  1. @Peanut006 Great news that your mum is home and doing so much better Michelle. She's done so well after a very worrying week. So pleased for you all. Jane xx
  2. @Peanut006. Dear Michelle. I am so sorry to read how poorly your mum is. It's only a few weeks since you posted that glorious family photo and we all commented on how sprightly your mum looked. I really hope she gets to respite quickly and they can work on her mobility and confidence. Love and hugs. Jane xx
  3. Oops! I posted too soon @TigerB. Part Two appeared on my screen just minutes later. What a fabulous surprise! I absolutely loved your dockers replies - just like my family - even though we're not dockers! You are going to have the greatest time. So pleased for you. Jane xx
  4. Great intro @TigerB and thank you very much. I look forward to your live/not live report as and when you are able. I'm glad you are not apologising for the food porn - always welcome and sometimes worth salivating over. i wish Our Lass a very happy zero birthday on 25th. Have a great time. Jane xx
  5. Me too. Coffee at the ready but no Selbourne! I do hope you are both ok and, as @Purdey16 says, just having a day off. Jane xx
  6. @Peanut006 So sorry to hear this Michelle. Your mum really is in the best place and under observation. Avril's advice is good - all worrying does is stress you out and give you a headache. I hope all is well soon. Look after yourself. Love and hugs. Jane xx
  7. Sorry to hear this Michelle. I didn't mention this the other day, but my mum also wasn't very well after her pacemaker was fitted. Like your mum, she was very fragile, wobbly, and extremely sore for a good week afterwards. She needed to be looked after. When you think about it, the fitting is a very intrusive procedure and whilst it may be quite routine for the surgeons, we all know how much longer anything takes to heal as we age - and in patients who are in their late 80s, early 90s it's a big thing. On the plus side, once she recovered, my mum was absolutely fine with her pacemaker. It did the job and she never had any problems heart-wise after that. I do hope your lovely mum is more herself today and can come home soon. Love and hugs. Jane xx
  8. Happy Valentine's Day everyone. For those of us expecting cards, flowers, and a lovely meal out tonight - don't be so smug! As Graham said, it's also the first day of Lent today so I will do my normal giving up chocolate until Easter Sunday - shame I can't do it for the other 40- odd weeks of the year. On a serious note re Steve Wright: I didn't ever listen to him on the radio but it appears, from all the tributes, that he was very popular and well-loved. It's always sad to hear of people passing away at such an age. So, RIP young man - you will be missed. Have a good day everyone. Jane xx
  9. @Interestedcruisefan. I'm envious! Sounds like a great night. Hope you enjoy it all. Jane xx
  10. That's such good news Michelle - unexpectedly good. Fingers crossed she'll have a good night and be home tomorrow. Jane xx
  11. @Peanut006 Good morning Michelle. Just a quick good luck for your mum today and for you as well. I hope they manage to fit her in today anyway because the waiting is horrible. Jane xx
  12. Good Morning Gill Thanks for your kind enquiry about Teddy. I am glad to report that he is back to full health now. His tummy is recovered - so much so that he tried to snaffle a couple of manky chips that had been cast aside on the pavement. Will he ever learn? Yes we also had a few fireworks going off last night so Teddy was also very put out! Have a good day Gill and thanks again. Jane xx
  13. Don't we just Kalos! Poor old gits that we are. 58/96 is brilliant by the way. Jane xx
  14. Not sure Michelle. When my own mum had a pacemaker fitted, she didn't have to take any medication alongside but this may depend on each patient's individual diagnosis. As long as your mum is being well looked after is all that matters. Hugs. Jane xx
  15. Thank you @mrsgoggins for your very enjoyable blog. I hope you and MrG feel recovered from your coughs soon. Ventura has always been my favourite ship with P&O and I'm happy you enjoyed her so much. Jane xx
  16. Sorry Michelle - I should have read further before replying. It's good she's staying in intil after the op so they will monitor her closely. Hope all goes well. Best wishes. Jane xx
  17. Me too Graham. 2.5 bisoprolol daily forever with the same heart rate as you. I've been on them since 2007 when I was diagnosed with SVT and cardioverted - not pleasant. I've been ok on them though. Jane xx
  18. Sorry to hear this Michelle. I hope mum's heart rate settles and you get positive news today. Thinking of you and mum. Jane xx
  19. @yorkshirephil. It's that day again Phil - Happy Birthday! As you and Mrs YP appear to be having such a brilliant holiday I'm sure you'll have a great day today as well. Best wishes. Jane xx
  20. Wonderful photos Selbourne - especially the colourful parrots and that dear little monkey. You made me laugh aloud in your description of the coffee experience when you said "still at least they had a loo" as if that was the best part of the tour! Very funny. With all the things that have not been good on this cruise I wonder how you'll view it in years to come. Fond memories or the 'sore throat' cruise? It will be interesting to see. Sorry to hear you are still suffering with your throat by the way. I do hope it improves without a costly visit to the medical centre. Once again, thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into your daily updates. As you can tell from all the comments everyone is still very much enjoying our daily fix with morning coffee. Best wishes. Jane xx
  21. Great news Sue. I can remember exactly that scenario with my mum when she went into care. It was a real turning point. I hope mum continues to enjoy all the activities. I'm so pleased for you. Jane xx
  22. Finally, a good day for you both @Selbourne. What a wonderfully colourful port. It looks clean too. Thanks once again for your continued reviews - I'm pretty sure they are the morning 'go to' for a lot of us now. I hope you start to feel better soon. Best wishes. Jane xx
  23. Oh that's a shock Snow Hill. Good job you followed your dentist's instructions. After 11 hours in A&E you will hopefully sleep well tonight. Wish you better. Jane xx
  24. @mrsgoggins. Thank you so much for your reviews which I've been following avidly and thoroughly enjoyed. Your time and trouble is much appreciated. Fingers crossed for calm seas on your way home. Jane xx
  25. Ouch! That sounds really nasty Snow Hill - no wonder you couldn't sleep. I hope the ABs kick in sharpish and the pain is eased once they start to take effect. I wish you better soon. Jane xx
