started how they lectured me about tipping. Thankfully everything else about the cruise was near perfect, esp ALL of the other staff.
  12. Not mandatory, let them know the first night and you'll bbe fine thereafter. I was recently on Edge solo and had my own table every night
  13. Consider it a “convenience” fee, much like the ridiculous fees charged by online ticket agencies.
  14. When I cruised on the Edge this fall, it was an option when I did online checkin.
  15. Glad to hear that your dad is recovering! I too learned my travel insurance lesson the hard way. Just here to give another plug for Allianz, I use them for all my travel coverage, have never had to make a claim thus far but the piece of mind is well worth it.
  16. Hence the title of the post, DUH on me!
  17. I no longer drink, but as a now retired former professional drinker, IMO there is nothing "premium" about Celebrity's premium drink pacakge, just like the premium wifi.
  18. They weren't serving wine or beer on the ship?
  19. Well I don’t drink alcohol so any time it’s included it’s too much $$ to me. However IMO the cost of the drink packages is very expensive
  20. You remind me of me and my husband, we are an interracial gay couple with a noticeable age difference. Have totally given up on sitting at anything but a table for two. We are both so not sensitive and have a great sense of humor (just ask us Lol) but some of the questions we have been asked, rather quizzed about, were beyond personal and inappropriate.
  21. Don't make yourself " crazy " over it. Is this even possible on CC???
  22. The quarter size cod caught my attention too, hard to take a review seriously when there is very clear exageration, negates the entire thing for me. Still looking forward to our first O cruise in May 2023!
  23. If you "buy just one", of course it will be a single glass to drink from and it is not meant to share, if you both want to participate, pay for two, it's not difficult.
