  1. Welcome home Kalos and Mrs K. So glad you had a great time. A belated Happy Birthday to you both and congratulations to Mrs K on your retirement. Jane xx
  2. How lovely Michelle. Hope you have a really nice meal tonight and Happy Birthday to your Little Princess tomorrow. Jane xx
  3. @twotravellersLondon I loved your post! I loved the sentiment behind it and the menu sounds yummy. Have a fabulous evening. Jane xx
  4. Thanks Michelle. Aren't they funny! Rosie and Teddy sound very similar in their walk avoidance tactics. I do hope all goes well at the hospital next week. Have a lovely weekend. Jane xx
  5. Hello Gill. Teddy is getting better slowly thank you. His tum is not back to normal yet and he's spent a lot of hours just sleeping. He obviously believes that in his delicate condition he shouldn't be expected to walk so I'm letting him drive his recovery. He's eaten very small amounts of chicken and rice only and he does seem a bit happier but it's hard to tell because he's such a good actor! Thanks for asking Gill. Best wishes to you and Freddie. Jane xx
  6. Great photos Phil. Thanks for including us in your lovely holiday - you sound very chilled and rested.- just what a holiday should be. Keep on enjoying. Jane xx
  7. How lovely Graham. I bet the book is exquisite. Jane xx
  8. A muzzle is something I've got to think about seriously Eddie. Ted is part Spaniel and I think that's where the scavenger element comes into play. The trouble is he's so incredibly spoilt and I can't bear the thought of putting a muzzle on him - time to toughen up I think (me, not him) beccause I'd hate him to end up on a drip. Jane xx
  9. Thank you Presto for a really balanced and informative review. I'm so glad you both had such a special retirement cruise - with so many more to look forward to. Jane xx
  10. Thanks very much Graham. Ted has been asleep for most of the day. He's a bit more lively now but still below par. Mind you, he's a bit of a drama queen so he might be putting it on. It sounds like you had a lovely morning. I hope Father David is well. Pauline must have beautiful writing if she writes in the Church Memorial Book. Does she do Calligraphy? Jane xx
  11. Thanks so much Gill. The invalid has been asleep for most of the day. Ted's problem is he's a gannet. He's always diving for something left on the ground when we go out walking - an old bit of KFC, half a Big Mac, anything will do! Even unwell he would still eat if I let him. The problem is people just throw their unwanted take-aways all over the place. I despair of the state of our high streets now. I hope Freddy stays well. Jane xx
  12. Good Morning Michelle I was wondering the same "where is everyone?". I've been up most of the night as my dear little Ted has a very upset tummy. Poor little soul wanted to go out numerous times between 2am and 5am so mummy has to accompany him as he's scared of the dark! He's sleeping soundly now so I guess he's evacuated all the necessary. What he doesn't realise is that he's going in the bath when he's fully awake then he'll sulk for a couple of hours. I'm so pleased to hear your trades have all been so reliable - not something you hear much these days. I bet you can't wait until it's all done and dusted. Your mum sounds amazing Michelle. That's admirable to still be living independently at 90. Good on her and long may it last. Have a good day. Jane xx
  13. @Eddie99: Thank you again Eddie for letting us accompany you on your cruise. You can see from the comments how much we've all enjoyed reading you. Once @Selbourne and @mrsgoggins are back I'll have to start reading books again! Seriously, a great read so thanks once again and welcome home. Jane xx
  14. Wow Graham that all looks fabulous. So glad you and Pauline had such a good time. How lovely that that you met up with Mr & Mrs Eddie99. Actually @Eddie99 did mention on her blog that she'd met some delightful people from CC but she didn't say who. I should have guessed. Welcome home both. Best wishes. Jane xx
  15. Wishing you a very Happy Anniversary Avril and Frank. Have a lovely lunch with your family and enjoy your day. Very best wishes. Jane xx
  16. +1 re Kalos and Mrs K. I also was starting to wonder where he was. So, I hope your both alright Mr &Mrs Kalosand having a nice break somewhere. @Adawn47 Glad to hear Frank is improving Avril. Sorry to hear about the vaping but no doubt you're keeping a very close eye on it! Haven't these boards been good to read over the last few weeks. The reports from @Selbourne, @Eddie99 and @mrsgoggins have been so interesting. I've really felt like I've been on 3 different cruises - we've got some good scribes on CC. Have a good day everyone. Jane xx
  17. Thanks @Eddie99 You've given us a taste of a great cruise with your lively and witty blog. I've enjoyed it tremendously and look forward to The Epilogue! Jane xx
  18. @Eddie99 Thanks so much for your very interesting and witty blog. You sound as though you're really enjoying yourselves - despite your trepidation before you left. Photos are great too. Keep on having a great time. Jane xx
  19. Good Morning All Very windy here last night and, like Snow Hill, we have the Dalek lookalike bins. Quite a few small trees down here but the council guys are already out to clear them. It seems a lot calmer now so hopefully Jocelyn is moving away to pester some other poor souls. Keep well and stay safe everyone and Avril - hope Frank is still improving. Best wishes. Jane xx
  20. @Selbourne Importantly, continued thanks for your still very interesting daily news. You're very good to put as positive a spin on daily events as you do. After yesterday I'd have been inclined to write "nothing happened" and leave it there! Such a shame you've ended up with Captain Disengaged. I've been on cruises where the passengers actually looked forward to the Captain's daily musings, and where a roar of laughter could be heard on the open decks when he gave his daily address. This guy sounds like he needs a personality transplant! I really hope things improve for you both and yesterday was the turning point. Best wishes. Jane xx
  21. So sorry to hear this MB. As a person who's had pneumonia twice and pleurisy three times I know how painful this can be and how difficult to sleep. Please don't hesitate to seek medical advice in Barbados. I wish you better. Jane xx
  22. Good Morning All I hope you all survived Isha without too much damage. What a wild night it was. Compared to a lot of you, Hertfordshire got off very lightly - just a lot of rain, a wild wind and a bit of tree damage. I hope @Eglesbrech got away safely and the flight wasn't too scary. Have a good day everyone and stay safe. Jane xx
  23. @Interestedcruisefan Fabulous photos ICF. These are memories to cherish forever. Thanks so much for sharing with us. Jane xx
  24. Well said TigerB. I agree with you completely. I think Lord and Lady S have been treated with a total lack of care, interest, and empathy. Such a shame. I do hope it improves for them. Jane xx
