  1. Because some of us like waking up to natural light. That’s the only reason I booked oceanview for my 15 night cruise. Waking up to natural light also helps me combat jet lag.
  2. One suggestion is to download things overnight when the system is under less stress. I do this at home when preloading up my tablet with a bunch of movies on Netflix and prime before I travel. You learn to deal with slow internet when you live in the country.
  3. I get my travel insurance annually and it is only a little more than NCL for one cruise. Considering I travel about 7-8 times a year it’s a much better price through my insurance provider.
  4. Scissors aren’t limited in length… good to know.
  5. Less than 1/4 of my clothes would I send to laundry. None of my nicer items, none of my workout gear, none of my bras would ever go to commercial laundry. Basically only some of my tshirts and my jeans would I subject to high heat like that. I don’t pack ultralight partially because of all the work stuff I need to bring taking up room but I don’t pack a ton either. Recently I discovered the 5-4-3-2-1 packing method and I am obsessed. When I picked the items I’ll be bringing on my 18 day trip I took the time to figure out how many outfits I can make and it was over 80. I’ll just hand wash as I go and have lots of options.
  6. That is my absolute no go no matter the price of the cruise. I really don’t like buffets and the MDR is non negotiable for me.
  7. Premium seating at the MDR for a fee. That romantic table for two comes at a cost.
  8. Yesterday my friend showed me his minipresso from wacaco and I was so impressed. If your a diehard coffee person who is really picky you might want to check it out. It’s small and meant for travel and they make different versions.
  9. My table on Milli was against a wall alone and no one around. My friendly Canadian nature hated it so much. It also featured the massive chairs that look like the cone of silence. So happy I met a really nice family who had an extra chair to share dinner with.
  10. I think the key is ask nicely and if it’s logistically possible it might happen. The choice of this large of a table in the room is a bad design choice so I’m sure this request happens often.
  11. Table for 2 shouldn’t be a problem. My cruise last year I was solo and they put me at a table for 2 alone. I hated my table and dining time but it “couldn’t be changed” so I made friends and joined them for dinner. Don’t expect change’s onboard but a table for 2 is very likely.
  12. I’m traveling solo and was thinking of asking to have the bed pushed to one side. More moving space and still a big bed to sprawl in.
  13. It gets real windy in Skagway on the pier so hold on to your hat. There’s a shuttle but it’s not essential, you can walk to town.
  14. No big deal for tourists. Once we get more info I’ll have to look into it more and how it affects business travel.
  15. Looking forward to hearing this. I just upgraded myself to oceanview for the cruise after yours and also thinking of having that table removed.
  16. Are you asking medical or trip interruption/cancellation or both?
  17. I did it on Celebrity and it was the head of Cellar Masters that ran ours. It was fun but the group also makes the experience. 2/3 of the people didn’t show up and they had pre poured the glasses… let’s just say we helped clear a lot of glasses that night.
  18. I would recommend having early dinning time. My experience with kids on celebrity being difficult is those with late dinner times who were hungry and tired. Bring lots of activities to keep your kids busy. Bring OTC kids meds you could possibly need. bring travel sized games, colouring books, books, anything that will keep your kids busy. I still remember some of these from when I was a kid traveling or when my grandmother packed my little bag for church with a toy and snack.
  19. I’ll be late for this weeks weigh in unfortunately. I injured my neck last Thursday and then yesterday passed out for the first time in over a decade. So tomorrow I’m going to the doctors in town (I live in the country but my parents live in the suburbs close to my GP). 15 days till my cruise.
  20. My first cruise I had scheduled my own transfer/excursion and self disembarked because of the timing. Those who waited for luggage were late but our bus was able to wait. The next cruise I have no rush so I’ll let the cruise line move my luggage probably. For my TA I’m using NCLs transfer so they can take care of it. Keep in mind I can carry all my luggage easily down several flights of stairs, just make sure to wear the right shoes.
  21. WhatsApp requires at least the basic plan which is included in AI
  22. NCL allows you to search as a solo traveller so you get the price for solo wether it’s a solo cabin or not. My upcoming TA is on a ship that doesn’t have solo cabins but there is no single supplement. sometimes solo cabins are more expensive than a larger interior cabin if there is no singles supplement on that itinerary.
  23. Also people do cancel or change their minds on excursions. A provider may be able to handle increased capacity and that might reflect in spots becoming available etc.
  24. Lashes and bold lipsticks takes almost no room. Honestly every evening I got dressed for dinner and it looked better than many for “chic night”.
