  1. That’s because it’s alkaline water and marked right on the front. Personally I love Flow water and drink it at home anytime I buy bottled water. I hate Nestle or Kirkland water or anything in a little plastic bottle.
  2. Haha is that because you haven’t worked out since 2013?
  3. I hate when music is so loud I can’t have a conversation unless I am on a dance floor or in a theatre etc. For anyone who struggles with ambient sounds I highly recommend looking at getting Loops. They are like an earplug but have different types depending on how much noise you want to block. I like the ones that block ambient noise. They are actually cute and very convenient. All my friends with ADHD swear by them. So if elevator music is a trigger for you, these might be perfect.
  4. I’m sorry I miss read and assumed. So let me tailor a few things. You travel enough to know what makes it easier for you and I would communicate that with the agent. You can make a list if that helps. If you like routine and consistency I would suggest looking at the option of traditional dinning which is the same time and table every night. This way you also get the same waiter who will get to know you. I am neurodivergent by not autistic and one of the things I like always bringing with me when I travel especially cruises is a pad of post it notes, I like having a way to communicate with my room steward even if I don’t see him or her. my favorite part of cruising is the consistency and routine. I love being able to travel and see many places without having to move or adjust to a new space. Once you know what ship you’ll be cruising on you can ask the agent more specific questions as to recommended quiet spots for example. bringing some snacks in moderate quantities wouldn’t be a special accommodation for some cruise lines so just ask your agent. One thing to note is you can’t bring food or drinks other than water into port though. There is a lot of food on cruise ships though so you can usually always find something you’ll enjoy.
  5. There are cruise lines that cater specifically to the neurodivergent so I would ask about that or do a little research. For arrangements like flights since that can be a pain point take into consideration anything that could improve the situation. Is there a time of day that is easier for you to fly? Are connections going to make the trip more difficult? For airport transfers are buses etc ok or would a private transfer be better? Same applies for tours, are large groups ok or can they arrange private tours for your family? If you carry certain food and drinks for your kids will that cruise line be ok with that. If your kid is a picky eater I would ask your agent to show you menus of the cruise lines MDR and room service Don’t forget to put travel insurance on your list wether you ask the agent or research it yourself.
  6. 5 tops, 4 bottoms, 3 dresses, 3 shoes, 2 swimsuits, 2 accessories, 1 hat, 1 sunglasses its an example and can be tweaked according to gender, destination, and style. I looked at my pieces and then made over 80 outfits. It’s a framework that works to make a capsule wardrobe for traveling.
  7. So glad to hear NCL is prepared. I’ve heard Celebrity if you request a sharps container they require a doctors letter for you to be able to travel with your needles. I might understand if it’s people trying to travel with a box of hypodermic needles but for an injector pen with it’s tips which have a prescription attached seems excessive.
  8. Do you have to rinse with Sink Suds? I use Soak because it’s no rinse needed and use to use Eucalan which is similar but I’m now allergic to it.
  9. Another vote for luggage tag holders. Just make sure you get the right size since different lines use different sizes and sometimes amazon listings can be misleading as to which lines it’s sized for.
  10. Egg white, almond flour and powdered sugar and if properly made they have a perfect thin crunchy shell with a a pillowy interior and a delectable filling. What I don’t understand is why people say the baked Alaska on Celebrity is so good. I love dessert and have many some incredible baked Alaska in the past and was so looking forward to it on an Alaskan cruise but it was… well not good at all.
  11. I remember reading somewhere that the pack and plays on cruise ships where much smaller than normal. Worse case maybe you can split the beds, put the mattress or couch cushion on the ground between and make a “blanket fort” for nap times. That way he’s semi surrounded, near the ground, and it’s darker. im sure you’ll figure it out and the two of you will enjoy a lovely vacation.
  12. Did they have travel insurance? If there are fees to changing guests name etc those may be covered by travel insurance.
  13. Well it’s been a shitty 2 weeks over here. I injured my neck, barely moved because of pain, ended passing out and have been blacking out from low blood pressure lately too. With all that I managed to loose 0.6lb since 2 weeks ago. Nothing sent well last week from a flood in my office to being told my car needs an overpriced engine so stress eating was a big possibility. I did stress eat a little and put on some weight but lost it all and more since which is a success in my books. One week from now I’ll be flying to Alaska yay. I bought an EmeTerm bracelet for seasickness to test on my Alaska trip and it’s already working against my medications side effects . Saw my doctor this week and she’s really happy with my weight loss in the last 2 months. Can’t wait to keep going and loose these extra pounds and feel better inside and out.
  14. Considering new younger cruisers are a major market according to the research I’d say they’ve struck a decent balance in lengths of cruises. Still lots of longer cruises on the schedule to keep the majority happy but enough shorter ones to attract new cruisers or those who want to sample celebrity before investing more.
  15. The one situation they don’t work in is if your have them inside an RFID protected travel bag. I just tested it with my RFID pouch I use to protect my cards and passport etc and it’s blocks the signal of the AirTag as well.
  16. They work great in everything, no issues at all.
  17. I have 2 large pelican case I travel with regularly and the rest of my luggage is hardside.
  18. I think this was just before they returned to mixed tables (Covid rules) but I made friends with an amazing family and joined them for dinner every night after. It was so much better. Even having a table near other people would have been better than what I was given. I’m sure a couple would have preferred the privacy of the table I had but it wasn’t for me.
  19. Late to the party but I cruised solo last year on Millennium and it wasn’t the most solo friendly experience but I truly enjoyed myself. The downside was the MDR I was placed at a table for two along a wall with giant chairs. Zero vibe and I was so bored waiting between courses (2+ hours for 3 courses is very very slow) that I went back to my cabin to get my knitting. I felt very safe and had staff I talked to daily who would watch out for me which I truly appreciated. Those connections daily made me feel great.
  20. Amazing thank you for the info. The ones in the washrooms is perfect.
  21. You could use the “find” feature if it’s within 8 yards. Literally you could walk the hallways and locate it that way if it’s in a stateroom most likely. Not sure if the metal walls might interfere with that feature however.
  22. Is there sharps containers accessible on NCL ships. I’ll be on Gem for 15 nights and need to give myself 2 injections while onboard. I don’t need a big and bulky sharps container in my cabin but do they have them in washrooms like some other ships? Can I just drop off the needle at the medical center during normal operating hours?
  23. Doesn’t everything taste better soaked in butter
  24. I swear by AirTags since an airline lost my luggage for 3 weeks. So much less stress when I can track my luggage every step of the way. Basically as long as an iPhone or iPad goes nearby it will track it. This week my business is shipping a very important box and I put an AirTag in it so I can track it. The best deal ive found is buying a 4 pack from Costco. We put one in each piece of checked luggage plus in our carry on and even our personal items. There’s usually even one in my knitting bag. If someone steals your purse it’s trackable. I didn’t know where all my AirTags where today so I was able to use the finding feature and track them to within inches using my phone. It was fantastic. I also like knowing my luggage made it onboard my flight before taking off. Also when my flight lands I don’t have to wait for all the luggage to go round and round the carrousel before making my way to baggage claims. I’m first in line since I know it’s still in X city. So less time spent in line is a bonus. Honestly can’t say enough good things about AirTags. I recommend them to everyone and have been using them for over a year now. One tip though is you can name each tag. I’ll name them after each suitcase like “moms carry on” which helps when trying to tell someone what the issuing suitcase looks like.
  25. Haha LL bean vs Patagonia. I’m not a Caribbean person so Alaska or TAs are Northern Europe are my ideal itineraries. Shorts and tank tops are not my weather.
