  1. As PacnGoNow reported above, your boarding experience will be vastly different than the boarding of the giant Allure of the Seas! The only wait time we have experienced is when the ship has just returned from a TA and there is Customs work for all the ship's crew, or there are Coast Guard testing or drills. Basically, if you are there before 11:30 you will be on board before noon.
  2. I agree. We have found the ED usually in the back of the theatre while they are monitoring the show.
  3. Congratulations on the coordination of tasks. The important thing is that you are still active cruisers. We have been married for over 31 years and my wife got me interested in looking at a cruise for our honeymoon and that's all it took. 58 cruises later, 54 with Princess, we are both working as a team in researching voyages, picking cabins and looking at excursions. She does most of the economics in watching the booking to see if there are any prices changes and I do the logistics side with getting there and back, doing the log book preparation and the spreadsheet to have the information as to how many ships are in each port with their size and time in port. We enjoy quizzing each other for the itinerary and this becomes quite a chore since we have 4 voyages booked between this November and September next year. Needless to say, there aren't many surprises when it comes to cruises other than if she says, "there is a nice little cruise out of Port Canaveral that we should look at".
  4. Glad to hear of your solution and congrats for a very unique surprise. I could never pull that off since we research all our bookings together and there isn't a way to hide the deposit or final payment. Enjoy the voyage!
  5. Good to see Mark Turner as Associate Hotel GM. We got to know him many years ago when he was Assistant CD and he was terrific.
  6. Why would a company purposely try get loyal passengers that spend a lot of money to move to another cruise line?
  7. Great question which points to a bigger issue for Princess. Our understanding is that with Plus and Premier you can go to those listed in the plan twice...total not twice for each one. If that is true, my concern is that the business at Alfredo's will dry up because those with the Standard package might not want to spend the up-charge to go there and those with the Plus and Premier packages might not go there that often because they might use their chit at the other venues. If all that is possibly true, the bigger question is what the heck were they thinking? Can we do a clock rewind and go back to before Padgett era?
  8. For years I have used a fax to submit my benefit information. The cover sheet contains all the information required regarding the booking and I print out the broker statement, mark out the account number and cover all the other stocks on the page and then copy that to include with the fax cover page. I submitted three bookings over the weekend and received all three confirmations two days later with new booking confirmations. When it becomes an issue using the fax method, I'll use the email method shown above.
  9. We have always said that. Try to figure out when they provide casino discount on a cruise and then you might have an answer to who gets free passage.
  10. It is always great that the crew and staff take time to spend some quality time with the passengers. They are still very grateful to have us back and supporting their efforts. We booked another cruise to go along with the other 3 we have on the books and sent a message to Oscar on the Caribbean Princess and he wrote back right away and so happy to be with us again. It's good to be with the Princess family atmosphere.
  11. That would be a real good sign of getting back to pre-covid. For now, I will be happy with the non-taxable dividend the SHB provides.
  12. The information is correct. I am so happy for Carlos that he has been given the opportunity to be the DRO. He has been a real friend on every voyage we have been on and look forward to sailing with him soon.
  13. There was a Carlos that was Rui's right hand and I believe that is who is replacing Rui for the two months. Carlos went with Mario to be on the Sapphire Princess and I heard that he was then made the Food and Beverage Director. If you are still on the Emerald when Carlos is there, please say hi to him from is friends Greg and Carolyn Snider. I'm sure he will remember us and find out where he will be after Rui gets back.
  14. I do the same thing by bringing a small bottle of Cholula and leave it in Sabatini's for breakfast. At the end of the cruise I leave it for them to use.
  15. Yes, that's for your safety so no one can get into your account. Glad it all worked out for you.
  16. Good response. I do look at the name on the medallion as a reminder.
  17. Understood. My real objection is the allowing of anything less than "business casual" meaning slacks and collared shirt for men and slacks, dress, pant suit, blouse, etc. for women for the evening meal in the MDR. Shorts, teeshirts, swimwear, exercise wear and the like should not be allowed.
  18. Thanks. I agree with that. If they don't want to follow the dress suggestions there are other dining venues besides the MDR.
  19. I got my SHB the next day after faxing it in.
  20. In all the years I have been submitted my request for SHB I have never done the email method. I always have faxed mine in using a fax cover sheet with all the information regarding the booking and a copy of the account page showing the shares of CCL with the account number removed. I usually get a result in as little as one day but if it is over the weekend it might take a couple of days.
