  1. Not a big specialty coffee drinker but might try them if its free. We are not a big internet user so the increase in time is no big deal. The 20% off drink package would be a preferred item if we didn't book AI. Will have to examine the costs. We are light packers so the laundry is appealing to us. It's the small thing in life....LOL. We generally sail on the longer cruises or do B2B. We like to be on board for at least 14 days.
  2. Same for us - we only need 30 more points and our cruise this month for that 2nd bag of laundry!!! We have a 17 day cruise coming up in October and that 2nd bag of laundry being Elite Plus would come in handy!Book another cruise or pay for the laundry.....hmmmm
  3. We were on the Eclipse 1st sailing (after covid) a year ago Vancouver to Hawaii. The ship was in great shape. We had an Aqua class cabin and the cabin was great. The carpet was a little old in our room but clean. Linens were great, draperies were great. She is an older ship but well kept. I know there was another poster who hated the ship but in my eyes they were nit picky over trivial things. Different strokes for different folks.
  4. See you in October - waiting on pins and needles for this answer. We will be on Millie in 18 days - I will try and check it out for you.
  5. Maybe it was the same guy...we were there in August. I guess his since of humor is -- scarring the passengers.
  6. Funny story - I do believe you pass US C+ I when embarking. My husband and I were waiting in a quick moving line and an Official, in uniform, pointed to us to come to his counter while everyone else passed by. He stated our passports had failed. The horror on my face and stuttering of my voice "they aren't expired" - must of made his day. He quickly apologized and stated "you didn't press hard enough when scanning your passports we just need to rescan them - I didn't mean to scare you". My heart rate quickly went back down!! Moral of the story - press on your passport when self scanning them in the machines!
  7. I stand corrected. You are right! Was on both the M class (Alaska) and S class this past year. Sailing on the Millie is a couple of weeks and looking forward to the solarium pool.
  8. The solarium pool is more of a relaxing. There are rollers on the side to lay and relax on and warm water spouts to make you relax. I do believe they have the daily time for families from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. It is a swallow pool with the water a little over waist deep.
  9. We love the French Onion Soup and find it very consistent on different Celebrity Ships. Looking forward to it on our next cruise. With that said come to Breckenridge - the new French Restaurant on Main Street has the BEST French onion soup we have ever had. The soup and a glass of wine is dinner for us.
  10. Elite Plus gets you 2 bags of laundry.....we are so close but yet so far!
  11. You were gambling and hoping to get a "better cabin" than what you paid for. At least it is early enough for you to make a change. That is better than getting your cabin assigned 3 days before your cruise and not being happy with it. If you don't like the cabin, call you TA and most likely you will have to pay for the upgrade. Most of the cabins will sell out prior to your sailing. We did a guarantee once - assigned a not great cabin - so we did the Move Up Bid and that worked out well for us - but that is also a gamble. With this being your first cruise I would book a cabin you want and "bite the bullet". Happy cruising!
  12. We keep checking and no offers for us in the past 4 months. Congrats to all who are able to take advantage.
  13. Contact congress - they are the ones enforcing this law.
  14. Yes we are and looking forward!! We are the same type of travelers as you - just get off the ship for a few hours - I found the Aqua Spa Cafe for lunch to my liking and the Mast Grill. Occasionally, we went to the MDR for lunch. The only time I went to the OVC is for an ice cream cone. We did eat lunch a couple of time in port in Alaska. I miss seafood since we live in the Rocky mountains.
  15. We sailed on Millie for 14 days in Aug/Sept. the ship was in great shape. We were in 2 different Sky suites. Our room attendants were wonderful. We usually don't ask a lot of them. We rarely ate in the OV - but husband really enjoyed the soups for lunch. Luminae restaurant was wonderful and the staff met all our needs before asking. The Aqua spa is a bit small for our liking (S class is better in our opinion) but we did take advantage using it a couple of times. We miss Murano (our favorite speciality restaurant). We ate at Tuscan Grill once and were not impressed. Sushi is on Five is good. I do like the aqua spa cafe for breakfast and lunch. Aqua Spa is a great place to get a cup of coffee in the am and chill. I don't eat a lot so these places fits my needs. I am not a buffet person. I am morning walker and enjoyed the early walks around the ship. They crew was always doing maintenance and always happy to greet me in the morning and ask how far did I walked today. It was fun to interact with the maintenance staff. We do not go to the gym so I can't comment on that. We enjoyed the interior pool area. The service on the ship was outstanding and the crew was great. We are not casino folks so can't comment on that. The Martini bar was a blast and almost always full when we went. The bartenders were FANTASTIC! We will be sailing on Millie again in April for 15 nights. The best part of our trips was meeting guest that we have sailed with before on Celebrity and will sail with them again! There was several of us who booked Solstice in October and a few of us who booked Millie in April. We are not internet folks and disconnect when on a cruise. We also don't watch TV when cruising. The shows are OK and the entertainment staff was a lot of fun. We enjoy trivia and joining in on the games provided by the crew. We are half glass full type of folks and just like to have fun when traveling.
  16. The biggest difference for us is the aqua spa on the Millennium is much smaller than the S class ship. Millie does not have the heated loungers only heated benches. The Murano Restaurant is not on the Millennium. We sailed on Millennium for 2 weeks in August. The ship is in great shape and enjoyed it immensely. We are not casino people so can't comment on that. The Tuscan Grill is tucked away and doesn't give the views that the S class does. The Retreat class is nicer on Millie than on the Solstice. The outdoor area of the retreat is very nice. We were on the Solstice in October and there was no exterior retreat area. We will be on her for the Panama Canal. Looking forward!!
  17. I miss the Swan Puff Pastry from the days of the Zenith and Horizon but we still enjoyed our 47 days on Celebrity this year. Enjoyed lunch from the Aqua Cafe - though I will admit to taking a couple plates at lunch. Always found a favorite bartender to make my drinks the way I like them. Not a big fan of "buffets" but my husband enjoys the soups for lunch. I guess we are the glass is half full type of people. Hate being on a cruise when people constantly complain or compare this cruise to that cruise. We just like to find fellow cruiser who feel the same as us - want to have a good time, relax, have fun and enjoy life. I guess we might stop cruising if we had a boat full of complainers. Out of the 6 cruises this year - the staff went out of their way to make us happy. Yes we did have one meal at the Tuscan Grill that was not greatest - so we didn't go back.
  18. I like the twice of day service and the chocolates. They could cut back on the buffet as far as I concerned but that would cause "Mutiny on the Bounty". Different strokes for different folks.
  19. Could you ask CC - if Celebrity plans on adding the Retreat Sun Deck any time this year. A couple of us on this board were told it would be added in May. We are sailing on Solstice in October and other guests are sailing on her in September. Looks like Solstice has a full schedule in May.
  20. We were told the same thing about being updated in May. We are sailing on her in October. It appears Celebrity added 3 Alaska cruises in May so maybe the updating has been postponed.
  21. We were told the same thing about being updated in May. We are sailing on her in October. It appears Celebrity added 3 Alaska cruises in May so maybe the updating has been postponed.
  22. I was on the Solstice for 3 weeks in October. They stated they weren't having the Crab Shack Lunch and not sure if it would ever come back... I loved the Crab shack lunch! Hopefully they will bring it back someday!.
  23. We sailed in April from Vancouver to Hawaii and then sailed from to Alaska in August - we had 12 couples from the Vancouver cruise on the Alaska cruise - not planned. On the Alaska cruise we met 3 other couples who are doing Hawaii to Sydney next October. Not uncommon at all.
