  1. The assumption is made because people don’t usually call themselves cattle. Can you imagine calling a stranger (woman in particular) on the street a cow 😱. Language is powerful but I understand your intent was not what may have been perceived.
  2. I did not call you old I said “typically older” there is a big difference. It’s a general view not a specific one reflecting each individual cruiser. Also I would not say that being older is a bad thing at all. Enjoy the expendable income you’ve created in your successful lifetime, people my age have not reached that stage in our lives yet.
  3. I like to dance into the evening and have fun at silent disco etc. this isn’t the vibe of retreat and that’s great for those who enjoy the retreat. Just stating it’s not the place for me but that doesn’t make me cattle. Also overall celebrity guests are older. How many people on here complain that the marketing material specifically targeted women in their 30s recently. I will agree my words chosen would not be the ones I would normally choose since I am usually a little more diplomatic but it’s a reflection of being called cattle by OP after taking the time to say positive things.
  4. None of the menus I saw list any of the so called “premium bottled water” which is the only option you might have.
  5. Actually being referred to as cattle is very derogatory. As someone in their 30s travelling solo there is no way I could justify the price of double occupancy in retreat. Anyways I won’t pay more to be with a bunch of typically older more boring couples. As I’ve said in the past on here thank god people people aren’t as nasty on cruises as they are on CC especially the celebrity area.
  6. Ok the only thing I had issue with on my cruise was a member of crew on Millie lol. Going in with a positive attitude that it won’t be a recurring situation. I will give the crew member a the benefit of the doubt that they were understaffed and he was struggling to cope. Also the best part of my entire crews was a different crew member. The best thing to do is go in with a positive attitude.
  7. I am sure my upcoming cruise will still be a great vacation full of fun times and great drinks. I can’t wait to make these memories with my mom (it’s her first cruise). Will I be booking another cruise while onboard like I did last year, no. Will I enjoy myself, absolutely. im trying out other lines and hope to find the sweet spot of comfort to value. X is no longer giving me the value. So things I am most looking forward to on my upcoming cruise -my favorite scotch served by my favorite bar tender -cafe Al bacio -dancing the night away (aka working off that cruise food) -seeing great ports and enjoying hiking in Alaska -the mushroom risotto in the MDR -eating lots of steak -turn down service -the naturalist presentations -oh and I am so excited that bingo is back there are lots more but those are the first that came to mind. I also look forward to making my mom work most of her way through the martini menu wether she knows it or not. enjoy your cruise
  8. Convenience since you don’t have to go find it elsewhere.
  9. Share your secrets oh smart one. This is my first NCL and hopefully I fall in love with the line. I see myself cruising at least twice a year and I’ve got a good 40 plus years of cruising left.
  10. You better hurry up because this year was the first of not having the canal opened at all. The tulip festival is a great spring festival for sure. I was in the tremblant region last month and it was amazing, so beautiful.
  11. Haha I won’t even date a guy if he doesn’t have a passport. It’s essential for me especially since I live an hour from the border.
  12. Check a week after final payment to see if the price dropped. My TA I was able to upgrade my cabin and perks and only spent 60$ more because of the price drop. So book early if that helps your schedule but always look to see if you can a bump up at the last minute. With my schedule I can do last minute trips and prefer cruises that don’t sell out so it works for me to wait.
  13. It also depends on what type of physio you are doing. My physio therapist doesn’t see anyone more than once a week so with the way she works it makes travel much easier. As a patient of hers she expects you to put in the work which you can do from anywhere really. Also depends what type of knee replacement your having done along with a bunch of other considerations. Some people just bounce back faster than others.
  14. Because some of us like waking up to natural light. That’s the only reason I booked oceanview for my 15 night cruise. Waking up to natural light also helps me combat jet lag.
  15. One suggestion is to download things overnight when the system is under less stress. I do this at home when preloading up my tablet with a bunch of movies on Netflix and prime before I travel. You learn to deal with slow internet when you live in the country.
  16. I get my travel insurance annually and it is only a little more than NCL for one cruise. Considering I travel about 7-8 times a year it’s a much better price through my insurance provider.
  17. Scissors aren’t limited in length… good to know.
  18. Less than 1/4 of my clothes would I send to laundry. None of my nicer items, none of my workout gear, none of my bras would ever go to commercial laundry. Basically only some of my tshirts and my jeans would I subject to high heat like that. I don’t pack ultralight partially because of all the work stuff I need to bring taking up room but I don’t pack a ton either. Recently I discovered the 5-4-3-2-1 packing method and I am obsessed. When I picked the items I’ll be bringing on my 18 day trip I took the time to figure out how many outfits I can make and it was over 80. I’ll just hand wash as I go and have lots of options.
  19. That is my absolute no go no matter the price of the cruise. I really don’t like buffets and the MDR is non negotiable for me.
  20. Premium seating at the MDR for a fee. That romantic table for two comes at a cost.
  21. Yesterday my friend showed me his minipresso from wacaco and I was so impressed. If your a diehard coffee person who is really picky you might want to check it out. It’s small and meant for travel and they make different versions.
  22. My table on Milli was against a wall alone and no one around. My friendly Canadian nature hated it so much. It also featured the massive chairs that look like the cone of silence. So happy I met a really nice family who had an extra chair to share dinner with.
  23. I think the key is ask nicely and if it’s logistically possible it might happen. The choice of this large of a table in the room is a bad design choice so I’m sure this request happens often.
  24. Table for 2 shouldn’t be a problem. My cruise last year I was solo and they put me at a table for 2 alone. I hated my table and dining time but it “couldn’t be changed” so I made friends and joined them for dinner. Don’t expect change’s onboard but a table for 2 is very likely.
