  1. Which volcano? The one that erupted last year or the Into the Volcano Tour? The volcano that erupted last year has been dormant for many months. There is no lava spewing. There is no red flow. There is no steam. Just a desolate lava field. It's a nice hike but there really isn't much to see there. The Into the Volcano tour, also available from the city, is amazing. A 20 minute or so hike across an old lava field, then you climb up a dormant (hopefully!) volcano, then they lower you down in a window washer type rig. It's the only place in the world you can do this. Not cheap but definitely unique and worth it. I'd do that again. I wouldn't do a lava field hike to last year's attraction.
  2. I'd stay more in Central Boston, where there are more places for breakfast and touring is at your doorstep. Then take public transit or a cab/uber to the port for your cruise
  3. Ever since Howard Johnson's shut down, Clam Strips are hard to find anywhere. Maybe in the frozen food section of your local grocery store?
  4. Is this a question? We aren't Google here, just people like you. If you have a question feel free to spell it out with as many details as possible. If you don't want to do that I can direct you to check their website for transportation options, if that is your question
  5. Blue Line of the MBTA is VERY convenient and cheap to get to the city for touring. Or Silver Line to South Station is free from the airport. Both are super easy
  6. Clam strip recipe from my grandmother: 1) Take a dozen thick but medium length rubber bands 2) Cut rubber bands into 1.5" strips 3) Bread in cornmeal (or panko) 4) Deep fry for 5 minutes 5) Enjoy!
  7. There are a couple of them. Folks stand out more by using those than just joining the crowd in the general showers. They aren't coed, no one cares what you look like
  8. Those two are on airport property. There is an Embassy Suites just off site, and then there are a half dozen nearby hotels with shuttles. Expect the Hilton and Hyatt to be the highest priced due to location Unless your flight is wicked early, I'd stay in the city and only go to the airport for your actual flight
  9. Maybe book something independently, then? I know you said you didn't want to do so but lots of great tour providers in Iceland
  10. They have packages that include robes and flip flops and drinks and whatever else you might want. We've been twice. Once in water shoes, the next time bare feet
  11. Smaller locations are having very hard times now. Larger sites, like major airports, seem to have good availability. Doesn't help you with this question, but for other travelers who see the question and might be interested, we had no problem getting a 1 week rental in Los Angeles last week for under $400, which matched pre-pandemic pricing. Hopefully vehicles trickle down to remoter locations soon!
  12. Theaters seemed pretty full at the 4 shows we saw in April on two different weekends (2 each visit). Good seats available at TKTS but the places did fill up
  13. I went to the Amazon locker website at https://www.amazon.com/ulp and put in Black Falcon Port (because I can never remember the new name) and it showed me 2 places right at the building. If you say Black Falcon Cruise Terminal the answers differ a bit because it defaults to a downtown Boston address, so don't use that.
  14. You might want to ask over on the forums at railroad.net. You'll have to register to post there but the folks on those boards are very knowledgeable about everything train and train station related
  15. Golden Circle is amazing, if you are into horses I am sure you will enjoy seeing the Icelandic horses go thru their paces. They are smaller and sturdier than most breeds, with fantastic coloring. If you just want glorious nature, though, I'd find an option that doesn't have a horse show attached
  16. Tripadvisor is great for local knowledge. Or you can post your ports and interests (museums, city experiences, adventure, etc) here for advice
  17. that is going to be a problem wherever you leave the bags. They could be left at a downtown hotel if that is more convenient. If the question is "how do my bags get to the airport without me", well, I don't have an answer for that.
