  1. Thought you were set on a balcony cabin, but the 4J interior is a great value. On cruiseshipdeckplans there is a link to a YouTube video of cabin 7205.
  2. And grapefruit as well. My DH sometimes gets grapefruit and pineapple together, the sweetness of the pineapple compliments the tartness of the grapefruit.
  3. She has no one to blame but herself for wearing pumps. If she wore sensible flats she would have nothing to complain about.
  4. September on the Celebration over the 15 day B2B we were on.
  5. Flipper will be disappointed. 😉😉😉
  6. Place the chairs inside your cabin and have the four of you stand on the balcony. There is no room for four chairs on a standard Carnival balcony.
  7. But you're talking about a brand new ship versus an old rust bucket. You need to always compare an apple to an apple. Plus only you can decide if a balcony is a must or not. We cruise primarily inside on the newest ships on various lines.
  8. Have to add 18% gratuity on top of the 59.95 cost. Getting 10% discounted cards through AARP helps.
  9. Sometimes if there are many eating at the same time on deck 7 of the Palms MDR, anytime dining cruisers could be assigned a table down on deck 6. There is a staircase right there or elevators nearby if needed.
  10. Will have to agree with EM. If you're looking at short cruises, what they offer would be an upgrade over your two choices. Another option would be a four day out of Port Canaveral on the brand new Utopia of the Seas. If your two are your only choices, I'd go with the Sunrise since you also have the option to fly into Miami or Ft Lauderdale versus Orlando.
  11. The heel strap worn this way eliminates this from being a backless shoe or sandal. If the shoes were worn with the heel strap in the forward position, then they would be considered as backless and would be against policy.
  12. Have sailed on the Spirit. It initially was built to cruise Alaska. The Luminosa though came over from Costa, and is based on the Vista Class ships of Carnival. There are many that like the Spirit Class because of the passenger/space ratio, but the Luminosa is slightly larger and is also newer. If case you didn't know, Princess and Holland America are known as better choices for Alaska since they visit some ports and glaciers that Carnival doesn't.
  13. We had a B2B in January of 2022 on the Apex out of Ft. Lauderdale. We left as a group, were escorted off the ship to clear facial recognition and were allowed right back onto the ship. We had the entire ship to ourselves and were relaxing at Cafe al Bacio for about an hour before general boarding began.
  14. We're on an 18 day B2B consisting of two 9 day segments on the Beyond for November deposited while on board the Apex in January of 2022. The future cruise department never said a thing regarding a B2B discount, no matter how small.
  15. In case you're interested, Carnival has made a few changes over the past year regarding tail. It's still on 6+ night cruises, but it's now on the second "elegant" night. And you're limited to two for free. Anymore costs you $5.00 each. Unless of course your significant other only eats 1 entree, then you could eat a third tail from them. Or anyone else in your party for that matter.
  16. Here's two options for you. Virgin or Viking, both kid free.
  17. It's needed in order to fill all of the extra berths considering the size of the Sphere Class ships compared to the rest of the fleet. If the new marketing scheme is not to the liking of the old guard, they can stick with sailing on the older ships in the fleet. Many didn't like the changes with the Royal Class, so there will be a percentage that will hate the new changes with the Sphere Class.
  18. Unbelievable. Won a $10.00 Amazon gift card on the scratch off game. Have parlayed well over 700,000 points to no avail and have about 150,000 left to spend.
  19. On every 6+ night cruise on every ship in the Carnival fleet, lobster is served. As far as comparing lines, if you're talking about the US based ones, RCI, Carnival, MSC and NCL would be entry level, with Celebrity, Princess, and HAL being an upgrade.
  20. Yea, but thanks for liking my double entendre post
  21. I wouldn't care care if that new port was the equivalent of saffron. It's still on a ship that was built in 2012 and on a cruise that is six days long versus a brand new ship that is seven days long. Newer ship and longer cruise trumps a new port, IMHO.
  22. Brand new ship with an extra day would be my choice every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
  23. Regarding the sailaway cabins on NCL in order to save money, one thing that was not mentioned is that NCL picks your cabin location, not you. On some cruises depending upon how far out you book, they could be sold out on NCL when in fact they are actually on hold by the big box agencies and might not be able to be booked directly through NCL until right before final payment when the agencies have to return the unsold cabins to NCL.
  24. If you're deciding between the Regal and the Prima, there is no comparison. I will state that Princess is our new favorite line of choice having sailed on the Discovery and Majestic and we have 7 future bookings amongst the Sun, Discovery and Enchanted. The Prima is a fantastic ship. We have sailed on her for a total of 25 nights between an 11 day repo cruise and a 14 day B2B. The Indulge Food Hall is fantastic and is a great walk up option for a leisurely dinner or for an alternative for lunch or breakfast. You've sailed on the Regal several times already. If you're conservative, then stick with the Regal, but the Prima has some really nice cutting edge details to it that I would not pass up.
