  1. On my Apex TA this past spring there were some really good current movies on TV that I never had a chance to see so many nights upon returning to the cabin for the evening I'd take advantage of seeing a good movie.
  2. I enjoy sitting out on the deck at Eden on the aft of the ship with a book and glass of wine. Its considered a smoking area but I've rarely encountered any and if I do just move down to another spot.
  3. So very happy for them. Hoping they enjoy their cruise immensely
  4. The deluxe insides have a larger sofa thereby adding the extra cabin space. There is also more room between the bed and bathroom. Location is not any better in the ship than a regular cabin price varies by sailing many times the same for both all depends on availability. I'm booked on the Beyond in a regular inside as deluxe was much more but if prices drop I'll probably upgrade. Rarely in my cabin anyway sometimes watch a movie before bedtime. Closet, drawer and vanity space are identical.
  5. Interiors are 188 square feet deluxe 206. I've had a deluxe on Edge and Apex beds are by bathroom regardless of configuration
  6. So happy its all worked out for your parents and they have a wonderful memorable cruise. They are lucky to have you as a son. They obviously did a good job raising you.
  7. No kidding and yet they claim that 90% of claims processed are approved. Why they're not politicians I'll never understand. 😆
  8. I really hope and it does sound promising that Celebrity pulls through for your parents and in addition offers the value of the move up bid and OBC. Yes they may pay a bit more but chalk it up to a hard lesson learned and move on and enjoy their next cruise. I don't know their ages or financial circumstances but if it were me I would take their offer even if hard on the pocket book. After all, life is short and you can't take it with you..
  9. Another point of consideration when trying to make a claim through your credit card company for cancelation is not to split between two credit cards. I put a $100 deposit for a future cruise on a card that has no foreign exchange fees as I was cruising exclusively through the EU in May. Final payment was put on a card that gives me medical coverage. The cruise is next month so hope all is ok but the entire amount has to be on the same card to be valid. Just something to think about.
  10. It wouldn't surprise me. I was on an RCI cruise in August with my Grandson and the tables by the windows during break fast and lunch were reserved for Suite and above guests.
  11. I've had AI twice when it made financial sense. Now that I'm Elite plus the 240 minutes of wifi is enough. If I want a special drink from a bar I just pay for it. Still come out ahead.
  12. I had Chanel sunglasses stolen from my lounger on a cruise ship. They were in a plain pouch sitting on top of my book. Guess she'd read the book. 😆
  13. I'm rooting for your parents that Celebrity pulls through with a successful outcome. Do not give up hope.
  14. Some time ago I read on these boards of 3 young people staying in a hotel room in Barcelona had their passports stolen from the room safe. In fact the entire safe was missing. I always leave my belongings in room safes but now wonder if better to keep them on me in a small money belt well hidden under clothing. There are so many horror stories around.
  15. Last September 2022 I had a concierge SV and received an invite to the helipad sail away. It annoyed me when I saw people wearing Sandals flip flops etc in attendance as I specifically brought my runners for this reason only.
  16. Definitely not worth it. I had a sunset verandah on deck 10 and went to the helipad to see sailaway. So so disappointing as my views from my own veranda were much better. Maybe from a regular balcony it would be ok
  17. In retrospect maybe I shouldn't have booked March break but the alternative was March 1 and its three weeks after my Panama canal cruise on Princess. Guess I'll just bite the bullet.
  18. Thanks I did check porters flights and its almost a $100 savings return over AC. Only thing is they charge for carry on and my bag will fit under the seat
  19. Will check porter airlines but I thought they fly out of the island Airport and I live in Mississauga pretty close to Pearson. Thanks for the information
  20. I guess its expensive as around March break. I booked a Panama canal for January and paid under $500.
  21. Yeah no kidding. I recently booked the Beyond for March and return flights from Pearson are just under $800. Thinking of booking with Celebrity and flying out day of cruise. Any advice?
  22. I took a princess cruise in January of this year as well as one last month with RCI as I promised my grandson a fun cruise. Also booked the Silhouette for November as the price for a balcony cabin was quite reasonable and I received $650 onboard credit. A few days ago I called and spoke to an agent who said he could upgrade me to a C2 category at no additional cost. Long story short he messed up my booking so badly said I would lose $400 obc So I asked to be transferred to resolutions who apologized profusely and offered me an additional $200 to stay in my original cabin. All worked out im the end but never again will I get a phone agent make changes for me.
  23. I purchased 2 om the Apex in May and it said 6 months. Just used my second voucher this week for a cruise in March on the Beyond
