  1. Is this the great cracker shortage of 2024? You got 2 on a plate and none on this one? Happy Birthday Deb!!
  2. I was gonna say, but you beat me to it. And don't be in a hurry - allow extra time to get anywhere.
  3. Thanks for the update. Prayers and positive thoughts for the patient and family.
  4. @rafinmd good to hear you're pleased w/the trend; hope it continues.
  5. DTC says it's Hug a Plumber Day I did not want to hug the plumber when he let water run under the kitchen sink when he replaced the faucet, but I think I may hug one when the washing machine gets fixed - I'm posting this from the laundromat while doing laundry - what timing 🫣
  6. Are you talking about this little white space? If so, it's just where the cabin door is recessed back, there's no impact to cabin 5178. Being a port side person when I am not able to get true aft, I'd take 5178, but there's really no difference in the 2.
  7. Good collection of days. My relationship w/my hairstylist pre-dates my husband; we do cherish our miracle workers. Pass on the meal (shrimp), would try the drink & wine, Santorini pictures are on the computer, so I won't be posting but we were there June 2017 and thought it was beautiful. Thank you Mr Waldseemuller for putting America on the map. Prayers for the family of the young man (18yo) killed in yesterday's school shooting and for the students & staff of the school. I don’t know the answer, but school tragedies are so heartbreaking & need to stop. @ger_77 happy birthday to DH.🎂 prayers the procedure happens soon. Currently 70° headed to 79°, rain moves in tonight. Prayers 🙏 and positive thoughts for all.
  8. I've stayed in both 4166 and 7149 and LOVE them both for different reasons. My selection would be based on itinerary - AK would absolutely pick 7149, but in the Caribbean, Mexico or Europe I'd go with 4166. The wider balcony of 4166 is fabulous for hanging out, sharing the views w/others (if you host anyone in your cabin) and dining. The aft wake views of 7149 really help maximize the Alaskan experience (wildlife and glaciers). Not once have we had soot issues on any aft balcony, no matter which deck (I think we've had aft cabins on every deck). And any noise we had in 4166 was very short-lived and quickly forgotten by the awesome balcony space. I wouldn't spend extra for the SS 6115 - you can get the larger balcony in 4166. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  9. Unfortunate, but I do hope you enjoy your cruise. To your original question, this situation has not happened to me; however, on my very first cruise w/HAL we were moved out of our carefully selected aft verandah w/o notice. We were moved mid-ship (ugh - we are aft wake view people); I noticed when I logged in to complete some pre-cruise task (it's been so long I don't remember exactly what I was doing) and immediately called. I was told there had been an error and while they were not able to put us back in our original cabin, they could move us to an aft corner wrap NS and allow us to add an additional passenger at no charge, if that would be ok. "Yes, I suppose we'll accept that since there's no other option" is probably what I said in my most disappointed voice. DH and I did ask each other if they were able to bump us out why they couldn't bump the other people, but in the end it was a much better deal for us. Again, sorry this happened and I hope you have a great cruise. And were I you, I'd continue to call daily inquiring about a different cabin since they managed to charge you.
  10. Such great news about DH eye!! Great way to end the day.
  11. @marshhawk Absolutely not out of line - didn't cross my mind you meant anything unkind or insensitive. Hey, we have to find our joy and wins where/when we can. 🤗 That beautiful blue sky might as well have been a rainbow. An update on the school shooting - Sadly, the news tonight reported a young man did die - 18 years old. 2nd son his mother has lost to gun fire. Heartbreaking. Prayers for her, the family and the school community.
  12. I don't know how to get it to turn off or what triggered it to turn on - it's parked in the garage. I sent the picture to the Mechanic hoping it will be a quick fix for him. Yes, senseless - relieved to hear no one died.
  13. Thank you. The Japan TP was especially disappointing since we've never been there and included an AK port we've not visited.
  14. Well, today certainly has not gone as planned; what few things there were. Car would not start when I was going to pick up new ATM card. Instead I got this message - anti - theft system engaged so the car will not start. Once DH got home, he said to go the other way to the credit union as there had been a shooter at the high school by our house and traffic was messed up. I haven't gotten to research the shooting yet, but police from 3 cities are there and the helicopter is hovering. I hope everyone is safe. Positive note - the sky is a beautiful blue.
  15. I agree - PG lunch is the best bargain, but we shouldn't talk about it. If they would add candied bacon to the menu, there would be no need to go there for dinner. The flowers are beautiful - hope Debbie is enjoying her birthday cruise; she's in great company!!
  16. Another interesting collection of days & quote. Pass on the meal (seafood), yes to the drink & wine (may need to go in halfsies w/someone at that price), not been to the port. Thanks @aliaschief and @StLouisCruisers for the wonderful pictures. @Seasick Sailor good news the Dupixient arrived but yikes to that price. Hugs @ger_77 to you, DH and Ollie. @JazzyV so happy to hear you had another night of pain-free 💤 😴. You can remove both my upcoming Westerdam cruises (April 27 & May 12) from the list as we will not be going due to my growing list of issues (eyes, shoulder, knee, neck). So, I will not be going on my first TP, nor seeing Japan for the first time & will miss our annual AK in May cruise. 😪 Fingers crossed we will make Sept.🤞 Today is a trip to the credit union to pick up a new ATM card - fraud dept called last night asking about some suspucious transactions - then updating auto-pays w/the new number. Laundry may be on the agenda, we'll see. Temp was 66° when I checked a few hours ago, headed to 81° with rain still coming tomorrow evening & forecast to last all weekend; the backyard lake shall stay. If we had realized how large the depressed spot was, we would have had a French drain installed when the house was built; it will be quite an ordeal if/when we do it now. Prayers 🙏 and positive thoughts for all.
  17. For sure. "Just because you can doesn't mean you should" applies to many situations and practices, including this one.
  18. Seems reasonable, but I've never done it. I will next cruise.😊
  19. I did take pictures of both the white waffle weave cotton w/blue piping (the one for cabins) and the terry lined plush one (for the spa) and will see if I can find them. I did not ask for a CO robe in the larger size so do not know if that's available.
