  1. I’ve not done it but from what I’ve read the special dinner includes the items which are normally extra cost like the seafood platters, plus drinks, special deserts and table decorations.
  2. You’ll need to request the cabin that sleeps two. The ottoman cube takes the space up on the sleeps three rooms. But you can sit on the cube.
  3. That had nothing to do with the limitless voyage. The filming for the AI commercial was done just before Valiant Lady left for the transatlantic in April. The affected people were those who had to get off the ship early on changeover day and those who had to get onboard later, hence the 4K as it affected two sailings worth of guests.
  4. I would just treat the loyalty benefits as a bonus don’t assume you will get anything. No one knows what 2024 will bring yet, just there will be a loyalty programme based on previous spend.
  5. There is almost no difference to the configuration. The sleeps three rooms have an ottoman that folds out onto the section of that sofa that is only used when the bed is in sofa mode. The ottoman cube thing means there is no armchair in the room.
  6. The on land concierge and spa access are only for mega rockstar level and are advertised. The Bimini transfer isn’t so much because of course the European itineraries don’t go there so it’s not relevant to everyone. the spa access is listed in the mega benefits here https://www.virginvoyages.com/cabins/suites
  7. you should make restaurant reservations yes, especially if you are on Scarlet Lady which is busy. There will be more slots once onboard so you can always try to move them. Walk ups can happen but now Scarlet Lady is busier it might be harder especially 7-8.30pm. you can put the band wherever you want. But it is your door key and gets scanned for all drink orders and when getting on and off the ship so it needs to be accessible. Apparently you can ask for a card instead but I’ve never seen anyone with one.
  8. But that’s the thing, if they did open the Manor and offer more things then each individual space is going to feel even more dead. With only 1300 onboard, a number of people who just don’t stay up late anyway and those who are off the ship most of ones who are left are probably happy enough with the live band. Have the Manor open too and it will just feel empty.
  9. Yes true so maybe there is more to it than just the taxes issue.
  10. They can open, but just have to charge taxes so the ships choose not to. the casino is different as gambling laws come into it as well as taxes.
  11. When we were on Resilient Lady a couple of weeks ago I don’t think the Manor even opened when we were in Mykonos overnight. There was some stuff earlier (karaoke, trivia etc), a show scheduled at 10pm and the bands in On The Rocks and that was it. I was off the ship anyway, but I think they just accepted it’s not worth trying to run a club night when there is only 1300 onboard and many are off the ship. Also I expect many who were still onboard are happier with live bands than a DJ anyway.
  12. But even without the bar tab offer, the lock it in rate can offer better value compared to the $300 saving and $600 loot of the book onboard offer, assuming you see happen with the conditions of lock it in. Currently for our September date where we are using lock it in it we saved at least £800 and the $300+$600 is about £700. of course lock it in not so good if you want to definitely get an XL or central room. So we use the MNVV deposit for the transatlantic to get the XL room. 🙂
  13. And with the current bar tab offer the lock it in guarantee rate works out a better deal I think then the book onboard next voyage offer. That’s assuming you are okay with not knowing the cabin assignment until 3 days before, can still try bidding once it is issued.
  14. Do you see deep blue extras under add-ons for your cruise? How long is it since you submitted the status match? If it’s been two weeks and you neither have an email confirmation of the match or the extras showing in add-ons then you are best to call. It’s the quickest way to get an answer.
  15. If the sea blazer badge is greyed out you don’t have it. There is no badge for sea rover. But you should see deep blue extras under add-ons for your upcoming voyage?
  16. The onboard currency for Virgin Voyages is always US dollars no matter where the ship is 🙂
  17. If you book with a TA it is often best to go back to them in the first place.
  18. I don’t expect anyone on here will know exactly other than the above answers. But there won’t be anything new to “peruse” really, it’s expected the ship will be the same as the others.
  19. For those who are interested the other price rises I noticed when we were on Resilient last week compared to Valiant Lady last year are the follow. Test Kitchen pairings up from $35 to $40 Standard Absolut vodka and mixer up from $7 to $8. Heineken draught beer up from $5 to $6. Cocktails on menus didn’t appear to have change compared to what I remembered. It seems to be the lower priced drinks they’ve increased.
  20. Did you see the 9pm to 10pm bits of Scarlet Night? The party is only a small part really of the overall night.
  21. Even though the new menu has just as many vegetarian entrees as before and there are fewer meat dishes compared to the old menu. I think it was just badly marketed before as there was always a lot of meat dishes before and some of them were fantastic.
  22. It might just show in the schedule onboard. Some things don’t appear beforehand and a lot changes as the finalised schedule is on the ship.
  23. Just thinking back about our time on Resilient Lady and remembered there is one fairly big difference compared with the other two ships. There are no air hockey tables in the social club. Instead there is a large seating area which is used for the karaoke and trivia. Although I missed not being able to play air hockey, it was a much better space for the hosted activities.
  24. The captain made two announcements on the first day, one to encourage everyone to attend their muster point and one to thank sailors for attending as the safety check in is completed and to announce the free wine time at the sailaway. So you definitely do hear from the captain. Then those who disembark later will hear the captain around 10am as a final request to disembark on time. maybe an in-person presentation from the captain would be nice for anyone who really wants to attend, but I think the number of announcements is fine.
  25. Menu A is mushroom egg scallop venison/beef blue cheese chocolate menu B corn beetroot salmon lamb/shrimp asparagus strawberry
