  1. I think it's a 'no no'. This is directly off the RCI website FAQ:
  2. Depends on how long it takes to get through the embarkation process. We usually have a really big breakfast, just in case.πŸ™‚ Last cruise we didn't bother with lunch on board, just opted for early dinner.
  3. In our experience, your steward will leave a form in your cabin the night before where you fill in which canapes you would like and at what time (usually evening slots) and they are delivered to your cabin around your chosen time. On our cruise it was from the second night. Don't panic if you happen not to be in your room at the appointed time, the canapes will be left in your room. Just ask your steward about it when you board the ship and you can confirm the foregoing.
  4. Please come back after your cruise and let us know what you thought of the MA mini suite (a couple of photos of the cabin would be appreciated if you can manage it!). I hope you thoroughly enjoy your cruise.
  5. Obviously I have no specific knowledge of the multi trip travel insurance you already have, but is it possible to contact the insurance company and add cruise coverage to the policy?
  6. I was really happy when I read that Dawnie wasn't going to be scrapped. Of course, she will be eventually, but for now it's great she's still viable.
  7. Had a blonde moment when I saw the photo of Arcadia at BICT. Wait, what? In Brisbane? Then I checked her itinerary - WC. Duh........................πŸ™„
  8. Yes, Mic, I know what you're saying. It's the ship I love, not the current operator. It would definitely be a 'look, but don't touch' situation in my case.
  9. We too have been following Dawnie's (Ambience) new life. We have many fond memories of sailing on her. She was our favourite P&O ship. Just something special about the old girl. Would have loved to have been there to see Ambience sail into Sydney. πŸ€—
  10. Oh dear, you have been having a time of it. ☹️ Gotta love technology - not. I'm sure VtG will sort it out for you and you'll end up having a wonderful time. Feel free to pop back on this thread and let me know how you go.
  11. Hi Boldone. You might be better to post this on the P&O UK forum. The P&O Australia website is entirely separate to P&O UK so I don't know if anyone on the Australian forum would be able to make any suggestions. Good luck and hope you get it sorted soon.
  12. Totally get what you're saying JVes and always try to assist when I can (even if it's just getting out of the way πŸ˜€). However, one time I saw a blind person obviously struggling to get on a train. I tried to assist and got abused by that person for my trouble. I first asked if I could assist, so it's not like I came out of nowhere and startled them but boy did I get an earful. Left me feeling quite shaken.
  13. I'm with you OzKiwi, I'm not enamoured of that bed design at all. That low unit looks like a trip hazard to me, especially if you are getting out of bed for a bathroom visit. And it doesn't look as if it would be absolutely seamless getting out of the other side either. And I definitely prefer the traditional night stand with drawers and a bedside lamp. I also wonder how long that low unit is going to last as I can see that people will probably stand on it to get into bed (however inadvisable that is).
  14. Yes, I only found that out when I signed up for Princess promotional emails a while back. P&O certainly don't share that information so I was a bit gobsmacked when I logged into my Princess account and saw all my previous P&O cruises listed.
  15. Is that escargot, Mic? Sorry, hadn't finished reading the thread before I leapt into print and see that you answered that question already.πŸ™„ One of my favourite entrees. From memory I had it every night on a 7 day Caribbean cruise.πŸ˜†
  16. Yep, did the same for our next cruise and ended up saving $1080 for the exact same cabin as we originally booked. Pays to be vigilant.
  17. Well, that's a nuisance. As you mentioned in your previous post, perhaps your cabin attendant can arrange storage.
  18. Yes, even though you're doing a domestic cruise it is still advisable to have travel insurance. Medicare will not cover you for medical expenses on board (which can be staggering, particularly if you have an accident and need to be airlifted off) and then there's cover for (heaven forbid) last minute cancellation, etc. Have a FANTASTIC cruise!!!! We did GBR out of Brisbane last year and had a ball. Don't forget to come back post cruise and tell us how it went.πŸ™‚
  19. I have one of those too, only he is the boarder. Incapable of putting a screw top on straight on the jam jar, can't tell the difference between the general rubbish kitchen tidy and the recycle bin (I had to resort to putting an A4 label on the recycle bin 'no foodstuffs in this bin' - the two bins are totally different in appearance), can't wash up to save himself (I'm forever taking 'washed' crockery and cutlery out of the cupboard and redoing it). The list is endless. He's a thoroughly nice person, just clueless and unteachable. Yeah, I REALLY need a cruise...............πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜€
  20. Yep, our backyard is saturated. Our Labrador is not impressed because Mum won't take her for her morning run in the pouring rain. 'But I'm a water dog, Mum!' Fingers crossed that the flooding in Brisbane won't get any worse and that power is restored to those poor souls currently without. It's been quite a ride weather wise since Christmas. My thoughts with everyone affected.
  21. Thought I'd better clarify.............. We were performing in a stage production.🀭
  22. I really hate up-selling. If I wanted something I would have bought it in the first place!
  23. I well remember our very first Valentine's Day as a married couple. We were on stage yelling at eachother!!!πŸ˜† Fortunately, that was not a precursor of our married life!πŸ˜‚πŸ₯°
